Interesting. I saw that one as just playful banter since it looked to me he was just joking to disarm her a bit. I thought the rest of the conversation confirmed it when she calls him an ass with a smile on her lips and then he gets serious and talks about both of them really caring for each other.

I don't know. I just feel like I'm insulting her. She's being extremely candid and sincere, and I don't think Shepard should be anything but serious with her.

Honestly, I saw it as him trying to alleviate the mood - like mentioned, it was serious. He changed the tone a bit and brought a smile to her face before being serious with her about his feelings.

Just back to say I completely agree, Rathias. But again, I think this one is a lot more subjective than the jealous one.

Don't know if I'm the only person that thinks this but, more often than not isn't Miranda's demeanor "softer" towards Shepard even before her loyalty mission? Is it because she's the one that rebuilt him or am I just coocoo?

I am not going to lie - Ashley was a forgettable character to me. I remember the days leading up to ME2 when I was so confused whether or not I would romance Miranda because of how much I liked Ashley..

But after going through the romance - seeing Ashley's picture turned down on my very first playthrough did nothing but make me say "Good riddance!" that it was over.

Ashley, to me, was a lacking character who had no depth. Maybe Miranda has the advantage of having a loyalty mission where we get to see into who she really is - but after learning about her and her life, I couldn't wait to get rid of my ties to Ashley.

I think that is one of the things that helps fuel the Tali fans. They've had TWO games to fall in love with a character and she has had a lot longer time to develop to the players.

We'll see in Mass Effect 3 - but currently, Miranda has been and always will be my favorite.

I hadn't realized I had backed into 'romance conversation' territory. It's kind of funny in a way...it's like Miranda was saing to Shep, "You know, I appreciate you helping me with my sister and everything, but in case you haven't noticed yet, I'm also completely hot. Anyways, I agree. I honestly think the "Are you jealous?" line is an even larger display of douchebaggery. The thing that she tells you there is something she's probably never shared with anyone before, and then Shepard can mock her for it. I think she's offended, too. I know whatever contempt there was is quickly eradicated when you kiss her, but if you apologize to her she seems a little pissed off to me. She's trying to open up to you, so you should proceed with caution.

Don't get me wrong, I love the scene. It's just not something I can realistically see my Shepard doing. This is all just my opinion, of course. I'm not insinuating anyone is shallow, or a jerk or anything.

EDIT: I can see why you guys would choose the "who said anything about love" option. It's not as bad as I originally thought.

Wow good question.

I think if I was in the same position as Niket I would try to help Miranda. I believe that Niket was her genuine friend, and I would not want to let that fall a part for some credits.

I assume you mean Ashley's character had no 'depth' instead of 'no death' (as you can leave her to die in Virmire...)

And I'm a big Ashley fan myself, and really agonized over the decision to leave her (even after Horizon, her email was very sweet.) I think she and Miranda make interesting contrasts. I also like how Shepard can influence both of their opinions (Miranda's towards Cerberus, Ash's towards aliens and the Council.)

Although I agree with GreedisNoException that Ashley's Bun of Steel does her no favors. (Was sorta hopeful it would be down in the love scene. But it isn't, and Ash can't be blamed, because Shepard gets fully dressed right away.)

Considering the history and how Miranda was Niket's only real friend and vice versa, no, I would've definitely got in touch with Miri before even thinking about contacting Cerberus. That guy was a fool.

I can understand, but if I was Niket I would have had a little more faith in my friend. That's sort of like Ash hearing Shepard was working with Ceberus. You have the facts, but not the truth in a way.

I don't think there's any way to really justify what he did. Its one thing to do something your friend doesn't like and which pisses them off.

Its an entirely different ballgame to LITERALLY sell them out to the highest bidder. The "I didn't know you kidnapped your sister" thing was flimsy at best, and if he was really her friend he should have realized there was more to it. I think it came down to a simple case of he was too weak to turn away the money.

 I found Miranda rather boring at start. But as i talked to her more and more i thought there was more to her, than she was telling. 

Myserious, intelligent, and caring (though she hides it). Thats when i started to like her as a character, and when she told me about her sister i started to like her as a character more. And when i was actually planning to romance Tali, Miranda kinda pulled a dirty move on me.

Oh, and them leather clothes...! Though it was her personality that got the better of me..
