That's a good point you brought up about the VA work because each squad member has atleast somthing unique to say about each other.Noverian Security wrote...
Exactly, I would settle for just new conversations options and/or costumes, but do you think they would bring the whole cast back to do voiceovers just for DLC? or just yvonne?vince0488 wrote...

indeed. I would be surprised if it happened though (but OH do I want it to happen...) but new costumes as a DLC would be totally in the realm of possibilities

Animations, possibly they have VA 'in the can' for levels that haven't been created yet. There's a lot that goes into making a modern, large-budget game. Voicework is just one component (and Bioware is one of the only companies that takes it seriously.)

Yeah, animations and all the other technical stuff that goes into game design. They'd probably have the story and dialogue planned out but it's designing all the new locations and bad guys that takes time.

True.
Though, with how rich EA is - I'm sure they'd be willing to pump out a couple more million to help Bioware get the most out of it's game.

There is a good deal of money to be made in extra content, if there is a large expansion to ME2 it will probably be both downloadable and in disk form.Rathias0114 wrote...

Well, spending a lot of money in a game is risky--you need a return on your investment. ME2 cost a ton to make, but it retails for approximately the same amount as any other new game. This is why DLC is increasingly important as a follow-on income stream. There's also something to be said for building your intellectual property base; Mass Effect 1 and 2 have built a universe that has been spun off to other games, books, comics, a rumored movie...part of the reason Bioware went with ME1 instead of KOTOR 2 or 3 was because they wanted to grow a universe that they OWNED.
And (trying to get back on topic, at least a little bit here), part of that is having iconic and instantly recognizable characters. Disney recently bought out Marvel for a huge amount of money, and most of the value of Marvel was not in their comics publishing business, but in simply owning the rights to Iron Man, Wolverine, the Hulk, et al. It's clear that by using Yvonne's face and putting Miranda all over the cover art, they think of her as a front-and-center part of the ME "brand".

A little surprised there's no Asari figure, as I would've guessed Asari are one of the more recognizable ME races.

Yeah Bioware pretty much proved their worth to EA with ME2(if it wasn't already done...) Getting funding for additionnal voice acting session at this point don't seem THAT far fetched of an idea.
catch you later Norvegian!

Also, I think they were able to do more all-around and getting much better production values in ME2 because ME1 already proved the concept was successful. I think they're going to continue to build on that success with ME3. One of many reasons why I think it's highly likely most of your ME2 squad will carry over to ME3. (Including Miranda....this is still a Miranda thread, my musings on the video game industry aside....)

Well, I'm sure EA values Bioware quite highly after the one-two punch of DAO and ME2. (And the forthcoming Old Republic. Everyone wants the continuing income stream, and DLC is one way, and MMOGs are another.) Undoubtedly Bioware has contributed at least partly to this:

The squad will definitely carry over. There's absolutely no reason for them to leave Shepard. Especially Miranda if you romanced her. She left Cerberus and has no where to go at all. That was her only refuge before she quit.
EDIT: BTW, where is everyone getting these new ME2 avatars from? I can't get them, but i've been seeing new ones around lately. Any help?

Anyway, almost to the "climax" of the romance. Have to do the IFF, Legion's loyalty, and then off to Omega 4. O yes, happy! Still want my black leather patch though!

I think this thread's optimism is one of it's strengths, and part of why it's been successful. This is the LOOOOVE thread.
And good luck with the Suicide Mission! I found it really intense and nervous the first time doing it...was so worried someone was gonna die. They definitely play with you a lot, there. Now that I know a lot of the "right" choices, it's not as intense.
(Miranda did save my Shepard, though. Even though all those points I put into Overload for her weren't very useful on the last mission, it was nice.)

So many playthroughs with perfect survival rates... I plan on intentionally screwing up at least one decision to finally take a casualty but... it's so hard
