I think Miranda's accent really adds a ton to her appeal. Her looks are one thing, but that accent kept melting me over and over and I became puddy in her hands.
Poor Ashley, but I will make up with her in ME3 and just make another Sheperd for Miranda. Hey what can I say, I care about a lot of the Mass Effect LIs.

Miranda is by far my favorite character in the Mass Effect games, and not just because she is good looking. Miranda has a very interesting character development from the beginning to the end of the story. Not to mention her loyalty quest is the most well done of all the loyalty quests. She also is the best party member in my opinion with her leadership boost, and the ability to use warp and overload. In my opinion you actual feel that you changed Miranda through what you did in the game and that is pretty amazing. They also did a very good job at getting Yvonne Strahovski to do the voice acting and modeling the character after her looks and, her Australian accent really makes the character unique. I am hoping to see Miranda as a playable character and a love interest in Mass Effect 3.

Female Miranda fan here, and I didn't need any warming up, I knew I'd like her from the start. As a long-time Chuck fan, I have a total girl-crush on Yvonne Strahovski. She's awesome -and- gorgeous.
Honestly, I was pretty surprised when I found out how disliked she is. In the few weeks before the game when more of her videos and things came out, I got even more excited for the character. Hey, not everyone can trust Shepard right away, and I really liked the dynamic she added to my team.
