Is it too late to join the Miranda
discussion? I see it's verged off a bit into rootbeer and such, but
what did you think of what was going on between Miranda and Jacob?
I mean, I know they had something.
(I was just making this up as I went along, so ignore any inconsistencies in my ideas)
Hmm. It's hard to say. Damn Jacob and his I-don't-want-to-get-into-it-ness.
I imagine that actually were fairly close. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Cerberus that got in the way. Miranda probably had her hands full with the Lazarus project, but she didn't have much of problem having Jacob as her security chief, so it's not like she wouldn't see him. It seems their break-up wasn't on bad terms, but I doubt they just drifted apart either. There doesn't really seem to be anything between them, as far as a lack of closure. I think they are friends, though. Jacob expresses concern about Miranda possibly being overwhelmed by mechs, and Miranda cares enough to forward the message about the Gernsback, giving Jacob closure about his father.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was Jacob who broke it off, honestly. He admits that him and Miranda aren't right for each other. I think they did care for each other, and they still do, to an extent. The look they share in the briefing room after the crash landing sort of tells this.
