Garrus is an alien. It was never his physical appearance that made him attractive (at least not to me). It was his personality. But I think he's much too loyal to Shep to even consider something like that. Also, if you played a fem Shep romance with him he mentions how he's never even considered being with another species before. And since he never really talks to Miranda, I doubt he would ever want to pursue anything with her.

In my paragon playthrough I saved everyone, but in my weird mixed mostly renegade but makes good choices once in awhile character...I killed all the boys...and Tali...I decided to save Grunt instead he seemed fiercely loyal and I doubt anyone would be attracted to Grunt.......hopefully no one would be... maybe I made a mistake the krogan want babies GAH!! haha : p Tali was very against Shepards renegade ways so she had to go...I felt bad for a minute.

Oh, I wasn't seriously discussing the attractiveness Garrus as I have no opinion on that matter. If you play as a Male Shep you can have this discussion after he gets shot up about how he looks and he says something to the effect of what I said earlier. Not sure if this happens with Femshep but I figure I should give some background anyway.

Besides, Garrus is my buddy.

You know, when I asked Sten, "Tell me about your people," and he just said, "No," the VERY FIRST thing I thought of was Tali, who was willing to spend seemingly hours just chattering away about all things Quarian and life on the flotilla. Hmm..

Same here, it was pretty intense when I did my insanity run on my Infiltrator, I found my self thinking "Oh s**** that Krogan's charging at Miri!" The slow-mo effect when I went into sniper scope only added to the tension, the whole 'can I stop him in time' feeling... it was emotionally engaging.

Congratulations Bioware, you made me say it.

I'm finding it tough to keep to my use-different-characters-each-playthrough rule.

"Hmm, who would work well with this character? Well, let's see, Miranda can destroy barriers, armor, shields, and adds a bonus to health and damage...huh....that's pretty tough to beat." Does it count if I use mostly the white costume this time?

I remember this one event.

Think it was the mission to pick up Thane - on the bridge. Saw Miri advancing forward and all the fire immediatly switched to her.

Pulled out my shotgun.

Yelled my battlecry.

And proceeded to adrenaline rush and mow down any and all Vangaurds who dared to use a biotic power against her.

The thing is, Miranda's always a good choice, so yeah I kinda feel bad leaving most of my crew back on the Normandy while Miranda, Garrus and myself badass our way through the game.

You know, I thought I mentioned this on the OP (or earlier in this thread), but although I 'opened the door' to Miranda's romance after her loyalty mission, I didn't go back to see her for a while. I was still really wondering if I really want to leave Ashley. But I figured there's plenty of game left, I can go recruit some other people and do some loyalty missions before I need to decide.



And then I triggered the collector ship mission, and I go with Miranda and Grunt. Most of the first part of the mission, nothing happens, but then you get attacked by the floating platforms with the Collector General. And when that attack started, a platform hits the ground hard and knocked Miranda down. I was really worried for a minute.



After that mission was done, I pretty much went right to Miranda's office, and she and Shepard had the conversation about love.



And then the photo of Ash was turned down. I felt kinda bad, but I also felt like I had made an important choice. The die was cast, and it was one of the most affecting moments in any entertainment medium for me.

I really now wish that I had waited to evolve the conversations between the two characters instead of going there after every mission.. and it's upsetting because I won't get that sense of fulfillment like you did.



However, I do understand that moment of worry. Like I mentioned in my earlier post about how shallow I am.. the defining moment when I realized how much I enjoyed her character was when she floored me with that;



"So don't die! Promise me you won't die!"



That -one- line.. sent me reeling back. I had begun to warm up to her character's personality over the course of the game.. but when those words escaped her lips.. I realized just how hooked I was.



There was -so much- emotion in that one line. There was passion.. she didn't want to lose her chance at a real relationship. There was desperation.. she understood that this was a one-way mission.. but I think that hearing Shepard promise he won't die kind've gave her.. damn, what's a good way to say this.. a stronger feeling to try her damn best to make sure they come back alive? That doesn't even accurately describe what I am trying to get across.



After that moment, I was so upset that there was no more conversation branching with her - and it made me thoroughly upset. It's probably the main reason why I've played through the game so many times - to experience the romance over and over and try and get that ultimate feeling of satisfaction from it.



Damn you, Bioware - but good show.

Guys. This is like the worst week ever. First my xbox died and now my laptop will NOT boot up. I'm borrowing my friend's right now. And I should be worried about how I'll be taking my online class but I'm mostly bummed that I won't be on this forum as much now. =[
