Well obviously she is not really hostile...except at the very beginning when she says Cerberus should have put a control chip in your brain.

I liked it when Miranda said that. Somehow I felt I could trust her because she was being brutally honest with me from the start, and from that point on I felt she was not the deceptive kind. I felt if she had a problem with me, she would always confront me face to face, not go behind my back.

I guess I had no proof of that, and my trust could have ended up screwing me, but I just felt that way. And as luck would have it, it paid off big time.

For me, playing as a male Shep, Miranda is far more more compatible, physically and mentally, than either Tali or Jack.

My real choice was whether to stay faithful to my ME1 favourite, Ash, or try to thaw the "Ice Queen". Miranda:s attributes, and Ash:s attitude on Horizon, where she effectively put her loyalty to the Alliance above our relationship, persuaded me onto the "de-icing" route.

I realised I had made the correct choice when Miranda put my Shep above her loyalty to Cerebrus

I was a little surprised she did that after what happened when the Alliance grounded the Normandy in ME1 and she trusted me then.  Granted convincing her when I am working for Cerberus is asking alot but come on, give me a little credit.  She basically said I was blinded to Cerberus because they brought me back from the dead...and I guess I do admit that did help their cause in getting me to listen to them.

But I still planned on staying loyal to her, especially after Ash's surprisingly sweet e-mail...but what can I say?  Miranda won me over during her loyalty mission.

Yeah well I had intentionally avoided any coverage of ME2's development, keeping myself occupied playing Dragon Age by design so I knew nothing about the plot or the characters or anything I didn't already know from ME1 and the ME novels.  She seemed like a ruthless Cerberus type to me, and I considered Cerberus one of my Paragon Sheps mortal enemies.  It was kind of a shock that they would bring me back after I blew up their bases in ME1 and then that I would end up working for them...with a Cerberus crew...

Fortunately I am open minded.

That was so awesome I cheered out loud.  Very surprising turn of events there actually.  It sort of makes you wonder what is going to happen to her and her sister now that Cerberus will not be protecting them...and actually might come after them in revenge.  TIM hates traitors.  Miranda is really taking a huge personal risk here and I hope either she manages it or I can help her out in the sequel...I mean if we have time with all the Galaxy being destroyed thing going on.

I think the freakiest part of the ending is the Reapers are coming and I have no more idea how to stop them than I did at the end of ME1.

Indeed. I felt the same way. There another facet to this: you just know that Miranda *can* be decptive if she thinks its necessary, because she is, after all, an operative of a black ops organization. You must have the ability to be deceptive in that job. On the other side, personally she seems to prefer the open confrontation. This combination is one of the aspects which make her interesting....Interesting? Irresistible...

I didn't know anything about her or the story either.

I just like people that are completely honest with me about what they think, even if they are my mortal enemies. I hated Cerberus in ME1, but Miranda and Jacob's honesty in the beginning made me trust them, even if I didn't trust Cerberus itself and never trusted TIM for a moment.

I guess I could say that because of the way Miranda acted in the beginning, I could trust her to be herself. And because to me she seemed to be a straightforward, honest person, that meant I could trust her.

Of course, this was just first impressions. I could have been wrong, but I usually trust more easily people who aren't overly friendly in the beginning but say what's on their mind than those who are very friendly and usually avoid saying what they think. I guess it's just my modus operandi.

Oh, she can certainly be deceptive. But I think that if she wanted to deceive Shepard she would have done it right from the start.

Yeah she is not one to play nice and tell you what you want to hear that is for sure.

Speaking of her speaking her mind: another thing about the Ashley confrontation on Horizon that I found sorta weird is that Miranda will be back there commenting on what Ashley is saying...and Ash and Shep just completely ignore her the whole time.

Haha no worries I was pretty much the same. It was an awesome moment to see that in the end she knew Shepard was doing what was right.

Yeah, I guess that's just a limitation of the game because of the possible squad mate choices.

If it was really happening, I could see Ashley starting to insult Miranda and Miranda making even more snide comments about Ashley.

Shep would just be at a loss for words. :P

EDIT: added quote for clarity.

I really liked Miranda. During my first playthough I went with Tali (after having sorta planned on sticking with Ash, that plan went out the window after first contact with Tali), but Miranda struck me as cool enough to start up a character from scratch from ME1. I think the Miranda romance works really well with a Shep who didn't have a romance the first time around.

Not a good start to the day.  My Xbox just ruined my mass effect 2 game, put a huge scratch on it.
Now it won't read it anymore.  Now I have to go get another one.(sigh)Posted Image

That would be horrible if down the line in ME3 she just rats you out to TIM in a really bad situation. Thankfully I think BW won't do that haha I hope.

It has crossed my mind. Hopefully if BW were stupid enough to do that it'll be possible to paragon your way out of it and get her loyal again.

The whole destroy the Collector base thing was just a test of loyalty!  Now you failed and Miranda is plotting to kill you...which is the surprise beginning to ME3, you load up the game and you die.

Man...this is why my original X-Box will probably be my last console.  I had nothing but trouble with it.  Pity because it was sorta fun to sit there and play KOTOR on my couch.
