I don't want another new cast of characters. There are already too many - I think ME3 should largely concentrate on wrapping the existing characters' stories up instead of making new ones. As for Miranda, if her role in ME3 is as Garrus' is in ME2, that'd be OK. His story and missions are about as long as Miranda's and he's romanceable, he only doesn't have much of a role in the main plotline.jtav wrote...
What I mean is that she'll be less prominent than she was in the second game. She won't be the most important female. I expect a new character to take that role. Best case scenario, she'll have about as big a role as Garrus does in ME2 (which is nothing to sneeze at).Worst case, she'll end up like Bastila: hugely important in one game, minor in the second. My guess (and hope) is that she'll end up more like Garrus, Yvonnne's schedule permitting.
Preferable, of course, would be a bigger role.
Edited to add:
And if Miranda dies at the end of ME2, I want a Lazarus Project for her. Really, it would only be fitting!
Worth pointing out: KOTOR2 was a seperate developer. (Still didn't stop them from bringing HK-47 back, I suppose.) And, more importantly, was an entirely seperate plot; ME3 is continuing Shepard's story.
And speculating on ME3's cast of characters is a favorite parlor game of this board. Miranda's role in ME3 will probably be smaller then it is in ME2, if only because her ME2 role is so large and integral. I think one of the devs compared the ME series with Indiana Jones, where there's a different main lady in each movie but Indy ends up with one. (And part of why ME is awesome is that you, the player, get to pick which one.) In fact, part of the reason I'm upbeat about her return in ME3 is that her role in ME2 is so integral, her presence establishes continuity with the second game (just like Tali/Garrus=continuity with first game.)
So if Miranda's role is as big as Garrus in ME3 (or Thane, or any other romance-able squadmate not tied into the main plot), I'll be pretty happy. She might have a larger role in DLC if Bioware decides to tie up loose ends with her father/Cerberus before ME3. (Which I suspect they might like to do, so ME3 can be primarily focused on the Reapers.)
