Hale plays Shepard differently than how Meer does. One example I can think of is when you tell Reegar on Haestrom to stand down. Meer shouts the order, like he's daring Reegar to tell him no. Hale plays it much more cool, and emphasizes it more than barking it.



There are other examples, can't remember them all, and there were some when I felt that Meer got the character better than Hale. Still, both are phenomonal actors and I can't wait to see their performances in ME3.

Anybody here write fanfic? I've been kicking around a few Miranda ideas. Curiously, the only romantic one also involves Miranda dying on the suicide mission. I don't know if I want to deal with the angst. The other is more about Miranda dealing with Cerberus' dark side.

I am working on a Miri fic right now.  It might take a few weeks since it seems to be fairly story extensive along with the more erotic content.

Oh, awesome. Sex is all well and good, but story is even better.

What was wrong with that?  He delivers the tender sweet lines better than he does the flirty lines.

Of course Meer is awesomely hilarious at being renegade d-bag Shepard.

Don't get me wrong, I believe Meer and Hale are both really good actors. In my opinion though I think Meer did a better job.

As I said Meer does the tender parts of the romances better than the flirty ones.

Hale absolutely oozes coyness when she flirts though.

That's probably part of why I tended towards the more tender romance lines--they just sound better. (And Shepard doesn't smile when saying them, which kills the moment almost as fast as your LI loading cross-eyed, which happened all the time in ME1.)

Mine didn't... maybe I did a real good job of creating Chris in ME1... better than I coud have hoped. The only real wierd look he gives is the smile/head shake to Garrus' stress relieving talk.

Well, I had a custom Shep and his smile didn't look as creepy as the Default Shepards. But, that was my personal thought. :/

I had a custom male shep...and frankly he looked even creepier smiling...but I decided to go to default Shep. It just feels better looking at the promo material and have it be my Shep.

Miranda became acceptable to me by the end of the game but could never really cross over into likable. Something about the way she wouldn't admit that what Cerberus did to Jack was wrong.

Huh?  She never said what happened to Jack was ok.  What she said was it was a cell gone rogue and the evidence you find there confirms they were out of control.  Of course the original project was horrible enough but anyway.

Though to be honest, "I can't admire your mind or body?/I wouldn't mind if you'd admire my body a little bit more" is a good exchange IMO, but it's really Yvonne that brings the heat, there.

Those are exactly the lines I was thinking of- Shep just sounds like such a perv sometimes and the creepy smiles don't help. I think the saving grace in most of the Miranda romance dialogue which stopped me from just totally cracking up was the fact that Yvonne really did a solid job with all of her VA.
