Hm, just had a convo with Mordin. It's the dialog where he tells you to be careful when it comes to sex aboard the Normandy "Must be careful. Beware of bugs. Cerberus may be watching."

I lol'd so hard, which leads me to wonder: Was TIM watching Shep and Miri in the engine room? Or was the engine room the only place without bugs? :o

Is why I have WWII pics, and a premium photobucket account.

Although this is my first character love thread, I've totally geeked out on teh internets before.

I was reading the front page of this thread. I am very impressed by the high level of character analysis on there. It's a tad more significant than the analysis seen in Tali's thread.

And an interpretation of a Rober Frost poem! Damn, you guys must be well-read.

Thank you. I really like Iedra's write-up; we just got it last night.

And the Tali thread is no slouch in character analysis; KFD_Case's love letter to Tali is quite compelling and well-written.

Ieldra, great write up. Definitely sums up everything I think about Miranda really well.

I'm curious---are you digging through the old pages, or did you see I put that on the front page because it's so awesome? It's like the Miranda Manifesto.

Getting up to speed on the thread. It takes a while. Haven't been online most of the day. Travelling to visit my parents.

But yeah, it's almost Dogma. :innocent:

Also, while I do understand why you might hesitate to side with Miranda in the fight with Jack, Com, I have to say I didn't. And it had nothing to do with the romance. Now, I think that they are both right and wrong regarding different aspects of their discussion. And I like Jack, unlike many people.

I have several reasons. First, when you talk to Miranda after you release Jack, she says that what happened to Jack was a mistake, but not one of hers. Sure, it's an understatement, but still the truth. Second, during the whole mission, Miranda constantly displays disgust at what happened at the facility. She defends Cerberus, but she still considers the whole thing very wrong. But these were not the reasons that made up my mind.

Third, the one that made up my mind, was that I could clearly see that it was Jack who marched straight into Miranda's office with the sole purpose of picking a fight. I didn't like that gesture on her part.

But I guess different things rub different people in different ways. :P

I'm gonna FR some people in this thread, I need to get some on these forums lol.

By the way, shinobi's Miri tribute video was awesome, captured the essence of Miri in a way.

Of course he was watching. Eccentric trillionares like that love to be voyeurs even more than participating. He must have felt Like God watching Adam and Eve going at it for the first time.

It was. But that was the only bit of character analysis we got. This thread is a little more voluminous that department.

Ah another HOI player, that explains it haven't touched it for a while, maybe once they make historical mods for it and fix some of the bugs I'll go back.

Back on topic, I think Miri's track from the OST rocks

The more I think about it, the more I think the Miranda's romance cold have benefited from two versions of the love scene, a la Jack. The current version seems geared more to a Shepard who does just want to get Miranda into bed. My Shepard went out of his way to be as romantic and tender as the dialogue allowed, and I want a love scene that reflects that. *debates whether to rewrite scene fo fanfic*

I can see your point. What happened to Jack is pretty horrifying. I actually like Jack too, and I'm looking forward to trying her romance path. I think me (and most players) are sort of initially moved by her situation, and Miranda's seeming reluctance to admit 'her' 'true' version of Cerberus could be responsible. On the other hand, the already rage-prone Jack is really pissed off, and she wants to take out some aggression on the nearest visible symbol of Cerberus, who is, of course, 'the cheerleader.' And in the confrontation it's clear that Jack is spoiling for a fight, and Miranda's just passively deflecting her biotics. Miranda's not personally or even remotely responsible for what happened to Jack. So I can see the logic of leaning towards Miranda in this situation.

And I didn't like this paragon-out as much as I liked the Tali/Legion one. "Focus on the mission" was ok, but I would've preferred, "You're both tools of Cereberus," but Miranda's just not there yet according to the game's pacing. I think part of the reason I found the Miranda romance more satisfying is because I played ME2 with more of a 'roleplaying' mindset in mind; in ME1 it was more like, "I'm gonna romance Ashley, I'll make sure to get all the conversations and not freak her out." DAO really put me in more of an RP mindset, which I carried over to ME2. (And really, your LI is as pure an RP decision in the game as you're gonna get. You don't get extra resources or stat bonuses for it.)

I figured at least one person would know it, lol.

But Hoi3 still has so many problems, I can't believe they released it in it's state. I wrote that right around release, so it was v 1.0, and they're in 1.3 now, but they still haven't fixed a lot of the serious problems.

EU3 is in pretty good shape, though.

This train runs on love...that, along with corn chips and processed nacho cheese. But mostly love, which is how we sustain our momentum.

I agree with this about as much as anyone can agree with anything.

They kind of made it seem like a sex fling. I agree, they should've let you make it deeper.

I dont know if it is a fling she doesn't want you to die, so that means she probably likes you and wants to date long term. Thats how I see it atleast. If it is a fling who cares if Shepard survives or not theirs no emotional attachment.

I started off quite fond of her but by the time i hit the Omega 4 relay on my second play through, i had a strong dislike of her. I seriously considered killing her off but would rather save all my squad mates. That alone saved her.

I totally disagree - I think the scene was very well done. But then again, it is all how you interpret it.

I can understand how you see it as "fling" sex - but I saw a lot more - and the main thing that cue'd me off was the very beginning.

Mainly;

After he turns her around, then the passion sets in and they let loose. But the beginning part is total intimacy between the pair. Their faces touch, they look into each other's eyes, and the hug to the tummy spoke volumes to me about how much they care about their relationship.
