Haha, that was good Prudii. GREAT to see another Englishman here!

Why thank you!

Anyway, just a thought - is Miranda The Stig?

Some say she's just a genetically perfect woman, and that figure is illegal on some asari worlds,

All we know is she's called Miranda.

Can't be, if the Stig had a figure like that I'd still watch Top Gear.

Ahem.
Rule Miranda! Miranda rules the thread! Miri never, never, never will be a slave!

That work for you andy?

...Not even if she and Shep were to...roleplay a little? ;)

What happens in their bedrooms (or engine room) stays there! Posted Image
(Although to be honest, I can't see my MaleShep being opposed to it.... hmmm...Posted Image)

Aye another fellow 'Englander' here, in Sheffield.

"Where theres muck theres brass, where there is Miri there is class" :D

As for the earlier conversation about how everyone knows who Shep is seeing, it's all EDIs fault. If in doubt blame it on the AI ;)

But seriously, I'm really surprised that they used different German VAs, rather then the same VA. For movies, I know that they often dub famous actors using the same VA for each movie.

I have no idea whether they used different German VAs between ME1 and ME2. I only know that in both games, I found the German maleShep a bit better than the English (I tried ME1 in English once, but as opposed to ME2 I had to double-install and switch by renaming directories, which always messed up the engine .ini so I got the dreaded Realtek HD sound bug), while it was the opposite for almost every other character.

Having said that, I'm just coming off a ME2 session. The longer I play ME2, the better it gets. At first I was uncomfortable with the shooter mechanics and other reduced rpg elements, but it does work all together very well. The only things I miss from ME1, and the only major complaints I have about ME2, are the illusion of a seamless world we had in ME1 and do not have in ME2, the hyper-linearity and small size of some of the mission levels, and the feeling that the main plot gets too little screen presence.

I still haven't reached the point of any romantic Miranda scene. It does get annoying. But there's a PnP RPG session coming up in 15 minutes. I'm going to introduce some ME-style Husks into my fantasy-with-pockets-of-ultratech world...

But I did shoot the waterfall scene. There's something about waterfalls and beautiful women...

Just testing my new signature, with a little quote from Carl Sagan. I think Miranda would emphatically agree with its sentiment. B)

They have FemShep avatars. But you're right, they don't use FemShep to promote the game, and they don't have a female face model like they have with VanderShep. Which is sorta unfair, and why I'd be fine with a FemShep action figure instead of Miranda. (And I consider my custom-made ManShep my 'personal canon' Shepard.)

Speaking of which, Arijharn, you changed Avatars JUST as I was clicking on this thread, lol. "Assuming control."

As awesome as Furious Ming is, he just doesn't compare to a Collector. Funny thing about 'assuming control' is that there is no Harbinger possessed Collector that I could find in the list, otherwise I'd so take it.

I liked Mark Meer's voice acting, although he doesn't seem to be able to show the same amount of subtle variations as Yvonne but that's probably because his character is... interactive, and therefore pointless to really try and make subtle inflections since the developers might not have any idea of what the player is thinking at the time. That, and maybe the line is oft repeated ("I have to go.")

Obviously, there are cases where his ability comes to the fore, like the hug interrupt.

As to who's better between Jennifer Hale or Mark Meer, I'll reserve judgement because I can't play (can't get behind, so to speak) female characters in RPG's, especially not in cinematic rpg's like Mass Effect.

I kinda want the Winter Olympics to be over so they can show the next episode of Chuck already :S

I haven't seen Chuck yet. Even though I prefer blondes and I think Yvonne is very attractive, i think she's done such a good job making Miranda come to life that I actually prefer to Miranda to Yvonne.

That said, I should reserve judgement entirely until I watch at least one episode of Chuck. Posted Image

You totally should, it's actually quite funny in places, especially the earlier season stuff and well... Yvonne is very attractive as you'll see (although obviously, your mileage on how attractive she is might totally contrast with mine, atm I'm a single 27yo male, so I'm guessing your opinion might differ drastically from mine!)

If you have some things to do in Mass Effect still, don't watch Chuck. I did the mistake of watching the first episode and now I can't think about anything else except Chuck. This 2 week wait period isn't making this any easier *sobs*

I think I am probably the only person who didn't really see the likeness between Miranda and Yvonne that easily, but after watching the show many of the faces and expressions are exactly the same. Still waiting for the Mass Effect 2 references by Adam Baldwin and Yvonne on Chuck though

WHAT IS THIS? Where did everyone go?

Anyways, I just wanted to bring something up. Before Mass Effect 2 and Miranda, I would have been okay with my Shepard getting an "ultimate sacrifice" ending in ME 3. Miranda has given Shepard a reason to live, and something to go to after all this saving the galaxy business is done.

I have to agree....

(What page was my joke about Miranda offering to have a baby with Shepard to not make the ultimate sacrifice? Seems like ages ago.)

Yep, definitely the feeling I got.

But if he dies anyway, I'm sure Miranda will be to bring him back. Figuring out how the first time was the tricky part.

We just have to make sure Miri doesn't die.

I'm currently exploring all the options in the "promise me you won't die" convo. I feel like suck a dick when I tell Miranda to keep it professional. It's obvious she's disappointed, although she won't admit it. Yvonne does such a good job with subtle hints in her voice acting. Miranda's tone of voice reveals a lot of what she's really thinking as opposed to her written lines.

I was very surprised how subtle, yet deep Yvonne's performance was. And that's the thing. One has to really pay attention to her voice and Miranda's body language to understand what she is actually communicating.

I don't want to watch Chuck, lol. I like Miranda and seeing her VA playing a RL role (no matter how terrific) will probably hurt the immersion that I like so much in the ME universe. Or at least the immersion with Miranda.

Isn't that a b*tch

lol perhaps. While I think Sarah Walker is a good character, I think her Miranda is better (at least, in terms for a mark of her acting ability, and Yvonne seems to have the whole package)

Maybe not, since i'm also a 27yo male - despite my profile picture.  But unlike you I prefer to play a female character in RPG's because it gives me the opportunity to design someone I would like.  Also, if you got to spent 30-40 hours looking at someones butt I would prefer it to be female Posted Image.  My avatar is just my favourite DA:O character.  My favourite male DO:A character doesn't want to be uploaded Posted Image

Absolutely. I think I posted a couple of days ago that the reason I love the "hug scene" so much is because Miranda is the one who instigates it and for all of her strength, both mental and physical, she wants Shepard to hold her at that moment and it's a very satisfying moment in their relationship in my opinion.

Not the place for it here, but our current government have divided this country, thus why I say English and not British.

Then to get things back on track I say this: "Ash is dead! Long live Miranda!"

In order to maintain a single Shepard in ME1 to save for Miranda I was forced to Virmire Ash. Normally Kaidan gets it, but he got saved by the fact I kept finding myself ninja romanced. Having gone into ME2 and developing the relationship with Miri I've actually found that killing Ash was the right move when I got to Horizon.

I don't know about you guys but having seen the youtube videos of the Horizon meeting, seeing the non-romance meeting between Ash and Shepard seems somewhat awkward. The handshake works better with Kaidan in my opinion.
