That's what I do! That's not the first sad Miranda scene I've posted in here. I actually had to edit one of them away because of the complaints.

I'm just seeing it replay in my head now man. The shot of Shepard falling to his doom while Miranda tries hopelessly to save him. Then a close up shot of her in utter shock. Curse those Nachos!

Yeah I think so Shepard is the last one to die, and only during the final jump

Edit: Forgot to mention thought that I do most of my posting from my iPod Touch so it's not like I don't do anything. I just always have this thread available, it's addictive.

The only way for Shepard to die as well is for basically everyone to be disloyal, which I don't know why anyone wouldn't do any of them, except of course you just want to see the death scene.

Speaking of which, I loved the Paragon ending. The blue sun behind TIM on a Samsung 1080p HDTV is just a beauty. Like Miranda

Though I do imagine she would have some choice words for him once he woke up. Before the lovin', of course.

Besides, as Shep says, "I died once before. I don't plan on doing it again." I like to think that way.

Oh no I meant for like Shepard to die, and possibly the entire squad, then everyone needs to be disloyal. But yea if you don't pick the right squadmates for the right jobs then some of your squad can die even if loyal. My first playthrough I had everyone loyal: Legion on vents, Garrus both teams, Grunt escort, and Samara biotics. No casualties. I was proud of myself! And Shep gets the Miri in the end. Hooah! Lol.

is that true?  it seems like if you bring two disloyal crew members with you to take on the human reaper...they'll both die and you'll sacrifice yourself to save joker?  or is the game structured so that doesn't happen?

Yea that's what happens, and I think it's the only way Shepard can die, but I haven't tested it yet.

As far as I'm aware if you take two non-loyal squadmates with you to fight the human-reaper then Shepard dies. Both squadmates die in the following cutscene and so there's nobody to pull Shepard up into the airlock so he lets go to save Joker and any surviving crew.

I've tested it, and that is the ony way Shepard can die. I did a play through where I had Jack ,and Legion with no loyalty. Both die after the final battle which in turns makes Shepard dies.

Actually, she wouldn't be able to.

Two reasons;

1.) She wouldn't be able to recover the body - the explosion from the Collector ship blowing up and/or Pulse blast would destroy the body indefinatly.

2.) If she left Cerberus - she wouldn't have the financial backing or medical assistance that she has at the very beginning.

As for the whole "I promise/No promises" route - I can't bring myself to make the promise. To me, it's a cocky statement - and the no promise dialogue path not only ends with a cute hug - but also makes you understand that they both know that they can die from this - and it makes the romance scene that much more special, I guess.

I couldn't let her kill Niket as well.. on all my playthroughs.. even my pathetic attempt at a Renegade (Which I deleted right after Miranda's loyalty mission.. god I felt horrible being an ass to her. Couldn't forgive myself) couldn't let her do it.

Yeah I do. I would rather sacrifice myself so that the others could get away. Especially if one of those people were Miranda.

 Just thought that I would throw out my support for Miranda because she is IMO definitely my favorite character. I don't think anyone even comes close to her really. Semper Fidelis!

If we're going to think it through logicaly, she wouldn't have been able to do it the first time. He fell to a planet, the atmosferic reentry alone would have vaporised his body.

As for the financial backing, it wouldn't cost as much because the first time they had been experimenting to find the process. Now it was a matter of replicating what worked. Lower cost and I'm sure someone with her connections could get what was needed.

As for the promise, I don't think she was looking for a real promise. I thought Miranda was looking for a declaration of intention on his part, meaning that it wasn't that he would definitely survive, but rather he intended to survive while carrying out the mission. A kind of declaration of his commitment to her.
