So, is there any good Miri-centric fan fiction (*shudders*) around yet? The kind that has decent grammar and you could actually read without feeling embarrassed and/or facepalming?
I want to know about this to. I've only been able to find a few and they were ok..but not grasping. :/

I suspect not, for the same reason we don't have fan art yet. (Someone here is working on something but I can't remember who...but it's not finished yet IIRC.)
I used to be quite the prolific writer, and the idea of ME fan-fic has crossed my mind, but it wouldn't use Miranda, or any other pre-existing charcters. (They're for the Bioware writers to play with, after all!)

I WONDER if I would've skewed it if I would've described "Somewhat" as "comparable to DAO", which I did at one point....but I'm amazed how many people want "significant" addition, with LI integral to the plot. (Which, in my mind, would include things like someone abducting your LI to use against you, or something like that.)

I'm writing as fast as I can... story extensive with erotica is harder than you think! Battling the angst flooding my life and then trying to make sure I can allow people to imagine their Shepard's with her is quite difficult right now.

Plus, with the inclusion of love interests in Mass Effect, reading a little too much risque fan fiction may haunt my psyche for weeks...

I second that! Erotica is easy in the head, but hard on paper! If only we could magically transform our thoughts into words...
oh wow, then we'd all be off 'writing'.

The quality of fan fiction tends to improve as a community around a piece of media gets larger. So far, I'd say that the current size of the community compels many possibly gifted writers from engaging in the fan fiction business for Mass Effect.

There's a reason "like a bad fanfic" is an insult, lol.
And part of why if I ever do do any fanfic (and I have an idea for something), I'm going to stay away from Shepard and his LIs.

Well, part of this is that words are an expression of your most conscious and intellectual thoughts, and love and passion are emotional drives that you're not even fully aware of; I might even go so far as to say that succumbing to that 'non-conscious, non-intellectual' element is part of the appeal. Ask me what I'm thinking about the future of the regime in Iran, and I can give you a long, detailed, well-thought out argument. Ask me why I like to look at this:

...um...I was talking about something....man, Yvonne looks great.

The moment you post a pic like that, the rest of the post just vanishes for me. It's like my mind can only perceive and contain Yvonne. Everything else is expendable information. Which is very bad if I'm trying to have a meaninful discussion.
....................Yeah, she looks amazing.

I would love it if the LIs tied into the main plot in some way- Bioware did it in BG2 (BG2 spoilers ahead) when they had your LI abducted and turned into a vampire and you had to save them. I always thought that was a neat way to get the LI into the main plot. How that would work in ME3, I have no clue.
