I actually was disappointed in a way that in the end of ME2 if you didn't save the base at the end, it's sort of assumed that you make an enemy out of TIM. I had my reasons (to which I believe are logical) and I wished there existed some way of actually arguing that with him, since I was, afterall, the man on the scene.
To me it seems that ME3 is a very solo kinda adventure, one in which you and your team are out to gather a force to face the reapers. I think it's great that the Normandy remains yours, and I see groups like the alliance at least working with you.
As for TIM, he's the kinda guy not to hold grudges I think, his whole agenda is advancing humanity, and if that means working with Shepard again I have no doubt he will... though he may not be happy about it.

Yeah even though my paragon Shep blew up the base, I quite like TIM so I didn't care for how it automatically makes him out to be the enemy if you destroy the Collector base. It seems a bit puzzling considering all of the free reign he has given you throughout the game and has generally been ok with it.
ALthough they clearly want you to think TIM is evil- what with the creepy eyes, smoking and the little fist clenching gesture he does when you talk to him at the Collector base. I just hope TIM doesn't get ticked off and take it out on Miranda in ME3....

It's so strange that one of the least developed characters (from a femsheps viewpoint) was the first one that I really warmed up to.
That's my two-bits for this thread. Y'all are so adorable. <333

Like you, I didn't really like how there was no option after destroying the base to try and reason with TIM and come to an understanding. Instead, pretty much every response was aggressive and a sort of 'screw you' to TIM. I never loved Cerberus, but I never viewed them as this supremely evil organization like a lot of other people do.
However, it wasn't something I was terribly upset about because when you're talking to him about the base after the mission, TIM acts like a spoiled child who didn't get his way. That really turned me off to him and made the 'screw you' type of options really enjoyable for my Shepard.

I'll drink to that.
I don't have the will to do another ME 2 playthrough and Chuck isn't on for like, two weeks so I was kind of going through Yvonne-in-motion withdrawl.
EDIT: @Breakdown Boy, you really should. It's actually really funny.

So, is it just me, or is the thread slowly dying? We've definitely lost momentum, at least.
Has anyone's opinion of Miranda changed or matured at all since your first playthrough or since joining this thread?
I know that after my first playthrough, I loved her and had thought a little about her motivations and her character, but after participating in this thread more, my opinions have matured and I've created reasons for even the most subtle gestures and tones.
This truly is the Miranda appreciation thread, in my opinion. Not only has it given me an outlet to voice my love for a truly great character, but by listening to everyone else's opinions and ideas, I've come to see her as a really rounded, complicated and diverse individual.

You definitely should. I started watching it after playing ME2 and I am addicted. It's my new favorite show.Breakdown Boy wrote...
Yep, I would have to rent it as in my country (South Africa) only the top rated shows make it to our TV screens (Lost, Heroes, Greys ect.) so we miss out. There is this indie DVD store in my area that get's all these DVD's that aren't mainstream in SA and they have season 1 & 2 of Chuck. So I think I'll give it a go.

I dont know if it is slowly dying... it seems to grow bye ten pages every six hours or so so that be fourty pages a day roughly....
Miranda is a very intresting character, she seems to be more significantly more "complex" than the ME1 LI's. Hopefully Bioware lets us dig into her past a little more, I want to know what it is like growing up as a "perfect" child.
EDIT: Meg you are correct the thread has lost momentum it seems but no worries we are still the second largest thread on the forum by far...

I think Bioware wanted to create a character that would be on equal footing with Shepard, and not someone that suffers from idol worship like Ash or Liara. Miranda is not awed by Shepard but rather respects his capabilities. They are both talented people and leaders where Liara and Ash are followers. I think Shepard and Miranda would form a more balanced relationship with both being equals.

Have you seen this post
Is it just me or does the Tali romance
feel like a copy+paste from Liara's ME1 romance?
Before
some Talimancers flame me(Assuming they come on this thread, I doubt it
but you never know.) hear me out:
There are so many
similiaraties between the Romances it's ridiculious:
1.
Both Liara and Tali are nervous, shy and geeky. Usually get embrassased
easily by Shepard and from the start have an attraction to him.
2.
Shepard rescues Liara from a mining facility that's abandoned from the
Geth. Shepard also rescues Tali from a old Quarian colony that's
abandoned from the Geth. There also both doing research on something.
3.
Liara's mother dies in ME1.(Only Shepard had no option to comfort
her...) Tali's father dies in ME2.
4. Both of them are
pretty young. (Tali's only 24, Liara's only 106.)
5. And
of course both of them are the only female LI's that are Aliens.
I
have a suspicion that the Writers just ripped off Liara's romance from
the first game. Talimancers have been screwed over without even
realizing it. I wonder if Tali will become a criminal overlord too in
the next game. I mean, Liara used to be the most popular love interest
and now Tali is...

As much as I hate to say it, we have slowed down a bit... but we're still kicking.
And as for my opinion of Miranda, I hate to admit, but when I first saw her I was like "OMG Yvonne! Shep want!!" and I really didn't give much thought to her. But then I actually started to get to know her and I was pleasantly suprised at the depth of her, and how well Yvonne was able to portray her and make her believable, I knew she had some serious acting chops, but I couldn't help but be surprised.
And that's the story about how I ended up here.
