I think Bioware wanted to create a character that would be on equal footing with Shepard, and not someone that suffers from idol worship like Ash or Liara. Miranda is not awed by Shepard but rather respects his capabilities. They are both talented people and leaders where Liara and Ash are followers. I think Shepard and Miranda would form a more balanced relationship with both being equals. 

I agree. When I first played, I didn't really think about how Miranda was more of an equal with Shepard than the other LIs. But a lot of people have brought it up, and it's really true. Miranda doesn't "need" Shepard. She could continue in life without him, but I don't think she would be as happy without him. And the same applies to Shepard. They complete each other, but not in a  "oh, I'll die without you" sort of way. They just complement each other perfectly and bring out the best in one another. That's why I love Miranda and the relationship she has with Shepard.

Has anyone's opinion of Miranda changed or matured at all since your first playthrough or since joining this thread?

I know that after my first playthrough, I loved her and had thought a little about her motivations and her character, but after participating in this thread more, my opinions have matured and I've created reasons for even the most subtle gestures and tones.

This truly is the Miranda appreciation thread, in my opinion. Not only has it given me an outlet to voice my love for a truly great character, but by listening to everyone else's opinions and ideas, I've come to see her as a really rounded, complicated and diverse individual.

Yea,it seems that ether some Miranda topics are alittle dried up or playing other games at the moment(ex,Bioshock 2 Dante's Inferno),and people could have things to do,also it's probally we don't have that much new Miri/Yvonne pics compared to before.I finished Bioshock 2 on Valentines day so I can post in this thread more often.Also,I agree with the points you made;Over my time in this thread my appreciation for her/Yvonne is more and abit more mature(Ok some of my comments were not that mature but I was just joking at those times).I still see her as my shep's equal(even when I started posting somwhere aliitle past page 20)but being here made me see her more diversed invidual.

@ Meg. The thread has slowed down a little bit (at one point I had to go through like 15 pages when I woke up, now it's just around 6/7) but the Miri love is still strong around here. My opinion of her is still the same: looooove! If only we could get some cool DLC that featured Miri, that would give us all a nice boost, right?

I was hoping to play some Mass Effect 2 earlier but I was pushed for time, then I realsed if I blue myself early I could fit more into my day...;-)

EDIT: I was so intent on replying to Andy's post that I forgot to add an addendum to my last post acknowledging Adam Baldwin in ME 2/Chuck. I feel bad for forgetting Casey, he's my favorite.

I thought it would be an obvious answer, but no one has said it yet. I'd have to say Mordin. I could totally see him as George Sr.'s prison roomate or something.
