Forgive me for this rant, but you know what irritates me arguably the most on these forums? How people say things are 'badly designed' because of it's 'console roots.' This is the most asinine statement I've ever seen on these forums, programmatically speaking the xbox360 has a lot of things in common with a PC (and sure you have to change things like input devices etc) but... rwoar!.

Ok I'll bite on this- I've got the PC version of ME2 and really have no major issues with it but I can understand what some people are complaining about. I would not say its "badly designed" at all, but certain aspects of the game don't play up the strengths of the PC as a platform as much as some would like. Simple things like having key binds for the weapons or being able to mouse scroll or double click on menus, things that were in the PC version of ME1 but not in ME2.

I like the "oriental" style of the Mass Effect Galaxy art work (for example, here: http://images4.wikia.../1d/Miranda.png), and we have to a Miri ration in the Redemption comics (i am less enthusiast here, although the 4cover is great)

The PC ME1 version was quite superior to the ME2 version in terms of control scheme. The ME2 Xbox version is way, way better then the ME1 Xbox version--it's a pity they haven't integrated the PC features well enough. (I had the same problem with Jade Empire PC--a great RPG and fun game overall, but an obvious console port.)

Though I can't imagine playing DAO on anything but  a PC. (It felt like a mini-RTS to me at some points, and RTS=PC.)

Very few games actually play better on a PC. As much as I like aspects of the PC version of Dragon Age, the control scheme is far better on the consoles. I can't even imagine ME on the PC. I don't care for shooters on the PC... I keep hearing how much more superior the mouse/keyboard is for a shooter, but I've found the dual analog to be far more precise and easier to use.

RTS and games like Civilisation are better on the PC though. I tried a few on consoles and it wasn't pretty.

I'll be interested to see if ME: Redemption's Miranda on the interior artwork looks more like Yvonne, or more like ME: Galaxy Miranda. Liara's cover is great, but the interior is a lot less impresive IMO.

(Plenty of X-Men artists are still drawing Professor X as Patrick Stewart...)

Thoughts?

Worth it for his version of "I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite store on the Citadel!" alone IMO.

(Although "Big, stupid jellyfish" comes close.)

Just wanted to post here to voice my support too.

Miranda's definitely the most interesting LI / squadmate out of the group. I looked at some of the other potential options on a few other playthroughs but just couldn't veer away from her.

Its really a matter of preference- certain games like sports games you obviously play on a console- its just better that way. But I have to totally disagree with you on DAO playing better on a console- maybe if your PC can't handle it, but it was designed for the PC and IMO plays so much better than the console version (and looks better too).

Control wise ME plays better on the 360, but its not bad on the PC either- I just love mouse and keyboard for any shooter- its more accurate and you don't have to mess with any aim assist nonsense.

Huh? mouse scrolling weapons is still in the PC version, well it works for me anyway.

One thing I can slightly agree with on the rant side is some of the other keybind misses that aren't in ME2 though like the journal and squad screen. I've got use to crouch, sprint and use all being on the same button but that is probably because I swapped the space and shift keybinds around as prefer the pause being on the space like it was before and the shift for sprinting.

Back on topic, as far as my Jack Shepherd whom has Miri as an LI, I've decided that he sees Cerberus as the only group who is taking him seriously now, so he has decided that the Cerberus Totalitarian Unit (CTU hehe) needs to make a stand for the galaxy. If the namby pamby human council that he put in place has got an issue with that well, he don't care... DAMMIT!

I just hope Miri will forgive him for keeping the collector base :o

Unfortunately, having read both issues of Redemption, MIranda really doesn't look like Yvonne at all in the comic- Miri just looks like a generic looking brunette with her trademark Cerberus outfit. Definitely more akin to Galaxy than in ME2. I've generally not been too impressed with Redemption (besides the artwork).

Not saying that it isn't better on the PC in most respects.  What I said was "control scheme".  I don't like the mouse/keyboard input for moving, or the tab issue... I like the hotkey, but that is about it in terms of the control scheme.

As for shooters and accuracy... I don't use the auto aim or assist functions for most games and I personally find the mouse and keyboard to be far less accurate or stable.  I am a sniper with a console controller in my hands, but put a mouse and keyboard at my fingertips and all I'm good for is friendly fire.

Yeah, I'm having that problem with my FemShep playthrough, lol...the male LIs are a better group overall IMO.

Will probably end up with Garrus, though. (Though I'm tempted to see if there's some amazing revelation to Jacob's character that you only get through his romance. In ME1 I did that with Kaidin.)

I agree completly,I prefer shooters on systems and RPGs on PCs(For instance mod capeblities like Morrowind/Dragon Age Origins/Oblivion/Fallout 3/etc.Can extend a Rpg's lifespan tenfolds).Just my two cents on the subject.

So you're good at controls you are good at... and bad at controls you are bad at. This is shocking to me. :P I'm the exact opposite. Deadly accurate with mouse, hopeless at controller.

Seriously though, lets leave the PC vs console war to another thread. Noone ever convinces the other to change so its utterly pointless.

I was referring to being able to scroll down when going through menus or reading text, like in the codex. But most of the controls aren't bad, its just a bit of an annoyance not having weapons hot keys or the journal shortcut key, like you said.

I love playing my Renegade Shepard as an intergalactic Jack Bauer- whenever you go to the council and they deny the Reapers, it reminds me so much of 24- you've got a guy who has single handedly saved the universe/world many times over, but nobody listens to him. I just want to scream at the Turian counselor "We are running out of time, DAMMIT!"

I'm not trying to belittle PC's or anything.  I built a brand new custom machine just for Dragon Age, The Witcher, and a few exclusives that interested me in the next year or so (Cryostasis being the latest release).  I just prefer consoles.  But then I game for stories and consoles seem to streamline the narrative experience with more ease.

Aw, crap. I think I might be starting to prefer Miranda over Tali... Oh well, I guess it isn't all that bad. ^^

Quick question: has any of you ever managed to have Miri be the that 'falls' during the end sequence?

I think you have to select her first when you choose your final squad (not 100% sure if that's what triggers it, but it worked for me, which was nice)
