Tali was to meh and was just a yes woman. And Jack was too !!!!!, and made you feel like a babysiter,.... and a shrink.  It really didn't help that Miranda foiled Sheperd so well for numerous reasons, there was just no reason to pursue the others. Pretty much from the first time you meet Miranda it pretty much set that she must be with Shepherd.

She immediately follows you, but you have to actually gain her trust. And despite her conflicted upbringing she manages to somehow embrace it, and become stronger b/c of it.  She knew she was engineerd to be berfect, and never felt sorry for her self, yet she never let it get to her head and develop a superority complex.

In alot of ways she reminded me of shepherd. Enginered. Didn't really want to be apart of Cerberus but came to accept it an excell there. Like the council, she had to gain the trust of her superior in TIM. She was also a natural leader, not in the capacity of shepherd but she did lead lazarus. She was just a determined and driven as shepherd.

She basically had the pefect personality...

My Shepard needs a person to stand beside him with, not follow (even though such a person is impossible to find Miranda comes pretty damn close). Or, take a look at Shepard's reasoning for their breakup if you choose to do so:

Shepard: "This won't work, Miranda. We're too much alike. We need to stay professional."

How pathetic a reason is that? Miranda and Shepard (mine at least) both lost so much and were each used by their respected organizations. The difference is in ME1 Shepard nearly broke all ties with the Council and the Alliance. In ME2 he severs them completely. Miranda severed ties with her father and by the end of ME2 one option is for her to resign her position at Cerberus. Add in that my Shepard is paragade (same as her) and that we lost people we cared about and it really is a good match.

Also what the hell is up with your ME1 LI not doing whatever it takes to keep humanity safe from the reapers? It wasn't like you were committing genocide (unless you count the collectors). It was in self defense and by the end Shepard definitely had the option to tell TIM to go to hell. Still, for whatever reason, they didn't. However Miranda, Tali, and all the ME2 LI's were willing to go through with it. So really, what does that say?

I thought I would Love Miranda, and I did :)

sure her character is not the most original, but to me she pulls the strong yet
vulnerable women perfect.

I think she is the perfect LI for the story my Shepard has
woven so far.

Kelly is ok, but a better flirtmance

Jack to me is yuck (no offence to those shaved headed,
tattooed felons out there)

Tali is to much of a little sister type.

Liara I found too boring

And Ashley to me is to much of a bigot and a
racist/xenophobe whom holds herself to much like a man.

Lol, it's ok, agreeing is a good feeling though! :)

But yes, I definitely feel the exact same way. To be honest, I was still a little shocked when Miranda resigned at the end...I know she was trusting Shepard more and more by the minute, but wow, I didn't know she had put that much faith in him, and that made me go "Wow!" She was already my favorite by that time, but once that happened, she couldn't do anything else that would've made me like her even more! lol

I agree with you about Tali though. Nothing against her character, but I didn't feel anything with the romance. I have a fiancee and we've been together for about 6 years, and let me tell you, she actually did used to agree with me on EVERYTHING at first. I couldn't take it anymore. Finally she realized that she has her own character and own thoughts and views on things. That's how I see Tali. She'll do anything for Shepard, no matter what.

I liked being worthy of Miranda...basically lol.

I didn't see her resigning with Cerberus coming either. I was very pleasantly surprised. I'm really looking forward to what they do with her character in ME3. I had assumed she would stay with Cerberus and that kind of bummed me out. I wasn't sure how big a role she would play, but now that she has resigned and has nowhere to go except with Shepard, I have high, high hopes for their future.

she truly is the only one. of all the characters in the ME universe, NPC or squadmate, she's the only one I would have wanted to hook up with. so i'm glad she's a LI lol. and like so many of you said she does feel like the only one for Shepard. their personalities are so alike in a way. it feel just right.i'm so glad they added that bit during the last mission when she ditch TIM to side with you and what is right. God it was awesome!

yeah i really hope they don't go the low road and scratch everyone from ME2 because there is a possibility for each of them to die at the end (a la Ash/Kaiden/Wrex) that would suck...especially after the effort they made of making her so interesting and making us attached to her character. Cmon Bioware think of something brilliant.

On the bright side, contrary to ME1, ME3 is going to be much more closer to ME2 I suspect. I mean they confirmed they are already working on it and they did have to wait after ME1 (even it was a planned trilogy) because it could have flopped. that s why there are so many changes. you can also hear in several interviews form the development team that Miranda was one of their favorite characters so there is hope!

I hope Bioware really fleshes out the romances in ME3 and don't make them a little part on the side. It would be nice if, instead of having to talk to Miranda after every mission and right before the final battle getting laid again, if they would actually ACT like LIs throughout the entire game. Maybe being able to initiate a dialogue asking her to dinner one night (like with Kelly) or different scenarios couples would actually do would be nice. And if they actually kissed more than just in the final pre-battle-sex-scene. I'm not asking that anything be detracted from the main story. But it would be cool if their banter was included, like when Shep said he wanted to get her into bed and she called him an ass or when (if you went renagade) you kissed her spontaneously and she sort of got flustered and asked what that was.

Bioware is brilliant at creating really engaging characters and I would love to see them shine like no other in ME3.

i totally agree. the whole ''lets do it like there is no tomorrow before the final mission'' is getting pretty old. the characters are so interesting it would be a nice change of pace in the story if you could indeed develop those relations in a meaningful way and some flirthy stuff that can end up being a one-nighter.

though in ME2 the whole relationship thing was done way better than in the first one so lets hope they push it even further and make it worth it for ME3, since it's also the last one.

i also LOVE the idea of being able to ''pursue'' your relationship after the suicide mission. Like bringing up your LI to your cabin and...well u know...It's a step in the right direction for ME3

I don't think they'll scratch all of the characters from ME2 simply because the Tali fanbase would riot and no one wants that.

That's what my man gripe in ME1 and M2 about romances. Sure you talked and had the endgame bang, but outside of that....not much. They added a little with inviting them to your cabin, but....

I think there was part in the suicide mission when Miranda and they other squadmate fell or soemthing, and shepherd just go up and Miranda was down, and he didn't even try to help her up or anything....little things like that.

DAO did a slightly better job of this, by making it possible to get the scene relatively early. It felt more like the relationship lasted for a large chunk of the game, and in a few cases, there were even follow-on conversations.

But Miranda always says she'll be by "when things are quiet." It doesn't get much quieter then planet scanning, so I like to think Shepard is getting all kinds of crazy biotic genetically engineered nookie while I'm trying to come up with an extra 5k units of Palladium or whatever. Makes the whole exercise seem more worthwhile.

You're right. The romances in ME2 felt way more developed to me than in ME1. The whole intercom system that was added to your room after the suicide mission was a nice step in the right direction also. I have faith that Bioware won't let us down, but they aren't mind readers so we need to be very vocal and very specific about what we want and hope that they agree and are able to implement these changes.

you're right Biowaware is doing an incredible job at listening to their fans(so far anyway...). It's in part because of this that Garrus and Tali made it as LIs in ME2. So it's up to us to remind them that Miranda is worth at least another game!!
