Just out of curiosity, how do people rationalize ashley being a better character than Miranda? Serious question, and please explain it with ashley's good point rather than trying to zero in on miranda's bad points.
I actually like both characters. And there was a good post some time ago (can't find it atm) contrasting the two of them, contrasting how Ashley is all fiery and emotional while Miranda is icey and calculating. Miranda is scientific while Ashley is more spiritual. Ashley is openly flirtatious towards a male Shepard right away, where it takes time for Miranda to admit her feelings (or, even, that she feels at all.)
The two also have a lot in common, too. Both care deeply about their sisters (does no ME female have a brother?) And both of them have to come to terms with their family legacy. And both of them have some micsconceptions that Shepard has the option to change their minds about (Ash about aliens, Miranda about Cerebrus.)
