So my xbox is broken (again (again (again))). .. . obviously,

I can;t sign in on xbox live on my gamertag, but my brother can sign in on his gamertag.  Also, he can only be online on his gamertag if the xbox is at the dashboard.

My playstation works fine. . . .

that actually sounds like a network problem, might want to look into it. (Not saying the 360 doesn't break way too often, just trying to be helpful in case there's something wrong with your network.

Do you use wireless? I heard certain modems don't perform well with the xbox.

Most people here have any Xbox 360 and they expect you to shut up and deal with it and want you to blame yourself for your 360 breaking. Also don’t mention a PS3 then you’ll start a console war lol

I would buy a PC..with amount of time that xbox360 consoles break down. It's almost like they make it to overheat to breakdown so you have to buy another system. PS3 might be good, I heard blue ray is nice and doesn't break down. Though I think you should invest in a good PC

Video Graphics card top of line 299-500

Processer- 200

Addtional fans, tax, etc- 50-100

There you got yourself a top of the line computer

Fair enough. But the breaking down of Xbox sure is tedious.

It is wildly different from console games in that it requires a bit of actual understand of the components you are playing with.

Or is it that you associate it wildly with paperwork?

I don't like computer gaming because it is too expensive, Even if you buy all the stuff Joshd21 listed, it will be outdated in a month. 3rd gen. consoles are planned to last about ten years before the 4th gen comes out.

Huh? You seem to be missing a lot of parts there buddy. Where's the case, HDD, DVD, sound card, motherboard, RAM, etc.?

There are some pc users who are under the impression that consoles are more expensive actually. On the xbox rto thread, someone was saying that the console costs 600 bucks and you have to upgrade it every 3 months! @.@

The console can actually cost $600 dollars or more after everything, completely depending on what you get, but you don't have to upgrade it, ever.

How could a console cost you 600 dollars?

PS3 new with controller = 299

Controller number 2 = 50

HDMI cable = 20

Headset and KB = 100

Grand total, everything Sony branded 460 bucks. So if you actually buy cheaper headset and kb or just plug your pc's kb you don't need the extra expense, and the hdmi cable can be cheaper.

Elite or a PS3 runs about $300 plus HDMI cable $20 plus optional 2nd controller $40, and a game $60.

Roughly $420 bucks, unless you need to get a ton of other stuff. EDIT I forgot about needing a headset for PS3, I had an old one from my PS2 that worked to my surprise, but depending on features you can get a bluetooth for 20 bucks online if you look places other than bestbuy and such, I got a motorola a few months ago only costs me 23.99 free shipping. So 440 or so.

Personally I just think you're on here to try and cause arguments, PCvsConsole, PS3vs360  etc.
BTW your 360's connectivity is dependent on the reliability of your service, modem, router(if applicable), and signal strength(if wireless), failure of the above does not constitute failure of your 360. Maybe you should make sure your ports are open for your 360 to utilize Live properly.
