For my adept I chose slam. Its instant and it deals a load of damage. I love using it.
What bonus talent did you guys use for Adepts?

Reave for healing purposes I needed it

Reave (and don't max out warp) is the highest DPS talent in the game (biotic) but it makes warp ( a baseline talent with - allbeit less dmg and no healing regen/bonus) obsolete
Warp Ammo is great since most of your abilities (ok all of them) are biotic, which means it affects people in singularities or pull. and does more baseline ammo dmg (that + AR is great)
Dominate is not bad either for CC as 70% of enemies are humanoids.

warp ammo is a great adapt talent, almost always useful and gives you something to do between warps.

I kept switching between Fortification and Warp ammo. I saw no point in Slam unless you didn't upgrade Pull and Throw.

Can you angle Reave? For some reason I thought you couldn't, which makes warp still very useful.

Am I really the only person who loves Energy Drain? I really think it's the best for an Adept. It complements Warp, replenishes your shields, and has half the cooldown time that Barrier/Fortification/Geth Shield have, so it doesn't delay the use of your other powers so much.

Slam is just so fun to use. They go up and they come crushing down. So much fun.

Nope, can't angle reave, but there is really no need, it hits the target instantly assuming it's not fully behind cover.

I don't like Reave because it doesn't have the biotic explosion effect that Warp does. I find that Singularity/Warp is really helpful for taking out groups of enemies. Also, Tempest+Warp Ammo covers all your bases.

I tried Reave (among other things) and ended up changing it for warp ammo. I just didn't like the fact that it's function was similar to warp but it didn't have the "heat seeking" effect. I may go back to it again and give it another try but I also really like the added damage of warp ammo.

I'm with shelf on Energy Drain, it does a tremendous job complimenting Warp and Singularity.

Energy Drain (evolve to Area). Accept no substitute unless you rock out with allies that sport Area Overload. Adept's only weakness are enemies with shields, this skill instantly strips shields of enemy mooks provided you did not neglect your upgrades.
If you do rock out with people like Garrus, Jacob, or Miranda; I suggest an Reave, Ammo, or Fortification/EnergyShield/Barrier are all decent choices.
Reave is only significantly powerful on Collector Missions (all 3 of them).

I went with Geth Shield Boost. I figure with that up. Husks can huddle around me all day while I use singularity to crush them. The trick to using GSB/Barrier/Fort is to put them up before you go into combat. Most fights don't last an entire minute, and you can throw those up and have the cooldown gone by the time you start combat.

I went with Area Reave for my Adept on the first run, but I'm thinking I might respec and try going with Energy Drain or Warp Ammo when I do a New Game+ playthrough.

Reave (spec to area reave) for husk and/or collector missions. Energy drain/Warp ammo for everything else.

Only area reave, which means you guys are taking the significantly weaker version against tougher enemies.Orlfane wrote...

Plus it doesn't "explode" like warp does when you pull an enemy or singularity it.
I suggest Energy Drain so you can kill shields.

Somebody finally said it.
In any case, I don't think Reave is ever worth it. Warp is just so much better, and you should be using Singularity to create some nice explosions (use warp on the enemy drawn in by the singularity). Reave is like wasting a slot.
On the missions with shielded enemies, take Energy Drain. On the missions with enemies who have barriers or armor, take warp ammo or barrier. I dunno what the best choice for Garrus' recruitment mission is, because you fight all kind of mercs, just take one of the three I mentioned. Barrier will probably work best since it'll add to your survivability, which you'll need a lot of on that mission.

Actually area reave is a good bonus. You don't always want to use singularity. Singularity has a nasty habit of throwing enemies on top of or behing you. And area reaved is a bit of crowd control too.

Reave for some reason just seems a bit too evil for my paragon players to use...usually go with slam, though.
Once i get my renegade through ME1, though, the fun begins...

For an Insanity Adept against organics (which is most of your opponents), Reave allows you to keep firing your gun out of cover for FAR longer than any other power out there. It has half the cooldown of Barrier, but attaches to it a nice AoE damage. You do far more sustained dps with it due to the sheer amount of time shooting you gain than any other power out there (not to mention damaging multiple enemies in one go) and you can use Heavy Singularity to contain one particular pesky problem while you blast/CC the rest with Area Reave.
You also get to do your AoEs without setting up Warp Explosion combo. And if melee is rushing you, you do NOT have time to set up WE before being overrun.
Also note that Area Reave with duration upgrades does similar total damage to targets with protection in comparison to Heavy Warp. So you're not at all sacrificng damage in any way shape or form, though you still want to invest in Heavy Warp against synthetics (not that you've got anywhere else to put the points anyways). Sure you miss out the 33% or so increased power with Heavy Reave (and around 90 health instant regen), but the ability to strip armor/barriers from multiple people is too hard to ignore.
In any case, using Reave also now allows you to take Bastion, since the +% duration increase also applies to Reave. Makes your Heavy Singularity last that much longer, sometimes actually allowing you to alternate between Reave and Singularity because it lasts so long. You get minor health boost and interrogation scores, but those are just icing in the cake.
As for changing your powers, well I guess its worth it if you like mining for eezo. I personally am too lazy to be bothered with it.
