i was fed up with having to use a crappy cover system so i decided to try what i did in red faction all summer and shoulder. it works amazingly. your enemies don't know what to do, ther treat the situation like you are out of cover and stay standing up but they can't hit you because you are behind an object. you can usually get the ymir mechs stuck in a loop doing this where they will just walk back and forth until you kill them. it's great that this works so well seeing as cover systems are such crap and the insanity difficulty is ridiculous.

for those of you who don't have any clue what i'm talking about, shouldering is when you scoot to the edge of an obstacle to where your crosshairs are looking around the corner but your body is still in cover. you can shoot at people but they can't shoot back, it's a common glitch in 3rd person shooters.

as a certain krogan once said, "the best way to insult your enemy is to ignore it" (maybe not a exact quite) i consider the implementation of a cover system in this game my enemy.
