I think that the ending, who you picked to rule..who you allowed to die..what you said as in response to offering a boon should have an impact throughout the game. However, what I fear is ..no matter what role you picked...Marry Anora,...asked for riches and land..or any other things will have virtually no impact
I'd love to log in and as my save i was Anora's Regent to be married. I would honestly find it burgerking cheap, ..no repharse..A.T. cheap like to ignore whatever title you were granted, and everyone having a similar opening. Let's think for a moment
There are different responses in the game if you play a dwarf, human etc. So why not different tones and responses for a Regent, or Hero of Felerdan..etc. For a regent they could wave you with respect before initaling speaking or Hero of Felderan they could greet you as an excited fan hearing of your tales
What I fear most ladys and gentlemen, is that these choices we made, regent..hero..own land and riches will virtually have no impact or mentioning if they do it will be a small line, very very cheap IMO since we have played the entire game from 24 hours to 240 buliding up to the point
Where we could stand in that room, to make those choices, and have it virtually erased like it was no big deal. As excited as I am for the new companions, what is the point if our choices don't carry over. I'm not saying every detail down to the bandit you let live
Show up in the expansion, just the major points..for example ..umm the ending or post save, think that was kind of a big deal. Excuse me if I seem a bit off, it's just Bioware has released several trailors about the expansion however won't at least be willing to mention anything about this..yes or no, it would least give peace of mind to know

Though I admit it would be interesting to play a game free of the messy grey warden drama and just sit on your ass being a Tyrant.

Examples:
Searching for Morrigan: While walking the Frostback Mountains, looking for her you stumble into someone babbling about talking Darkspawn.
Staying with the Court: You are in the castle when a messenger reports of a man wishing to speak with the Commander of the Wardens, ranting about talking darkspawn.
Etc.

Seems a lot of our storylines will be cannonized.

I'm hoping that depending on the answer you select, that's where your character starts off at the beginning of Awakening. Perhaps all end up in finding whatever kicks off the plot of the expansion.

Staying with the Court: You are in the castle when a messenger reports of a man wishing to speak with the Commander of the Wardens, ranting about talking darkspawn.

Excellent! This I think is most likely. I believe it is probably the most cost affective (as it will inherently give origin stories) and, if you recall with the human noble storyline, it is referenced throughout the game. Now, whether or not you choose to speak of it or be a pompous noble bastard (a la vaughn) is up to you. This way, they could reward the play-through players and entice newer ones to explore the previous content (if they haven't already).

Or you could just sack up and die like the man/woman you are supposed to be. =)
Not all of us picked to the sacfrice, some of us actually lived. And In the game in a RPG, we are a sword weilding or dagger weilding, darkspawn killing, romance making, army running tough son of a gun...but that's in the game, outside of it
We are entitled to thoughts that we put our money on, that we spend hours playing. Just saying it would be nice to indcate something, only thing we got to indicate anything was Aliister in the awaking and everyone assumes that Orgen is returning
Though Allister is heard all over the minute and forty second clips in crystal clear audio and video. We assume that he's King and therefore can't join our party. Though not all of us made him king. We had a choice in the land's meet and that was for him to die..
Least it was with me, to have a similar entrance with him as King for all PC, regardless of choice. Nearly like creating a different game, very similar to dragon age but not with choice you picked

It doesn't make much sense for you to be both the king and the commander of the grew wardens. Each role has different and sometimes conflicting responsibilities. GW are supposed to be neutral, and kings have to put their country and people first. Also king's don't run around the country with only 5 companions.
Noone forces us to be *good* Grey Wardens

You make a very good point! *But* if you remember from the ending, players are only made prince/princess consorts, these are inherently figure heads with no "duties" other than the honor the title bestows. It's basically being the husband or wife of a political figure, you get all the fame but without any real responsibility.
Also, if anyone remembers, you can't hold a title as a Grey Warden necessarily, so being the ultimate ruler is kind of out of the question.

u know i have been thinking all of these thoughts to but i can safely say that u cant sit on your fat royale arse all day drinking and merry making with the female or male servants all day as king/consort/queen/land owner with a spiffy titel and giving out orders all through the day, But what i personly would like to see is the same thing from NWN2 where you gather men, tax your pesants, getting better weapons and armor for your soldiers and training them, i think that is the closets any of us will come and even then i have my doubts.
but i must say that bio should trye and give your hero more control and power, if any1 with half our list of heroic deeds had lived he wouldent hafe to even chew his own food, he would be lying in bed having young gourges woman chew it for him and spit it down his throat (yark)
so if you become king/queen/nobel land owner shouldent you atleast with your list of deeds be able to tell a peasant that his turnip garden now falls under your land and that you whant Half a turnip every week as taxes?
they should Atleast give the hero a complementry trip to the blackpearl for a free nuikki.

You will probably somehow be forced to get down and dirty with the grey wardens, with no royal treatment regardless of choice.

You there! Go kill the darkspawn!
"Yes sir! Right away sir!"
And you! More beer and women!

I was curious as to what effect the noble ending would have on the expansion? If the player imports their character and they chose either to marry anora/allistair/marry anora to allistair would this then be reflected in the expansion?
Example: You marry Anora/Allistair in DAO, people treat you as king or queen, you can visit the castle etc.
Your choices do have an effect in the expansion from what I read..as to how indepth those effects might be..well I don't know.

Actually I was thinking this myself...kind of like an "alternate reality" a choice to do other than the main campaign, which is fighting darkspawn of course. Perhaps a choice of being truly evil. Where if you do evil things, it does impact ..your companions, the people in the street turn on you...that sort of thing.
I wonder if Bioware will ever combine this..a two in one deal? Would be interesting. Although I'd imagine it would take some time to accomplish it perhaps.
