I liked him. Badass dude.

What sucks about him is you can't really start up a conversation, and whatnot. Other then that, his stories are good, and his Loyalty quest, if you choose renegade, has an incredibly badass ending....

The no interaction or backstory beyond his side quest was the irritating part...I mean it's an RPG and the character is a blank slate. I don't want him back in ME3 unless they give him an actual role...if they do I'd be fine with it and enjoy having him around.

Zaeed was cool; a badass. The only reason why I don't care for him is I feel no emotional attachment. At all.
All of the other characters I cared about and liked in some way or another; they felt real.
With Zaeed, I feel nothing... he's just there. Like a wall, or statue. I don't really know why.

I think more people would like him more if you could have conversations with him instead of just clicking on him for some dialog.

That's part of the real why I don't care for him. But his stories are funny.

He felt tacked on, which he kinda was. Would have like a Batarian or female Turian over him.

I think he was totally awesome but I agree that he needed more interaction.

*Thane joins the crew"
Thane - "Hey, who's that guy over there?"
Shepard- "Who? Oh...him...that's Zaeed...he's the badass third wheel that occasionally shoots something when we let him out of the garbage room"
Thane-"I see..."
Shepard-"So...your quarters are this way, and I'll be by to talk to you later!"

The only issue I had with Zaeed was that there was no lead up to meeting and recruiting him. He's just same random guy donkey punching a batarian hobo over and over at the dock entrance of Omega Station. That didn't instill any love of him with me.
His stories and in-cabin interaction was nice and a good throwback to what I loved about Wrex conversations, but that was all he was.

Okay I no longer care about what this thread is actually about.  I just know that "Batarian Hobo" needs to be a band name.

I liked him fine, badassery abounds. Liked his stories, thought it was an interesting way to have conversations with him - but would have liked the ability to talk more to him.

Certainly didn't hate him. I liked him more than jacob, who creeped my femshep out.

If you could talk to him like any other character then people would warm to him more i feel, as is, he feels like a slap on addition. Becuase he is... and a little 2 dimensional at that!

Zaeed is a merc. It's his whole life. He doesn't have much to say or talk about. All he's got are his stories. It made perfect sense, and I thought it was a nice touch. If I regretted a lack of dialogue options, it's only because I enjoyed the character so much. My #1 regret with Zaeed: no opportunity to fix Jessie for him. I'm surprised there wasn't a small quest around doing that.

I didn't like him because I'm so used to Bioware's actual characters. The way they've had companions for years on end now have been engrossing and enlightening, with each having an in-depth story and history to them. The development for them is always something worth going through.

With the way they've gone with Zaeed, it feels incredibly disconnected, and thus I don't really care for him. He doesn't have any of that relation, that development, and thus not much personality. In contrast to the rest of your crew he feels like he's in the background, like he's just another video game character.

I really, really hope they don't do this to Kasumi or whatever new squaddie they make.

Nope, I didn't like him. I liked his loyalty mission, but his story is not that cool. I still save him though :)

Yeah it's definately a shame that you can't actually talk to him. I loved his loyalty mission though, for some reason it reminded me of Predator or the jungle place from the new AvP game. I think it's a strength that he's loyal even when you let Vido get away, you just needed to nip him in the back to tell him who's in charge, and he respects that.

I agree that he needed more fleshing out. His stories tend to loop after a while, but I could hear him reminisce about Jessie all day. He's a lot opportunity. He had loads of potential, but it's strange that people dislike him because of this rather than want to know more.

I think he's actually good for a DLC character. Mission was nice, exploding stuff, effects, choices. Would be cool to be able to talk to him but I'm satisfied with just him telling his stories through the objects.

I think he's really good. Love the cockney accent. Wish he shouted "Oy guvnah, yoo want a smack in the gob!?" in battles. :)

I really only use him near the start because he's better than Jacob. Once I get Garrus, Zaeed tends to guard the cargo bay a lot...

No offense, but your obviously not from Britain. There is not one spec of cockney in his accent. Some edumacation for ya, old yella! :D

Agreed, but the VA is English

On-Topic I like him, although I tend to have harder time controlling him than other characters. Not entirely sure why. I actually liked his stories and don't think the wheel conversation would've suited him as much as the others.

I'm intrigued as to how they'll handle Kasumi when it comes to onboard ship conversation.

I liked him. Actually it was kind of nice to have him banter about his old adventures, instead of putting up some emotional dialog. After all, he is just in for the money. Why the heck should he spend his time talking with you about his feelings?

He's pretty well developed in his own rights, fun to have around on missions (nothing beats a dry & cynical comment) and of course, simply a badass guy

I thought Zaeed was awesome. He has one of the best backgrounds of all the characters and Inferno Grenade is awesome. The fact that there's a chance for Paragon Shep to punch him is rather epic as well.

I couldn't quite place his brilliant accent though. To me he sounded like an Aussie but alot of people seem to think he sounds English.

I liked him, but I can understand why some would not. He has a good loyalty mission I think, and he is okay for taking on N7 missions, but I rarely take him on anything because I usually kill him off in the final mission. It just seems like that is the role he fits best, to be that one bad ass guy who got out of every suicide mission he was ever on, only to die on this one.
