What You Didn't Like About ME 2

1. Talking options; felt like they were toned down a bit
2. Fact that you have little contact with old squaddies; those just like me know what I mean
3. The fact that my crew can change my ammo type; even when I turn off squad power usage they can still turn my ammo type.
4. Only one armor if you don't have codes; ME 1 had a wide range of armors. This one, the armor customization was good but the fact that you can wear only one armor if you don't have the codes sucks.
5. Male Shepards still have the same hairstyles.
I have a lot more but I'm not about to list them all here. So what didn't you guys like? Posting this so BW can take a look and know what to improve on.

Planet scanning. What were they thinking? I'd rather drive around lifeless planets.
Loading screens. Elevator rides with news and banter were better.
Virtually no customization for squadmate gear.
Small areas. They totally neutured the Citadel.

1. The cooldown for powers should be by type and not for all at the same time, if i go sentinel and use biotics why do i have a cooldown on tech? makes no sense and breaks down tactics. Hell even medigel is on global cooldown, again makes no sense.
2. The weapons aren´t many, more weapons is a must for each type though Heavy weapons are alright, lack of pistols.. lack of smgs.. lack of assault rifles..you get the idea.
3. Planet scanning, its not that bad when you go for rich planets and try to quick with this, but when we used a vehicle at least we had some fights. Planet scanning takes me precious gaming time.. sucks.
4. The armors: Wow where are the armor stats? removing the stats makes me try and figure what is the best armor overall?? they are ALL THE SAME besides some crap bonuses, armor should not be like this and ME1 armor owns this any time. 3 useless armors that can´t have the helmet removed? why? and why remove the on/off toggle for helms during play? again makes no sense.
5. The crew is just so static, in ME1 it was the same and i never liked this, why can´t crew members wander the ship and even have small dialogues between them? i have to name another game here that has something like this, Fallout 3, it was great going in an area and people were actually wandering about and talking to each other, for ambience it would have been great imho.
6. The controls suck in PC! no quick weapon toggle, no crouch, i want to jump stuff without going to cover and then climb..makes no sense lol, Also hotkeys for squad screen would be nice, in overall comparing ME2 to ME1 controls should have everything from ME1 and the cover mechanics implanted in ME2 adding jump/climb key too imho.
7. No special equipment? like a hidden suit of armor or weapons? maybe a quest related "equip your squad" top notch armor and weapons besides the scanning loot from dead soldiers, maybe find materials for a specific weapons vendor to get us unique equipment.. so mant ideas.
8. No squad armor? they could have AT LEAST armor and casual looks like Shepard no? going on missions with no hardsuit and just a mask in the face for some characters is awfull.
9. If we can heal our scars then why can´t we help Garrus if we want to? renegade/paragon option here.
10. respec the points of our squad just like we do with Shepard.
11. Garrus has his armor damaged the hole game?? wtf in ME1 we had tons of armors that we had to turn into gel and here can´t even give Garrus a new armor?? makes no sense!! the model is right there and ready.. it could have even be a reskin of the original no?
If i remember more i´ll keep posting because i am loving ME2 but these little details are very disappointing for a game that visualy is stunning and has a great story.

-Mission comeplete screen ( breaks immersion)
-Talent trees could of been a bit deeper ( not a big issue)
-Getting paragon or renegade points for conversion speeches that shouldnt be counted at all
-Character select screen shouldnt show how many are availible in the game
-Lack of custom weapon modding , comes under no inventory I guess
-Can no longer explore the citadel fully
-AI could of been better
- The go to a planet y and recruit person x for 70% of the game with only a few main story quests in between was a bit tiresome
-No throwing grenades
-Too few paragon renegade interupts

For anyone talking about why crew members cannot move around the ship it's because if they did people would complain about not being able to find them. I believe NPC's you cannot have conversations with should be able to move around the ship though. Not the ones you talk to.
It's plain to see they really wanted to dumb this game down for the masses of casual gamers and shooter fans, but all Bioware games do this and it's getting tiresome. They could at least look like they're doing different things in their predefined rooms. They're glued to the floor.

Have you played Fallout 3? characters that you need to talk to are in different areas too and wander about. the Normandy isn´t that big too, hell there was even a time to sleep for everyone, in ME2 everything seems static and dead, the squad is one in each corner of the ship? why? thet could there to be alone but wander the ship a bit no?gmartin40 wrote...

No nudity in romance scenes (comon Bioware, have some cajones. Forget that bad press, Fox News was laughable anyway in their coverage), Thermal clips, way less variety of weapons and armor, some dialogue options that should not have been paragon or renegade, removal of inventory and equipping armor for squadmates, no grenades (inferno grenade doesn't cut it), all the stupid internet hoops one must do to unlock armor and stuff that should be in the game to start with.
I agree with the grenades and the armor unlocking things. I hated the fact grenades were removed and the fact the only way to get other armor is to unlock it from the internet as a promotion scheme.

Okay when you compare it to Fallout 3 I see where you are coming from. I believe they should be able to move around the room they are in, but not all around the ship. I also believe they should be able to sleep and woken up like in fallout 3.

Lol I too noticed the visual leakings. It looked like Shepards eyes were melting.

the hacking/bypass games are ok.
but planet scanning is something for a mobile phone game.
the inventory in me1 was a pain in the ass. but they could have adjusted it instead of reducing the number of weapons in the game to a handful.
the global colldown on abilities is a step backwards. i'd like to combine them.
I really miss some of the rpg parts.
instead of upgrading and adjusting your weapons, the ammunition is now a skill. how do you explain that? i use my awsome weapon skills to turn a bullet on fire?
and finally the heavy weapons. they are better than the grenades, but which one you choose depends only on your taste. there are only 6 different ones to bring in another trophy and to cover the missing variety in overall weapons.

-ME2 combat is better, but the axing of mods for weapons and armor was hugely disappointing (and the lack of light/medium armors... my sentinel shouldn't be wearing thickass armor like my soldier). Lack of armor options, and not being able to toggle the helmets. I never could bring myself to use the bonus armor because of this.
-Removal of all the little immersive crap, like disembarking when you land at a hub or being able to talk to your teammates during missions or even being able to crouch. Bring back the immersion and axe the damn loading screens (I never had a problem with the elevators in ME1, I thought they helped tie the game together nicely)
-Squad member outfits just being the same crappy outfit with new colors (ok Jack got a vest... and I think Mordin's is slightly different but still). Go back to something like the ME1 armor system.
-Power evolution being utter crap, and biotics getting downgraded to "glorified finishing moves" . Also, not needing a decryption skill is utter bullsh*t. (the minigames for hacking/bypassing were even easier than the ones in ME1 pc version...)
-Mako getting axed. Yes the sidequest driving got a little boring, but the new planet scanning is even more boring IMO. Yes, I know about the hammerhead, but it has no impact on the main story.
-Disappointing romance subplot/s. I haven't played them all yet, but they seem to have even less impact on characters than in the first game. Plus no tasteful semi-nude sex scene (not needed, but if its not in, give some more "romance" instead of a horrible half down sex scene)
-Lack of sniper enemies. The rifle gets overpowered and now our enemies can't use it? (or am I missing something?)
-Mission complete screen was horrid! WTF were you thinking BW?
-Main shopping/hub areas felt too small, lack of presidium
-Lackluster ending
Uhh theres probably more but thats all I can think of off the top of my head heh.
EDIT: Forgot the most important ones
-Insta-regenning health (bring back medigel like in ME1, I never like this change in Halo and I don't like it now)

-I hate planet scanning, and really miss the fun of driving around in the Mako.
-I hate the loading screens, and subsequently missing the fun party dialogues while in elevators.
-I hate the lack of items, armor, and customization. I also don't like the removal of ammunition types so that they could make ammo powers.
-The new squad is cool, but I'd prefer to have the option to get my old squad back instead.
-I don't like the new cover system. Too touchy.
-I don't like that you can press X to skip dialogue, but on occassion will hit it too late and accidentally select a dialogue option (Forcing you to reload if it's not what you wanted to say).
-The new fuel mechanic. Annoying.
-I hate the thermal clips. I never actually run out of ammo, so they're just a cumbersome nuisance, and so much less cool than the overheating mechanic.
-The global cooldown on all abilities. If I want to blow my wad in the first three seconds of a fight, I should be able to.
-I miss grenades.
-I really hate the "Mission is Over, Press B." It really kills the immersion. It's this odd intrusion that instantly jerks you out of the experience. An unnecessary "This is just a game" reminder.

- Female Shepard having no female romance options. Really big disappointment there. At least make Tali romanceable, she's a really popular character. Hey, there's still Mass Effect 3, I'm hoping they're really saving the best stuff for last.
- Shotgun sucks. Charge was weak. Vanguard got really gimped in this game.
- More character banter please. Both active and passive.
Yeah, those are my complaints, surprisingly few. Bioware really did a good job in improving this series.
