Another thing. Exploration in ME1 doesn't exist. If you call riding around in the Mako on cookie-cutter planets driving up 90 degree cliffs to get to a pointless mineral or anomaly exploration then you would be incorrect. Traveling to a base was sometimes fun, but what you had to do to get there sucked. Combat in the Mako= Epic fail. Now if you wanna call exploring the Citadel exploration then I agree with you. The environments are better this time but they needed to mix what was good about the "exploration" in the first with what we have in the second. I still think ME2 is a better game. Here's to hoping ME3 gives us what we want.

You obviously just were not good at driving the Mako.  It had issues on the planet with the Thorian and that was about it.  The rest of the problems people complain about  are do to bad level design on the planets. If they had made the paths easier to find people would have just driven on them instead of trying to drive up the side of every mountain.  Also the combat in the Mako was amazing if you knew what you were doing and you obviously didn't you could drive the Mako in a complete circle all the while the gun would stay perfectly on target.  Combat in the Mako = epic.  You driving the Mako = Epic fail.

The mako is ****. That is a fact. Your response= epic fail.

The campaign and mission structure. It's boring. Boring, and totally uninspired. It's basically a bunch of short, totally unrelated missions with a couple of story missions thrown in here and there. The main campaign with the collectors provides the impetus of the story and the climax but it terms of content it's almost a side line.

The missions are too short, too repetitive, too focussed on combat and are completely unrelated.

The combat is too repetitve and gets boring.

There aren't enough skills or powers.

The scanning.

You can't toggle your helmet (minor I know, but still annoying).

No fem/fem romances.

The Citadel (and the other hub world for that matter) was too small, and there wasn't enough to do there.

Working for stupid Cerberus instead of being an Alliance officer and a specter (you're still a specter but only in name, it plays no part in the story).

Not enough squad banter.

Not enough equipment options (not enough guns, being stuck with the same armour, not being able to customise weapons and armour enough).

Not having anything to buy at stores expect upgrades, pets and model ships.

Over emphasis on combat. Too many missions were totally combat focussed.

Flying the stupid little ship around instead of a cursor in the galaxy map. I mean, was that supposed to be some kind of game? This is how the commander of the ship plots the ships course, right? Driving a little ship around? For real?

Not having a skill associated with hacking terminals and opening locked crates.

Health regeneration.

Disembarking the ship from the galaxy map instead of through the air lock.

When the ships docked at a station, it leaves every time I boad instead of leaving when I selected another destination.

"The Collectors" is a stupid name for the aliens.

The cover system, the fact it spawned zillions of ridiculous romance threads here, no Mako action (seriously), the Samara / Morinth confusion and perhaps that it makes ME1 look bad. Other than that there is hardly anything to complain about....

Could you tell me what did they fix,oh wait, you mean removal right? that is fixing for you? great for you kiddo.

No wonder Bioware never truly showed the game before it's release except a few shooting passage.
When I bought ME2 I expected an amazing rpg game like ME1 and not the Army of Two in space that I'm playing.

And then you read Bioware boss bashing JRPGs...if only he could see his late released game...

Lack of squad banter.

Mission complete screens. They toatally break the immersion.

N7 missions & recruiting grunt. They were just boring shoot them all missions.

The fact that charm/intimidate is directly related to your paragon or renegade points. Bring back a skill for these.

The end fight. I was okay with the human reaper as such and had no problem with it when you were just shooting the pipes to crash it down. However, one of the worst moments of game was when it rose and attacked you.

Also, I didn't like that some squad members stopped talking if you could'nt or didn't want to romance them. Come on, friends should talk too.

Pop ups. I hated it when i progressed futher in achievements or researched new tehcnology and a small pop up came informing me of it. Again it breaks the immersion.

The fact that I still can't connect to Cerberus Network.

This said, Mass Effect 2 is still one of the best games I've played. There are other minor flaws that i'm not bothering to list, but let's face it: No game isperfect, there is always room for improvement. Personally I'd like to see a lot more dialogue as combat is, in my opinion, in the end always repetitive regardless of the game in question.

No helmet toggle. (I mean, c'mon! ..Admire my incredible debating skills!)

Very little party banter.

Planet scanning is far too inefficient.

Party AI. -- "No don't run right up to the very dangerous enemy! Take cover! ... Not on that side!"

Err, that's about it.

I’m sorry, but in my opinion about the only thing they fixed from ME1 to make ME2 was the graphics.

-The main plot is rather weak, with a final boss that came out of a classic side scrolling shooter. I expected to see a little space ship appear on screen to shoot the near copyrighted appearance of that boss from a film series. Not to mention the stupidest plot moving idea I’ve seen. I wont spoil it but it involves all your companions getting into a shuttle that can hold maybe 5 at best.

-The inventory is gone completely but yet we still have shops to buy crap from. Go figure.

-A very limited weapon selection including a the craptactular Thermal Clip idea.

-The levels for all the main planets you go to are way to small in scope. For example the Citadel is a joke. We cant even get to the Presidium. I guess it makes more sense to believe that the office Anderson has when you see him has a taxi parked on the other side of the door. The only location that ties ME1 and ME2 and its not even worth going to.

-Combat has been completely catered to the third person shooter masses with a shield/health recovery system swiped from Halo. "Hey I got a great coolidea! Lets remove crouching. The dumb player can still use it but only if they are using our great cover system we will add."

-The scanning of planets to replace the Mako is insulting.

-The total lack of any side quests that take you anywhere. Whats the point in having so many systems to explore if there is absolutely nothing to do in them 95% of the time. Oh wait, I can scan for minerals….

-The role playing game elements have been totally gutted down to a minimum.

The game wasn’t fixed it was dumbed down to cater to everyone and their cousins instead of to the care audience of ME1.

So it's whining when they basically rip some major aspects out of a game that lots of people loved? Are we only allowed one opinion, that being to kowtow to the new game format?

There's alot of good with this game, but there's also alot of bad, and alot that is just redundant, such as the Captain's cabin which serves absolutely no purpose.

And i would seriously like to know who at Bioware thought it a good idea to remove the ability to enter and leave MY ship when docked at cities etc, without leaving, and re-entering, orbit and a cinematic scene, which fortunately can be cut.

Well actually you really never even get to leave the ship at all. The airlock is never used, you just start and end your mission at your station in CIC. But yea, to go through the redocking just because I came back on the ship is just stupid.

If a mission requires us to leave the ship my the airlock then I should leave the ship and choose my companions there. If it’s a shuttle mission then it should have been done down at the shuttle. Oh wait I cant even get to the shuttle deck. The same should be true when it ends you come aboard the ship the way you left.

Yes, thats right. In fact just after I started playing the game, I actually tried leaving the Normandy, which I thought was still docked at Omega, only to find I couldn't go out of the airlock, as in ME1, and then I noticed we were at FTL speed, by looking out the forward windows; I was gobsmacked.

I guess that explains the shutters that you can activate on the bridge. To conceal the FTL moving look outside.

** and I again get killed in one of the many typical first person shooter arena layout areas because I wasn’t perfectly positioned to take cover. **

I want to see more armor. Or at least some metallic color schemes. Or how about instead of  getting rid of things from ME1, they could upgrade them.

If they got rid of any more from ME1 it wouldn't be Mass Effect at all, anyway in ME1 we did have more armour choices.
