What?  I didn't say anything offensive and I have a girlfriend not that you care or would believe me.

i don't believe you. you two retards come into every Femshep thread that gets some steam and try to derail it. i feel like the good people here have a right to know that and recognize the "pattern" as i do. maybe then they'll do the right thing and start to take your comments with the appropriate level of salt.

*sigh*....How can you make an arguemnent agaisnt anyone bringing up someone personla relationships, and calling people retards.

oh yeah. wait. i forgot. the 3rd retard. he always shows up too, big surprise.

Nautica773 is right for questioning my verbal attack on you and El Doucheo, but what he doens't understand "YET" is that you two are like a plague on Femshep Threads. What he doesn't understand yet, good guy that he is, is that you two spend your time on the forums attempting to screw over all femshep-related threads.  i admit, that i am only guessing that you have issues with "women" in general, but you CERTAINLY have issues with femsheps. and soon enough if you both keep it up, everyone will know you for the dbags that you are.

It's true, I don't follow the Tali threads, but if they were truly just attempting to screw over femshep threads, wouldn't it be better to either ignore them and not give them more posts to antagonize or report them to an administrator? I don't see how personally attacking the poster is going to solve the situation. Also, Naltair has been pretty reasonable in this debate and AngryTiger may have a blunt method of discussing, he hasn't actually done anything that I feel warrants the name calling.

I just don't feel this is the best tactic to take to try and re-rail the thread.

And people keep saying adding ***LI DLC or Liara DLC fixes. There nothing to fix, and if they wanted to add *** li's or make Liara different they wouldn've added it in the game in the first place....Denial, much?.

OK, whatever floats your boat.

I just figured with your sig that the idea would have merit with you and others that feel there is a gap given your support of same sex romances.

I do support same-sex romances.  That's why I defend those that are asking for them.

Perhaps if you read what I wrote (and realized that I have made this exact point at least a half-dozen times now, warranting no small degree of frustration at the apparent inability of anyone to comprehend or acknowledge it), you might understand the reasoning.

However, you, like Haga, will now judge me without any desire to hear what I have to say, and instead engage in the forum version of dwelling on pedantics.

Because you REFUSE to deal with the fact that the universe isn't the way you want it to be. JUST LIKE REAL LIFE. The best you can do is to react to what you're given.

Stating issues and complaints on forums is already a method of reacting that's proven effective in the past. Things were not the way the players wanted in ME1, they were changed for ME2. It seems like you have a problem with the very nature of a player-dev relationship or the function of a community forum. Granted the demanding attitude gets them/me nowhere.

And for like the millionth time: YOU ARE ROLEPLAYING. THE LESBIAN SHEPARD THAT YOU ARE ROLEPLAYING IS ATTRACTED TO NON-PLAYER CHARACTERS THAT ARE NOT LESBIAN. RATHER THAN COMPLAIN THAT THE STORY ISN'T THE WAY YOU WANT IT, YOU ACCEPT THAT THE STORY IS WRITTEN BY SOMEONE THAT ISN'T YOU.

To be a bit more specific, we'd need to roleplay a Shephard that was extremely timid and/or didn't know what she wants and couldn't get up the nerve to ask her romantic interest if they returned the feeling. Kind of a strange approach when she just told the Illusive Man to go F-off. It feels, quite visibly to me, that out-of-game issues are interfering with in-game roleplaying. Could this be me refusing to cope with the devs intentionally leaving the relationship where it was as a means of telling the player to look elsewhere? Maybe. Kind of a strange way for them to do it though, if they knew their characters and their fans well.

If you REALLY want a F/F romance so badly, go make a good fanfic. But to try to claim that it warrants a change in the game (not in the canon, as in if a development occurred in ME3, but in DLC for THIS GAME) that is so narrow and selective is self-entitlement at its worst.

Agreed, it shouldn't happen in DLC, although I don't feel that that would be a "ret-conning".

However, you're majorly over-reacting.

Well, that's not entirely true. They may have planned for a male-male or female-female romance but it was cut due to development time. Really, we have no way of knowing why or why not it was not added. Given the developers track record, it was clear they aren't against the portrayals and there's no harm in asking for it to be included in a sequel.

I will put it this way I support same sex romances, I don't really care for engaging in them but I respect and support them being there. Mass Effect has not been very good in this regard and really left the men in the cold. I think they have a chance to fix it without just going back and making arbitrary characters bi; I say make new ones, interesting ones and give us all new content.

Yeah, I sure it had nothing to do with the fact that maybe..just maybe...there's was no reason, and more important things to do..like..IDK..gameplay? If they wanted one, it would've been in. I'm not saying their against it, but i'm sure they know it's not at all necessary.

I don't know, pleasing the fanbase is reason enough. Do you not want the people that purchase your game to like it? Having a same sex romance interests a lot of people, and because it's optional content it doesn't negatively affect anyone else. I even suspect that the suicide mission was planned to be much different but likely got changed due to development time. Lots of things developers want never get into a game for one reason or another.

I mean, when we really get down to it, none of the romances are necessary. They could have cut all of them, just think what they could have done with that extra time! :P

I'd retort but somehow my opinion would be deemed either  racist, homophobic, or sexist...as it usually is on these forums, one way or another, so I digress.

eh. i'll never say anything bad to you, Nautica773. you're a nice guy! Hell, you're even standing up for a crew full of dbags. but whatever, i'm stickin to my guns on this one. they are always there, everytime a "Femshep" thread that is successful shows up. remember that at least. ok, i'm a jerk to them and being all "uncalled for" and i'm fine with that, but do me one solid........wait and see if they show up in the next big Femshep Thread nay-saying like crazy all good cop bad cop style like they do.

anyway, end result regardless is that i agree with the OP. Femshep got royally screwed/ignored and it is in direct oppostion to what happened in ME1. we were led to believe that Malesheps and Femsheps would be treated equally based on the ME1 romances. people complained about the limited ME1 romances and we assumed that Bioware's attention to those complaints would (as before) favor both parties. they did not. Femsheps got the shaft big time, it hurts. end of story until ME3. i trust Bioware to make it right this time. and i stand by those that fight for Femshep rights!

Everyone's Bi in Mass Effect 2! EDI is Bi, Harbinger is Bi (Oh boy, him and the Collector General get it on!), Anderson and Udina are Bi (ever wonder why they stick together all these years? Hehe, stick), lets make everyone Bi! In the future, genetics make it so you prefer both men and woman. Hell, lets all go outside and kiss each sex in a romantic manner. But wait, not everyone wants to do that, since not everyone in this world is Bi.

Damn, too bad. Lets all just do what the Stormtroopers from Episode 4 said:

"Move along."

Compared to Dragon Age the romance options are kind of weak, but I thought both Garrus and Thane made compelling LIs.

i agree with the op  that females get the short end of the stick this time as far romance is concern.   males got miranda , tali,  kelly and i think they can even romance samara too not sure about that.

anyway the problem for female shepards is that the choices they get are not very good looking.  dont take me wrong i really love thane and he wins me fast just with his great sad story and kind personality.  but he is too alien looking for my taste.  im shallow like that!:D   then i was hoping that even though kaidan wasent gonna be part of your squad team, we would still be able to pursue the relationship .   instead of that we only get jabob who is a very dull character other than some great abs.   i would never have any romance with garrus that s just ewwwwww.  and he is too much of a friend,  fatherly figure to me.     i would rather romance thane over jacob but he would never replace kaidan.

i really hope we get to continue that conversation we have pending with kaidan in ME3  cause i need to have a few words with him.

my character ended up with jacob this time but mostly cause i was curious.  once again  she is gonna wait for kaidan.  or at least a better looking male human.Image IPB

I did too. I rather enjoyed all of the scenes, but most of all the after-game cuddling. :D I loved that alot. It's kinda funny that people are complaining abotu the LI's when my biggest issue was not knowing who I wanted to pick first. *Shrug*

I think the biggest issue is just that people are mad their femsheps didn't get male-shep's romances, and so feel cheated... Making this a very cleverly disguised gaymance threat. *Ponders*
