3) being a lesbian IS in fact awesome, and i don't know what upsets me more, the fact that i can't be one, or the fact that you don't like them.

Awkwardness aside, I don't particular care about lesbians it's not that I don't like them but as a man they do nothing for me, girl on girl action has never been particularly endearing to me.

There are ways of you becoming a woman if you so choose though.

I am glad you have your interpretation, but that isn't how I saw it all they were having a playful intimate moment, but I guess in your world men are douchebags.

Seriously presenting an opinion as fact is pretty dumb.

Also being a lesbian is no more awesome than being not a lesbian. Personally lesbians never did it for me and I am a straight male.

1) in my world i am a man.
2) i said when i watched the romance, male shepherd appeared to me to be kinda a douche. that IS an opinion. i never stated that was fact
3) being a lesbian IS in fact awesome, and i don't know what upsets me more, the fact that i can't be one, or the fact that you don't like them.

People... for goodness sakes...

Tali and Miranda are obviously both heterosexual, which obviously results in the fact that you femShep obsessed people can't romance with them. Play a maleShep or live with the consequences, but don't force your perverted desires on Bioware that you want every girl in ME to be a bisexual hot chick, because that's just lame.

We accept each other's sexuality in real life and live with it, so why not accept that not every babe in ME is bisexual or a lesbian? If you want Tali or Miranda romance, just play a damn male Shepard. MaleShep is much cooler than femShep anyway so...

in an earlier post i stated that i understood every character has a sexual orientation, and, as in real life, it should be excepted. however, i also noted:

jack was OK being in a bed with a dude and his girl (implied bisexuality)
mirando, being genetically engineered to be perfect, by a perverted man ;) ,  should be bi just by default
and third: even if tali is straight. my femshep isn't. she should be able to try to ramance tali, even if she gets shot down.

in that same post, i also pointed out how femshep is much cooler than maleshep too :P

i'd like to add: with the notably subdued sex-scenes in ME2, the desire isn't strictly just for kicks. my character for 2 games has been femshep. i don't want to play through as maleshep just to get tali. she has an in-universe emotional attachment to Tali, and i wish to explore it. kicks from hot interspecies lesbianism aside? i like the romantic and emotional portrayal, and i'm attached to my femshep character, largely due to 2 games of play, and Hale's great voice acting.

Garrus and Thane are awesome.  I don't feel screwed over at all.  I thought I was in a  weird minority for wanting a malien option,  a minority which could always be safely ignored by Bioware.  Not only was I not ignored I was given TWO options with characters I really like, and one option may (fingers crossed) even carry over into ME3.  I feel spoiled.  Not screwed.

I agree with you 100% OP. I was shocked and unpleasantly surprised. But, i have a feeling that Bioware will be very gratious with everyone in terms of LIs in ME3...........except m/m probably.

They completely hosed the whole paramour in ME2 anyhow.

You go from ME to Dragon age and then you start them like some 2 cent porn on skinamax and all they do is hug and cut back to the game.

I hope ME3 is better, I want to continue the relation with Liara and my Sara Shepard. The lonely captain quarters was so much better than the paramour options before the last fight.

Edit: fixed the Dragon age origins mention.

Female players who aren't into aliens got screwed .. wait, actually DIDN'T get screwed, we stared at a picture frame with sad music playing.

Though I have heard a few girls say they liked Jacob, I didn't, at least not as a romance.

Joker would have been a neat option, too bad shepard would literally break him.

If he can shoot that rifle and handle the kickback I'm sure he'll be just fine =)

That's a good point, it was quite surprising to see Jeff standing at the airlock with a rifle. However it is his legs that are worse if I remember what he said correctly. That sorta hits a sensitive area... pardon the pun.

I think the big question really regarding FF or MM relationship options in ME2 is simply "why not?" Clearly some players would have liked those options, so why didn't Bioware provide them? Especially after it did offer a FF option in ME1...

Making this issue rather more problematic is that anyone who played ME with a female character and chose Liara as their LI is left high and dry in ME2 - if they wanted a female LI in this game they're suddenly faced with having to start over with a completely new male character or just missing out on relationship content completely in ME2.

As I keep explaining, sex isn't all there is to romance, and sex isn't always rough and pounding, slow and steady OFTEN wins the race ;)

Would it offend you if I said "I think i'm starting to like you"?

Well, that's the whole point. Your femshep might be lesbian and YOU might be attracted to Tali, but Tali isn't interested in a girl-on-girl relationship, just like such situations can occur in reallife, deal with it.

Once a boy liked me but he didn't try to hit on me because he knew I was straight.
You and your femshep both know Tali is straight so it wouldn't make sense to even try to hit on her. Just live with the consequences of being a female (character in ME).

LMAO

No, as long as you didn't start every conversation off with "I'm more interested in just talking for a bit" with a really sultry tone, I think we'd be fine ;)

True, but John Shepard, the default shepard, is the real and original Shepard. Playing the original John Shepard is much cooler in my opinion because you feel better intergrated in the actual story. When you finished the ME games and continue with reading the novels and comics, it all fits. Over time I've got emotionally attached to the original John Shepard. I really don't feel much for custom sheps and female custom sheps are even worse. Shepard is supposed to be MAN, not a woman...

Yea I didn't really like the way they imposed that on Shepard. That was almost like they were trying to force that relationship.

Edit: In refference to the comment > "I'm more interested in just talking for a bit".

i'll admit, my femshep would totally hit up joker.

she just, uh, couldn't be on top.

then again, lower gravity in the quarters, and hit up Mordin for some temporary bone-strengthening pills....
