I for one am not in favor of DLC that changes the orientations of the romances, much less for the knuckle dragging gorillas who just want lesbian action.

I know I rember the discussions we had, some time back in another thread.
and for "the knuckle dragging gorillas" i have no problem that they get f/f (aslong as it is done good enough) if that way I get what what I want.

Is this argument available on CD yet? The Philadelphia recording is my personal favourite.

Oh, I agree. Aside from Garrus, FemShep's LI's in ME2 sucked.

Hey, I'm offended by that 'knuckle dragging gorillas' comment!

No different, IMO, from 'knuckle dragging gorilla's' that want various m/f romances.

'OMG!!  My DudeShep is totally going to bang Tali even though she could get sick!  LOL!!'

'Miranda gots big bewbies!!!  DudeShep want!!!'

I'm with jib. I've argued for Miranda to be a bisexual option, and I'm a straight female. I also want gay/bisexual male options.

To be honest, the only LI I liked was Tali. All the other ones had a either a psychological problem, ignorant world views (including Tali, though...) or a giant dose of boring. I guess the interesting characters Bioware loves to make, just aren't good LI's,,,

As a lesbian, I actually find people that take Collider's attitude towards those who want f/f relationships more offensive than straight guys (or gals or whoever) that like f/f relationships. I've interacted with numerous of these 'knuckle draggers' and have yet to hear any of them say anything offensive against women in general or lesbians in specific.

When someone mocks those that want f/f romances by calling them names or assuming they only want it for the 'hot lesbianz sex!!!' it tells me that this person doesn't think very highly of lesbian relationships. You're telling me that you think only drooling, moronic, knuckle-dragging losers can see any value in them, and thus, they don't hold much value at all (when compared to heterosexual counterparts).

Fox made a big deal about the lesbian affairs and brief show of female anatomy in ME1.  I believe that is why ME2 is so boring.  Fox "News" made ME1 sound like a porn video instead of a great RPG.  They are a bunch of ignorant gits, IMHO.

Edit - the love affairs, not the game. :pinched:  One more thing - I have only played one femshep - her LI was Garrus.  I found the bedroom scene hilarious, mainly because I have felt like Garrus before. =]

Jacob isn't just a bad LI, he is a terribly boring character. I do so love to send him through the vents and watch him get shot in the face. On average though, the LIs are far more diverse and better done than they were in ME1.

I developed a bad taste for Jacob after hearing all of his jerk comments in the briefing room.  "Oh by the way Tali, be sure to introduce yourself to the ship's AI."  Just the thing to tell a Quarian.

I want gay/lesbian/bisexual options for a few reasons. One: how cool would it be to have an action hero(ine) who just happened to be gay or lesbian? It's not like games are overrun with non-straight heroes. Two: Bioware has had these options in the past. Three: The ME2 portrayal of homosexuality/bisexuality bothered me. Kelly would sleep with literally anything. Morinth is a serial rapist/murderer. Nef died. Samara has sworn off sex. It would be nice to see a happy, functional relationship to counteract it. None of the "gay options" are treated as a full romance. And I'd like to have an option for a gay/lesbian romance with a human, just so I don't have to listen to "asari don't count" nonsense.

You forgot, Jack and her 'meaningless' past sexual encounters with women.  'Meaningless', since she's supposedly straight and only engaged in homosexual behavior because she was troubled/confused/wanted to please a man/all of the above.  :P

I agree.  I'd die if they make a new, male 'looking' but ultimately 'asexual' alien race for ME3, and a member of this race is romanceable by both genders.  :o

WHY MY SHEPARD WONT ASK DIRECTLY???....something like "Look Tali, after all we'been through, and being that we don't know if we will come back from this mission I wanted to tell you that I love you"...Regardless if its a male or female Shepard...I mean...remove the "1998 12pm Cinemax Adult B Movie Sex Scene" but let us choose and create a deep relationship with whoever we want, be it Joker or Dr. Chakwas, or even the cook....

It is kinda weird that whenever a game has a homosexual or bisexual character in it its pretty much always a promiscuous character. Perhaps im naive or haven't interacted with bisexuals much IRL but it seems to be a pretty bad stereotype.

Why are bisexual characters per default depicted as being extremely libertarian and casual about sex in video games (or hell, media in general)?

Do people watch too much porn (in before "is there such a thing as too much porn?!?") or something?

Collider didn't many offense I think. Neither did Onyx. I certainly didn't. My point is that ME1 and ME2 already have lesbian romances. They don't have have gay male ones.

Neither of us are really big on having more heterosexual romances either. What exists is pretty much enough.

Point with Kelly, but Liara's a virgin.

In regards to other BioWare games, neither Juhani, Silk Fox, Sky, nor Leliana are particularly promiscuous either.

Well, not ME related, but the best Bioware romance IMHO is Jaheira in BG2.  You start off slow and can buy her a locket in the Docks district.  It progresses and you have the Harper's questioning the main character and her sticking up for you.  The dialog with the bandits where she gets angry at you for placing yourself in danger.  Her getting kidnapped and needing to rescue her.  Saving her from becoming a vampire.  I think most of the romances in BG2 are deeper than any of the games Bioware has made since.

Most involve 2-4 dialogs and it's pretty much done.  There are something like 40 romance dialogs in the Jaheira romance.  I know BG2 is old and many may not have played it, but I have been hoping Bioware would pull off another epic romance like that again.

Jlb, you are missing the point. I don't want F/F romances to be made FOR straight guys. I want them to be made FOR lesbian and bisexual women. I don't have a problem with homosexual relationships at all and I'm hurt that you would suggest that. I do have a problem with straight guys wanting F/F relationships just so they can drool. Considering many of these same guys wouldn't want M/M in the game, if you don't think they can be sexist you haven't looked around enough. Many of them are demeaning and objectify women as sex objects. On this forum alone I've seen much "omg F/F is cool" coinciding with "m/m is gross don't put it in the game."

Is Lelianna promiscuos? I haven't romanced her yet, but based on what I've heard, I don't think she's all that promiscuos...

Then again, I could be wrong. I'm just qurious.

Fox didn't make a big deal about the lesbian aspect of Liara's romance. They didn't mention it at all. I don't know why people keep saying that they did, because they didn't.

In fact the only thing they talked about was Male Shepard - they were under the misinformation that male Shepard would be able to sleep with many women and treat them as sex objects.

fox news is a horrible, hypocritical, conservative biased news network that shouldn't be taken seriously. I hope you realize that by now bioware. If one stupid news network makes a smear campaign against your game, try to ignore it. Now if it were multiple news stations thats when you should look into the problem.

I've seen them too (they are not worth my time), but why generalize and say that all guys that want it are just 'knuckle-draggers'?

How can you tell that they are currently being made for straight guys and not lesbians or bi women?  What detail of the romance points to this?

That's a whole different argument and has nothing to do with my point (I also agree that they should add gay male ones before adding another lesbian one).

I didn't think they needed more heterosexual romances in ME2 (or not as many as they did add).  They had three in ME1.  Who's to say which is 'too much' or 'not enough'?

I partly disagree. Leliana might have "reformed" but she used to be extremely promiscuous, sleeping her way through the entire orlesian aristocracy to assassinate/gather info.
