If you ever listen to Harbinger when he takes over a Collector's body, you will sometimes hear him say, "Preserve Shepard's body if possible" or "If I must to tear you apart Shepard, I will". Also, according to some documents, Shepard's genetic material is what the Collectors/ Protheans who are under the control of the Reapers are after. But what is so important about his genetic material? Isn't he just a regular human who was dead and brought back to life?

Apparently, Master Chief ain't got nothin' on Shepard. lol

It might be like the Metal Gear Solid thing, he is the ultimate soldier, and it is HIS genes that would create something strong.

Shepard was the one that stopped Soverign from getting all the reapers to destroy all life.

So to them Shepard = special.

Miranda called Shepard a "bloody perfect human specimen".

She should know, she did tinker with his remains for 2 years.

Imagine if the Reapers made a bunch of Shepard clone/husk things.

Beating up reporters by the masses.

The Reapers want Shepard's Soldier Genes in order to create a Reaper version of Big Boss.

But isn't he kind of a reaper already? A Reaper of Reapers?

Stupid joke. He's trying to kill or "reap" the Reapers.

He has the ability to get Asari, Krogan, Salarian, and Quarian females pregnant.

And yet, somehow Morlans penis enlargement spam got through both TIMs and Mirandas email blocking

It's not spam. Miranda requested it. "She did tinker with his remains for two years." ... You just need to take "tinker" in a slightly different context.

Shouldn't be hard to collect Shepard's DNA. Just get some bum to pick up the whatever dandruff falls off Shepard when visiting any large city.

John Shepherd in Atlantis was one of the few that could power the Ancient technology, John Shepherd in Mass Effect is some kind of genetic rarity also. .

It's the same person! The Collectors are trying to utilize the Ancients technology, it all makes sense!

I think that it's safe to assume that Commander Shepard is a pretty damn exceptional person. It's no surprise that they're interested in his dna.

Its simple, Reapers are arrogant, and Shepard has destroyed one, almost single handedly, Since the reapers are "perfect", they assume that Shepard's DNA must be superior. And also retrieving his body keeps the Alliance/Cerebrus/Council from resurrecting or cloning him.

Plus the collectors are interested in human DNA in particular (specifically biotics) getting Shepard would be a coup, whether he is special or not.

There is also the 'possibility' that the Promethean relays did something more than just impart memories into him?

I'm thinking he has a little bit of Sovereign up in him. Cerb put some salvaged pieces of Sovereign in the Normandy so to me it goes without saying that those extra bits they put in Shepard are also salvaged bits.
