since incewind dale two and loved all of them. ME2: I loved it but at
the same timethere were some major disappointments.
Loved -
The Story - Very well told with some nice twists.
Team Interactivity - Most of the party members had very nice and emotionally engaging recruitment and loyalty missions as well as being very interesting characters.
The Final Battle - was very chaotic and exciting with lots of second guessing when it came to the choices
The New Combat - much more fluid (i played on normal and did not run out of thermal clips more then two or three battles)
The greater differentiation of player classes - I normally play combat
oriented classes in ME1 weapon combat was similer for all classes but
in ME2 the infiltrator, vanguard and soilder (finished game with
vanguard playing simultaneously as a infiltrator and solider ATM)
weapons combat is so different as to be a completely different
experience
Was Disappointed With -
Armor Selction -
when i heard about armor customization i was really pumped. I went into
the game expecting to find around 20 pieces of armor per slot and was
sorely disppointed with the measly 4 armor pieces per slot (and wierd
enough the number of armor choices was one of my biggest gripes with DA:O too). Hoping for an armor DLC pack which will remedy this.
would laove class specific/themed armor pices e.g :-
vanguard set
Head - Increase the range of your biotic charge by 20 meters and allws you to charge enemies in cover by using improved optics and targetting systems
Gloves - Increase shotgun damage by 10% and shotgun ammo capicity by 25%
Chest - includes an electrostatic charge generator that does damage to any enemies you pass through on the way to your charge target (would include a discarge graphial efect which looks like lightening)
Legs - Increases the area of impact of your area charge by 2 meters and increases the force of your heavy charge by 150 newtons and time dialation by 1.5 sec.
(The actual numbers may be OP or UP as they are just off the top of my head)
Weapon Upgrades - Once again one of the biggest parts of an RPG is upgrading your weapons having only one upgrade per weapon class was a big let down
How
the upgrades were handled - I was disappointed that the research upgrades became
a "gotta get them all" scenerio rather than another way to actually
customize your player character. I reckon having a number of upgrades
slots with a number of choices per slot would have been much more
effective (e.g- you have to select between selecting armor upgrade or
shield upgrade for the chest slot and u gotta pick between selecting
weapon damage and weapon accuracy for hands slot - these are just
suggestions off the top of my head)
all in all a very good game
by bioware once again with some let downs (stressing more on story telling and combat than
upgrades and character customization than I was hoping for maybe).
85/100
