First, I admit to knowing absolutely nothing of the workings of the toolset.

Making an actual item in the toolset seems simple enough and that's not exactly where I'm having trouble. If no one wants to explain this, perhaps they could at least point me to the right tutorial?

How do you actually make an item in the toolset and get it into the game? I'm trying to scan the forums for a similar question and if there is one I apologize.

I just have no idea and I can't seem to find the right explanation/tutorial.
