Vanguard charge/shotgun play style was the most fun and satisfying on easier difficulties. Had a difficult time on Insanity (making it less fun) and switched to Soldier. The range of weapons and Adrenaline Rush'ed sniping is still satisfying... just not on the same primal level as Charges. The evolved AoE charge is particularly exciting. :)

Infiltrator on 1 and 2 (veteran).

Could not believe how good they are in #2. So much fun. Cloak was great. Got me out of a few trouble spots and also opened up a lot of opportunities.

Played Vanguard, Infiltrator and Sentinel.

I'm having most fun with Sentinel on Insanity so far.

The problem with Vanguard is that you never really feel you can make a difference. Pulling off your charge and killing 1-2 enemies in a spectacular manner is satisfying; but at the point where you can pull that off and survive, the enemies will be so few and/or powerless that they won't be a threat anymore anyway. Try a charge in any situation that's actually dangerous and threatening, like your whole team pinned down by multiple, protected enemies, and you'll just get killed before the slowing effect even wears off.

Vanguard or Adept (I voted Vanguard), but definitely not Soldier

Infiltrator for me. Unlike most other classes, you really wish you had more points to spend, because all their abilities are useful (except Cryo shots). The only issue with them is constantly running out of sniper rifle ammo.

Edit: and an Infiltrator with AI Hacking and Dominate as a bonus talent trivializes almost every fight in the game, even on Insanity.

It's ironic to see that Adept, the class that most thought (as far as I know) the most fun in Mass Effect 1 is now second last.

From what the poll show I guess they need to work on the Engineer, then Adept and lastly some work on the Sentinel.

Soldier, Infiltrator and Vanguard are clear favourites here.

YEah, I'm going to say the Infilrator was my fav. I did my awesomeness with it. Lets put it this way. It took a little while to get used to. But once you get used to it. Its the best class in the game. I started with it and my final character will also end with it. Its great on all difficulties.!

Infiltrator is very efficient and fun to play.

But Vanguard is just something else altogether. Especially in rooms where enemies are spread out, such as the final fight on the derelict Collector ship, Charge is a great tactical tool as well as a fun attack and Shockwave is so much better than Throw ever was once you learn how to use it to full effect. I just wish they'd given Vanguards Warp instead of Pull. Pull doesn't synch with Shockwave (since the enemy is in the air) or the shotgun in most cases (since you'll likely be using it on enemies further away). Ah well, there's always Reave.

As an engineer fan I can tell you that engineer is incredible fun, the main problem it has is that it's a hard class to master (vanguard the most difficult).

As a rule of thumb if you find yourself spamming just drones, you are not playing well the engineer, the engineer is a class that needs every single skill you have, once you start using incinerate+cryo+drone+overload+AI hack (dominate) where needed, the fun begins. (Shotgun engineer in insanity is pure win (and almost suicidal))

The engineer's problem is very simple: forum misconceptions. As a matter of facts, the two most spamming classes are the most voted: soldier (adrenaline spam) and infiltrator. At least, I'm very happy that a challenging and fun class like the vanguard it's high regarded amongst the players.

Vanguard and engineer FTW!

Ive enjoyed sentinel most so far. While it might be largely defensive, I find it kills well. So far Ive enjoyed the pistols the best anyways so I dont mind thats what they mainly use.

Vanguard, though I have not tried Sentinel or Engineer yet. I don't like my infiltrator because of the lack of a good sniper rifle into further into the game. Widow takes a little while to get.

Soldier I enjoyed and played first simply because it made most sense to try first. I loved the slowmo but the Vanguard's charge is just amazing. I only encountered a glitch with charge once when I slammed into an enemy and suddenly wound up 14 or so feet up in the air with no where to go lol

I didn't play all that long as an Engineer, but I have to say it felt much better than the old Engineer, but I still found it rather strange that it did not have the Tech Armor instead of Sentinel. Sentinel could have had some sort of barrier considering the Biotics, the Engineer can only have Tech Armor really.

Soldier. I get to use all the fun weapons, and I have a heavy slam to get out of tight spots, which is fun all on its own. I like using heavy slam on the really weak enemies; I've bounced mercs out of the map before!

It definitely doesn't help the engineer's case that two of your party members get combat drone, while no one else gets any other the other classes' unique abilities. I have no idea why that happened.

Yeah, Engineer is the only class that doesn't have at least one ability unique to them.  It's strange.

I'm still on my first play-through with an Infiltrator so that's all I have to go by, but it is very fun. Incinerate is incredibly useful in almost all situations, and sniping is so satisfying, unlike in ME1. My main gripe, as a few others have pointed out, is that tactical cloak is a nearly useless ability because when you cloak into a room the enemy knows you're there and waits for you to uncloak, so no real advantage there, and in live combat situations when you cloak to flank the enemies even if you take cover and get behind them once you uncloak they magically know you're there. Very disappointing ability.

I suspect Infiltrator and Soldier will be my favourites, as they were in ME1. Adepts made the game too easy (probably fixed for ME2), Vanguards/Sentinels have some charm, and Engineers are-- sorry to Engineer fans-- just terrible. AI Hacking is nowhere near as useful as it was in ME1, and the combat drone is utterly useless. It saddens me because I really like Tali as a character, but I think she is the worst squad mate for combat situations.

AI Hacking trivializes a few missions (Tali's recruitment mission and Tali's and Legion's loyalty missions being the obvious ones, as well as a few of the side missions). It's actually better than it was in ME1, there just aren't as many synthetic enemies to use it on.

Saying that Tactical Cloak is a disappointing ability boggles my mind. I guess if you're expecting to use it to sneak into a room and shoot people from behind, it would be disappointing, but that's not really what it's for. It's a huge damage boost plus an awesome "oh sh*t" button rolled into one.

Combat drones are not useless; they function primarily as distractions to get enemies to leave cover or stop shooting at you.

Engineer, especially when I had 2 tech teammates with me, controlling tons of geth or having out three drones at a time was incredibly awesome.
