Don't you think the companions would go their separate ways? I feel like this is a bit of a plot hole. They have no reason to be there. If they want to stay on to kill the Reapers, then that makes sense but some folks like Zaeed who were hired by Cerberus for this particular mission? Well, why aren't they leaving? Why isn't Samara leaving?

In Dragon Age, after the end game it stated that it was to be somewhere before you face the Archdemon. It's just for DLC, I see. If people want the DLC that much, then replay the game. I don't understand the fascination with playing after the end game (which isn't like Oblivion.) I figured DLC was there to give more money and to make you want to replay the game.

There will be DLCs and/or at least one expansion pack, if not certainly a few DLCs that will probably let us interact more with them or connect the presence of some of them to ME3, hopefully.

I myself don't find the option necessary, since I prefer to do all side quests to have the most complete and satisfying ending possible. That being said, I dont' begrudge Bioware's decision to do this, and i'm sure lots of fans like this little addition. I just wish there was more to do in the galaxy. I dont' mean N7 missions, but just random stuff. I'd be happy if they imported all the landable planets from ME1 and I could just go down there at my leisure and explore.

People whined about not being able to continue exploring in the first game. Bioware made it possible to continue exploring in the second game. People whined about being able to continue exploring.

You pass it off as whining. I am confused. It is a plot hole.

I think the biggest problem with after game play is that the devs don't seem to put much work in it. Prime example, all the characters dialogues reset to the same thing you here over and over again.

Instead of saying the stuff they said before the end game, they should have a new conversation tree to go with the after game. Yes, they do say stuff about your ending but it is a one time thing.

People always whine, true. It's amazing Bioware keeps staying ahead of the pack and releasing quality games time after time.

Until the hole is filled up.

I say wait and hopefully DLCs and/or expansion pack will resolve some issues.

It's no more a plot hole than being unable to play ME3 right now and see the end of the trilogy is a plot hole.

Its not that bad of a plot hole, most of the characters are probably just sticking around for want of anything better to do if nothing else.

That's not very fair to say that, Marchalleck. I was confused and posted a thread to get opinions and you come on and say I am whining. C'mon, man. Be fair.

Hrm, I wondered that but I can imagine that Samara and Zaeed especially would probably want to leave, don't you think?

So you're genuinely confused by what Bioware was trying to do here?

I would prefer it done this way than how it is in DAO where they revert you back to pre-Archdemon battle- there are plot holes when they did that if you were romancing Morrigan, so it seems unless they go totally Oblivion-open world, this is the compromise we get.

I at least liked the quick reaction from your teammates on the last mission when you talk with them post-game. I figure the squadmates that are leaving are just taking their time packing up before heading out. But you could maybe rationalize that alot of them would stay on with Shepard too- in the end game cutscene it sure looked like most of the surviving teamamtes were getting ready to kick some Reaper butt.

Zaeed could have gotten an extention on his pay or have had enough fun to stick around and see what other trouble Shepard will get into and Samara could just have decided to wait awhile before going off on her own again.

You know, they jacked that place up but there are reapers coming. Infact after you beat the game you can go talk to people and learn why their still there, except maybe Zaaeed, but maybe the whole idea of dyig to the reapers makes him want to go out fighting.

Alot of the others have plenty of reasons to stay with them and Samara, after you have beat the storyline, talks of how she is still under her oath to you until its /all/ done. Not just the collector base but the reapers as a whole.

Which is why they made it so you can choose to continue after the game is over or end it and start again, so quit complaining.

Oh come now, we all know full well that once these people get caught in the black-hole of awesomeness that is Shepard, there is no escape until he dies (again) :P  Hell, Tali, Liara, and Garrus were still aboard Normandy SR-1 at the beginning of ME2, and that was like what... a few months after Saren was taken out.  Same thing here.  They see how important Shepard's cause is and they want to be there to help him get it done.  Wouldn't surprise me if all of them were still around for ME3.  Plus the loot has gotta be pretty sweet B)

Sigh.

Complain when it's absent, complain when it's present.

No-win situation.

For christ's sakes, guys. I am genuinely confused. Stop being rear ends, honestly. I got some actual opinions and statements.

Really? I didn't get that impression. I suppose I was looking at it wrong.

I guess it's from all these, "Bring (character) back in ME3" threads that I figured a lot of our companions from 2 wouldn't be in 3.

could it be..the crew was interested in sticking around to continue the fight? remember shepard has the ability to inspire his team to "follow him into hell" and it was hinted that his old team stayed togeather up to the point where he died the first time.

Miranda and Jacob work there to start, so they arnt going somewhere else, Mordin more than likely is sticking around, maybe to atone for his past mistakes. Jack finds Shepard as someones for stability, and Tali has a new home so to speak. Grunt serves Shepard, Garrus is the same. As for Legion I am not sure would be cool though. Just my thoughts.

People should not just blankly repeat the stuff they were saying before the suicide mission. One line of dialogue at the beginning of a conversation does not cover up the fact that everyone on the ship is under the impression that the Omega 4 jump is imminent

It is a little weird that the crew would stick around after the mission(especially Jack and Zaeed) but i assume that means they're all commited to stopping the Reaper invasion.  Where else are they gonna go?

If ya wanna talk plot holes then how does the Normandy get repaired so quickly after escaping the Collector base? Image IPB
