I'd like to see the ability to create custom classes implemented in DLC or ME3. I think it would be fun to include different elements from different classes. Maybe make it unlockable after you beat the game at first.

I'm down for custom classes after the first playthrough, maybe after you get all the achievements...make it the uber-reward

Quite a fun idea really. I always prefer classless gameplay myself.

I can imagine all the "ultimate build" threads if they did this.

Hehhe yeah, and they would actually make sense then. Now you can't really make builds as such. It's more a selection of class and whatever bonus skill you got.

I expect this to be done on the PC version via mods eventually.

maybe only after you beat insanity. it might make replayability a little funner. tho with bonus talents and weapons you can basicaly get the class youd want anyways.

I want a Vanguard with Throw.  That's not possible.

it would probably be only one class power allowed, but yea that would be awesome. hopefully it will be dlc while we wait for ME3

Maybe if they expanded the number of skills available in a pool, it might work. You should still have an identity though. For example, having Overload and Singularity at the same time should not be possible.

My infiltrator wants a drone >:D

Or give me overload back

In any event I could see this being a good reward for either the insanity achievement or power gamer

This is a really good idea, but you should have to unlock all of the achievements (except hardcore because that's unreasonable to some players)

It'd be nice to have an Engineer with Tech Armor, which actually makes more sense then a Sentinel with Tech Armor when you think about it. Or maybe give my Infiltrator Overload instead of Incinerate, make synthetics explode and laugh at it. This would also be a good idea for Mass Effect 3, maybe if you get the form of long service medal in Mass Effect 3 in addition you can even pick another race! I'd sure like to be a Geth Engineer, or a Turian Infiltrator or possibly a Collector Vanguard 0.0

It can be done, but it would require extensive modification of the game's .ini's to redirect necessary attributes and assets. Then comes the bugs that could potentially reduce game performance. So far I've become quite familiar with the Coalesced.ini, DefaultEngine.ini and their functions. Would be awesome to sit down with the devs to have their input and share ideas.

It can be done? Really? Because I've been looking into it, and I just can't find a way to add non-class skills to a character. As of now, I've been trying to add Incineration Ammo (or change Cryo Ammo into Incineration Ammo) for an Infiltrator, and so far.. no dice. :(

A soldier with Tech Armor would be horribly, horribly wrong.

What about biotic soldiers with sniper, and tech soldiers with shotguns?

Has anyone customized one through the coalesced ini editor?

Doable with ini modifications. At present my Vanguard has access to Assault Rifles, pre-Collector Ship appearance. class defeating, but fun!

Pick one class specific unique skill (and the associated passive skill) and choose 4 more skills that complement your play style would work quite fine I guess. No more redundant ammo skills or skills that you would not use. The game could allow such a thing after a normal playthrough on hardcore and above.

It would be awesome. That would help the replay value of this game so much.

I vote for, as long as you dont get it in the beginning but in the end after doing completing the game.

I agree; custom classes should be a reward for the dedicated player; the should not be available from scratch.

I had some success editing the coalesced, so far I am carrying all the super guns on my soldier. Which added alot more reply value and more badass. :]

Has anyone figure out how to take skills from one class and add them to another? For example, giving my Soldier Tech armor? I read the Sentinel can be given Power_Cloak, but it cannot be given to other classes for some reason.
