How do you kill Oghren, anyways? I don't think I've ever managed to, but he's one of the only characters who you MUST get to go along with you and can't avoid.

Thats possible..but just because we see "him" in the trailer doesn't mean he'll be a party member.   At this point and time ..all we can do is speculate.

And I think for some,  the reason they think its Ohgren is because they want "their personal favorite back".

Bioware stated "an old returning favorite".   They didn't say "an old personal returning favorite".

They didn't say it's an old personal favorite... but they have made it clear only ONE favorite from the first game is returning. So frankly, the returning character isn't gonna be everyone's favorite. Your looking WAY to much into that quote.

And I won't argue, speculating it's Oghren is just speculation... but that IS him in ALL three videos. To say other wise is to be kidding yourself.

Pretty sure thats a beserker glow. A beserker dwarf with a two-handed weapon... sound familiar?

Wheres Waldo? errr Oghren?

Oh there he is!

You cannot argue it. Oghren's in the videos. You can argue if he's a temp or perminate companion though. Thats cup in the air untill we see him in the group in a drastically diffrent backdrop. Otherwise he may just be teaming up with you for a cameo.

That would make sense. He deserved more! He deserves to be part of the party!

Or, it is simply Boo!

Ok, to answer your original question, I don't think it will be Morrigan. The dwarf shown in the trailer is most likely Oghren, which suggests he is the returning character. I hope she doesn't return, as I found her to be by far the most annoying character in the game. I think her story is interesting, but her being the "old favorite" would definately be a disappointment.

The thread has deviated from its original topic, so I'm going to pretend I didn't see any of the other posts and make a comment about the topic starter's instead:

I totally agree. She was the only one you couldn't get rid of, and her ending was the same no matter what. (Even without being pregnant, she stills travels alone in the mountains to the west)

I could see her having problems with the child and returning to request the new Warden Commander's help.

The only weird thing is, what if you didn't get her pregnant and you died in the end? Why would she then come back to talk to an Orlesian Warden Commander who doesn't even know her? That's the one loophole right there.

Then again, she may try to have a child with the new Commander, so who knows? Clearly, it was her mission to birth a new god and she'll get one come hell or high water.

Ok back to the discussion. I also believe like a previous poster stated, that the "Old Favorite" in question is indeed a party member. I forgot what interview it was in, but I'll trying looking for it and post later. All explanations for dead party members can be summed up to, "I was saved at the last moment by...and now I can't remember anything before that moment, nor who tries to kill me." So the death of a party member means nothing until we can gather more facts.

To all the morrigan fan boys/girls out there, Morrigan will not be your party member. If I'm wrong, then I'll admitt it. But come on, Morrigan is the poster girl of Dragon Age. Her story is going to be the most in-depth and not cheapened by throwing her in as the "Old Favorite".

Besides the fact, we as nosey DA:O fans have picked the trailers and screenshots clean of evidence. There is already one mage confirmed, Anders and he looks like a damage oriented mage (which is Morrigan's playing field). Even if that is not the case, then the fact that a female elf mage was shown in the first trailer and then seen again in one of The Children fighting screenshots confirms that we know what are two mages are. There will not be more than two mage companions...end of story.

My speculation on the returning companion will be to jump on the Oghren-train. Why not, there is a character fighting besides the PC in trailers that looks like Oghren. Since you can kill everyone else, that leaves with someone you have to recruit: Alistair, Morrigan, Oghren. Only people you have to recuit is right there. Also, to the dog lovers, so many people would be pissed if dog returned. We are expecting six companions, not five companions and something you really can't interact with or develop a story with.

You can ask Morrigan to leave right after Lothering.

I don't hate Morrigan. It's just the opposite in fact. I believe if she is made into a companion in Awakening, then her story would suffer for it. I also believe Bioware knows this and will not have her returning in that fashion for awakening. I do hope though that we get a little taste of what she has been doing in the past few months and that maybe she might make a cameo at the end. She could come in and put all the strings together for us and then be off again as we settle the final crisis in awakening.

Ok, Lets say you go with the orlesian story lne.
As i said when i started this thread "The Archetect takes old gods and taunts their souls into making them arch demons." Morrigan might hear word of a new Orlesian commander that has done a many great things including being captured by the archetect and living, this may encourage Morrigan to go the Orlesian for protection, she may even talk about your original grey warden alittle ;]
As for the question: How did she get preggers if neither me or Allister did it..? I think she seduced Riodan into doing her before she left because in her mind the child of a grey warden is something spiecal. Have you not wondered why grey wardens arent supposed to have past, marriages, or family to turn to? It is because a grey warden child is different from a normal child because it is born with the taunt that lays in you... Just a theory.

THAT...does not look like Ohgren..look at his face, his eyebrows...that is a dwarf that resembles him SOMEWHAT..and thanks for the pics,  I was never able to quite see him clear enough in the vids.

His beard and mustache look fuller in around below his nose etc.  I think I need to see a "real" pic of Ohgren from Origins to compare. He also looks younger. His eyebrows are different.

I zoomed my browser in at 400% ..that doesn't look like Ohgren,  definitely younger ..thinner.
