What should they have done, use human goo to make a Hanar reaper?

So apparently if the Reaper larva in ME2 looked like a human because it was made by using humans, Sovereign must have been created after the galaxy filled with Cuddlefish was harvested...
Is that hard to fathom? Rachni are able to travel the vacuum of space without the need of a ship. Open your minds people...

I really, really, REALLY don't like the thought of just flying through space to all of a sudden see this thing come out of nowhere to rip your ship in half.

A human embryo is to an adult human as the human-looking Reaper embryo is to a full-grown Sovereign-sized Reaper. Sovereign was an adult Reaper, not an embryo.

Even though that last line was a bit too cheesy, I still liked the concept somehow. The thought of humans being mashed into paste and then being transported through pipes to create this wicked being truly disgusted me.

Reapers look like Cuddlefish dude...calm down. It's not your fault, I know.
Sorry if my underlining appeared like malice. That was not my intent. I was just trying to form a clear, logical statement. I agree they, or at least Sovereign, looks like a cuddlefish. However I don't think the host species necessarily had to look like a cuddlefish, at least not as cuddlefishy as Sovereign. My reasoning: the human reaper looked quite human but represented an embryo for a Reaper and adult humans look very little like their embryos.

It just looks ridiculous. Cuddlefish are built to swim so their movements through space would look natural. What does reaper-man do? Does he do the backstroke over to the mass relay and then hold the superman pose while going FTL?
Read other posts. This has been explained. The final boss was an UNFINISHED reaper. It wasn't even close to finished. Had it fully matured, it would have looked a lot more like Sovereign or Harbinger.

they apparently went with that so we could draw a connection to it; it looking human and all. couldve had you know, the slightest hint of subtlety though. reaper/human combo isnt a bad idea on its own, but it is so blatantly radical a design, it loses alot of credibilty; something that actually looked reaper/human and not just giant terminator wouldve really made that bit of the game better; a synthesized terror... instead, we get something that makes us cringe at the thought of it flying thru space upon completion.
As long as it has a cape, has a fist stretched out before it, and smiles at the camera, I'm sure it'll do fine.

That would be pretty ridiculous. But "reaper-man" (I like that. Beats writing "human-reaper hybrid" and more humorous than "human reaper") wasn't finished and looked too small to end up looking like a floating metallic cosmic man upon completion. Even with legs, it would be too small to be a Reaper. Or maybe it is supposed to fly around like a metallic Superman. Either way, there's too little evidence to confirm that or any theory right now. There's more evidence that suggests the human-looking portion is just part of the overall appearance, like its size, hinted embryonic state, proportion to other Reapers, and illustrations from the art book.

Really no one saw the ending of this game where is shows all the reapers of different species in a mass wave of galaxy smashing doom? No one is making the link between unique reapers made up of unique species and all the talk of preservation, salvation, and ascension? Not a single one of you picked up on this?
sorry for double posting. But to be honest I was expecting something....but on a much much smaller scale. Creating an army for the Reavers as opposed to....building a giant reaper....out of humans.....
At one point I thought it was gonna be Paul Grayson who went insane and was tryinng to open a gateway to the reaper army.

Well...I...erm...uh...that is to say... Yes. Fine, "cuttlefish" it is. I think "cuddlefish" sounds pretty sweet though...And I completely understand what you mean by saying it was in an embryonic state, however, it seems to me the final product couldn't looked too far different from what was killed at the end of ME2. I mean, after they completed "Reaper-man" (love the name btw) were they going to give him a giant cuttlefish suit to fly around in?

im surprised we couldnt hit a to jump onto his hand, climb up his arm, hit b to smash the cover of his eye then pull the trigger to shoot his brains out via quicktime event when his health went down

The baby Reaper encountered inside the Collector base was big, but remember the scale of Sovereign in ME1? It was much bigger. The human Reaper would easily have fitted inside.
