Just got a review that made me snort. "Alistair and Leliana are whiny traitors!" I must be doing something right :).

Laugh!  Way to go, Miri!

(whiny traitors?  really?  cos, Aedan's a little b**** in that story).  :D

I love getting reviews that are like 'wow, your character's kind of a ****.' It's like: really? And here I thought she was such an angel...

The rest of the review said "This Aedan is awesome and does what it takes" which is kind of what I was aiming for so I'm pretty happy about it.

They're going to love the next chapter if they think that.

And yes, it's not like I was writing him to be nice and fluffy! Maybe I'll have to put in a secret fetish for fluffy bunnies or pretty ribbons for him...

*snort* Miri you rock! But then, I am a fan. *bends down and kisses Miri's talented toes*

I got a review of somebody thinking that Maebh was a big ol' ho in the Tower. And I was like "Um... actually that was all like rumor and stuff." I mean, she explicitly tells Cailan it's her first time, so? I don't get it. But the one that was worse was the person whose one-and-only review consisted of "You left out the sex scene?" with one fade-to-black that I did. Like there isn't enough sex in there already. Or that there isn't a sex scene in the chapter DIRECTLY FOLLOWING IT. Or like I didn't write Cailan Theirin: An Erotic Life.

Seriously I don't mind constructive criticism. But those two irked just because they were so *dumb*.

I would like more constructive crits in some ways. I know my weaknesses are grammar/syntax, abuse of adjectives and semi-colons and poor research (lolol google translate=Antivan, that will do) and hope my strengths of THE LULZ, smut and Missa beating the everloving crap out of stuff will distract it all.

Btw I am taking this crack!fic too seriously and have written 2000ish words now. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-

WOOT go soignee! If writing over 200, 000 words means I am taking it to seriously, then can we be in that group together?  I have almost 300, 000 and 88 chapters. And I am not even close to done yet.

@saga, yeah, I always love the reviews where criticize something you explained in chapter. I just got one from first time reviewer, who complained that I made Master Ignacio too jumpy and nervous or easily upset. Um, my character had the means to bring all of the Crows to its collective knees and destroy the Antivan empire as he knew it...but Master Ignacio would be cool as a cucumber right? :D

Soignee, I want to read that. You must finish it and post a link. YOU MUST.

Oh, and then get back to Missa.

I had a gold couple of days there when everyone was updating at once, and now I'm in a fanfic desert. Tempted to get the Sims out again, but if I do that I can't write at the same time....

I know that I updated...hm, yesterday, I think, but then I can't go longer than two days without writing SOMETHING or else I start putting it off and the story never gets done or at least takes a long hiatus, only to be remembered when someone sends an annoyed review demanding to know why eight months have passed.

Oh, that's another thing I love about fanfiction: People feeling that you have some sort of obligation to update for them.

I was going through a stage there of updating every day and loving it, then I got sick and I couldn't any more and I felt SOOO GUILTY that I had gone more than 24 hours without updating that I got quite upset. My husband all but had to whack me over the back of the head and say "this is not a job, you know, it's a HOBBY".

I relaxed a little bit then. I still feel twitchy if I don't update every day though. At the moment it's easier because there are two fics going at once, so if I don't feel like writing one I can doodle with the other and there's nearly always a chapter ready to go. But I'm forcing myself to slow down a bit. I figure more editing time will not hurt my readership :).

Nice to know I'm not alone with that. I'm not entirely sure if feeling guilty is normal or even HEALTHY but I suppose it does ensure that stories get finished, right? Posted Image

ROFL, in that regard I would say it is a good thing. In lieu of a boss or a agent getting on your butt...and the lack of pay for it as motivation. ^_^

@soignee : I'm the exact opposite. I can handle the grammar and so on like it's nothing, but I think my plots tend to get a little (well, a lot) convoluted.

I hit a streak where I had a ton written in advance I just needed to pop into place so I was updating every day, and now I'm totally past all that and feel guilty for slowing down. Which is insane, but there you go. So you're very much not alone in feeling that.

Although I will have an update tonight at some point. I need to work on the ending of the chapter. And I have no idea how long the next one will be since it's the WOO FIFTIETH CHAPTER SPECTACULAR so I feel like I should do something big.

Also, @saga, I think i saw that review, and it was from someone who has my fic on alert. I will fully admit, Maggie was a HUGE ho in the tower. Ho of Legendary Status, perhaps. So perhaps the reviewer was confusing their M. Amells?

Maybe the reviewer is one of those 'there's no smoke without fire' kinds of people and thought she lied to Cailan?

The way it worked in my fic was, Maebh was pretty and kinda spoiled by Greagoir and Irving and also weird and smarter than pretty much everybody and aloof, so there were all kinds of rumors flying about her all the time. The problem is, this particular reviewer (whom I love dearly, don't get me wrong. She's a doll!) got confused between what was rumor and Greagoir's sort of twisted-paternal-paranoia and what was fact. It only came up with Cailan because he was being really pushy and she was scared.

You mean, besides heaping piles of guilt you pile on  yourself because your having a) a plot stall and B) real life stuff getting in the way? :?

And I want to get this chapter out too!  <3 Daveth.
