Yeah, DomDaddy will be Ser-Not-Appearing-in-this-Fic. Homey don't play that way. Just regular OverbearingDaddy for me, if you don't mind.

And yes, I got asked why she wasn't with Alistair, and that they were better suited as he could fix her better. I lol'd so hard.

I got some weird ones while writing 'Duty'.  I had one reviewer question my treatment of Anora in the story.   Personally, I like Anora.  However, the story was written from the PoV of certain characters and they did not, so Anora was not portrayed in a great light.  The reviewer was mistaking character PoV for my PoV and got quite incensed.

I think sometimes people start to read a story, get into it and want to see it go a certain way.  The review system offers them a way to try to steer a story in the direction they would like to 'read'.  I try to be nice to these reviewers because it is obvious they care (and reviews are GOLD, people!), but at the same time, yo, my story, back off!

That's fine.  I got a desk for Cauthrien and him to 'write' some correspondence on.  And maybe when they are done, they might even flip it.

And wow...apparently they saw 'Missa' and read 'Jack'...

Edit: I really hate the idea of 'fixing' someone as, to begin with, I don't think you can 'fix' other people. Not to mention that makes her sound more like his goodwill project than a LI. Posted Image

I am writing a Missa/Alistair scene and him asking really damn awkward questions about her and Zevran. The L word is mentioned and Missa response is to LULZ. But since I don't write my Alistair as Derp!istair, the lady doth protest too much...

Not sure if it's a one off or I can shoe horn it in somewhere in a chapter, we'll see. And here I am meant to be workinnnggggg. Hnfffggffg.

Maebh and Loghain just had an argument re: her sex life over a desk. Does that count?

This is very important. Does she flip it after?

No, because they're interrupted by Alistair and she's trying to be good. She might throw all of Duncan's old stuff off of it after he leaves, though.

Yeah, I'm supposed to be doing homework right now. In the computer lab. With my teacher standing only a few feet away. Whatever, I look busy! Posted Image

Oh and just as a P.S. you KNOW how much I love your Loghain and if I could figure out a way to include it in my fic that wasn't mind-meltingly creepy and wrong I totally would in a heartbeat.

Recently I've gotten a few "you've made me hate Jowan less." which is kind of funny.  Someone sent me a slightly angry mail saying that killing him themselves in Redcliffe was their very favorite part of the game and now they feel bad trying to do that.
I suppose getting people to like Jowan is asking kind of a lot, though.  He's really one of those characters you love or loathe.

Or love TO loathe. Acting like he was just this random stalker that wouldn't stop following me around was my favorite part of the mage origin.

I liek Jowan too, I wrote him sympathetically (i hope!) in DDW. Plan to use him later on too.

As a strange coincidence, the first time Jowan appeared in my story was this chapter that I just wrote...I think he's sympathetic-ish but I never really try to demonize anyone.

Except Vartag. But he deserves it. Posted Image

You really did, I loved how you handled it. (and I'm glad to hear he'll be making another appearance!)

I blame the Jowan-hate on the broken followup quest in part since you can't play at all on a console and it's kind of a pain to access on the PC.  But I think if you DO decide to kill him yourself the dialogue about why he became a blood mage is enough to soften most Jowan hating mages.  It's really heartbreaking.

I think a lot of the Jowan-hate comes from the annoyance of the mage origin where you can naively trust that Jowan is innocent or sell out your friend and get screwed. In the other origins (with the possible exception of the DE one because you could have left Tamlen if not for game mechanics) there's a reason it's inevitable that you're in need of Duncan's intervention. In the mage one, if it weren't for the game mechanics you could have just wished him luck and stayed out of it.

I think it's this and the fact that, if you do a playthough as a non-mage first, Jowan is the whiny guy who helped make Redcliffe such a huge cluster. I remember when I rolled a mage on my third playthrough, I got to the post-Harrowing scene and almost threw the controller when I saw Jowan standing over my Amell. I betrayed him so fast and so hard his head spun (of course, I then cried when he was all honorable after Eamon had been saved, so he ended up living despite my plans to advocate for execution).

I have much more sympathy for him now, btw.

Before playing a mage I didn't realize I was getting him executed or made Tranquil. I mean, maybe I should have but I guess I just didn't think too much about what was happening to him after the Circle got their hands on him again.

Moira wants to redeem him... Zev and Al... not so much.

He's her big brother. She loves him.

The boys don't trust him any farther than they can throw him.

I'm just waiting for Cullen fangirl hatemail.

Tasmen & Sage: I do love your Loghain(s). I haven't yet figured out a way to redeem him because I love Al too much... but I'm more sympathetic at least. *grin*

I love Alistair too much, too. I had to play with events to get the ending where they're all alive and in one place, lol. It's so much more interesting to me to force them to actually work through their problems instead of letting somebody conveniently die or disappear.
