This makes me incredibly happy to hear! Your weird little experiment in making something innately creepy not creepy is apparently successful!

It seems so!  And since Ron is your character, and you practically wrote his lines with all my interrogating, it's your success too!

I think this is a sign that you should quit the smartypants wormporn and I should quit the chronic underachieving and we could collaborate on a whole series of stories! I could inspire creepy concepts that you make awesome, and you could throw out neat concepts that I make awkward.

:wizard:

HA!  That sounds like a plan!!!  We would be rich!  Filthy rich!  And then I guess we would both have to grow pervstaches....

Indeed. Zevran approves +50 when it comes to 'breasts that leap like gazelles' and 'lips like pomegranates'.

Or something. Been a while. XD

ooh, actually... I think "hell" is "the Beyond," or perhaps that's some kind of purgatory. Maybe. I went to Catholic school so I tend to see everything through that filter.

Chant of light verses

Though all before me is shadow,
Yet shall the Maker be my guide.
I shall not be left to wander the drifting roads of the Beyond.
For there is no darkness in the Maker's Light
And nothing that He has wrought shall be lost.

Weird, the Beyond is the elven name for the Fade.  Where were those verses from? :P  The Dissonant verses?

It's trials 1:14
I think it's what one of the Wardens says in The Calling just before they enter the deep roads.

I'm sure there is something like that if the whole thing takes weeks to read from start to finish, we just haven't seen it yet.  (In my last chapter I hinted a passage Zevran read for Alistair's wedding was Song of Solomon like.)

I bet Zevran would try to quote that to a Chantry sister

It surprising how 'smutty' that book gets....I thought there was somehwere in the 'Song' about teeth being white as sheep's wool. I remember listening to something talking about the levels of love in the Song of Solomon and I was thinking with the whole Maker and Bride in the Chantry of Light that they would have actually a romance reference in the chant...

I don't know why when I first lurked iin here I was expecting a base party about terrible fanfictions but yall are groovy

The Calling is actually a very useful for source for CoL and related verses, few chapters back I actually borrowed some for Alistair to quote over Cailan's pyre...

Now, I'm on hols but still writing like one possessed no access to the game, though, wonder if some kind soul could tell me how many floors the Tower of Mages has and on what floor is the library....

If I'm not mistaken there are five floors to the Mage's Tower, (if you count Harrowing Chamber as a full blown floor) and I believe that the first floor AKA the apprentice's quarters may have had the library, but I'm a tad unsure because if I'm not mistaken the second floor had just as many books as the first. So it's either the first or second floor from what I remember.

lololol I did the same:

Missa realised then he was quoting something from the Chant, but not sure what; what would she know of surfacer droning? "'This is how the Maker means us to live, intoxicated in love and joy and sweet union. And through our joy, the Maker receives His joy. The joy of us is the joy of the Maker,'" the elf continued, words echoing slightly in the chilled stone room.

Ah, Zevran. Of course he would know dirty Chants.

Ha!  That was great.  Maybe I should follow those steps to literary success.  Gin's not really my beverage of choice, though.  Is wine too weak to yield the desired results?  Maybe brandy or irish whiskey?

Seriously, though...what do you do (addressed to all the more experienced and skilled fan fic writers, not just Soignee) when you have to write a section that you just can't think of anything interesting to do with?  The logic of my story requires the narrator to stop in Orzammar, for the night to warm up after his ordeal in the pass and get his armor repaired.  I was thinking he could stop in to Tapsters and chat with Lord Helmi about the new king (Harrowmont's already dead) and the Orzammar Circle.  But it's just feeling really flat.  I guess I could just skip straight to Jader and write a couple paragraphs explaining that I went to Orzammar (maybe with the intent of coming back later and refashioning it), but I kind of feel that I should do more with it.

When all else fails I grab one of these at random:

1. darkspawn attack!

2. everyone get drunk! (I had the same problem in my orzammar section. solution? ****faced wardens singing at Tapsters!)

3. smut smut smut!

Speaking more as a theoretician than an experimentalist, I'd say that sounds good.  If your protag is not going to need the information on current affairs in Orzammar later, there is no real reason to exposition it.  (If he will, then by all means!)

"After a brief stop in Orzammar to repair the gaping rent the deepstalkers had torn in his armor, Bob continued on to Jader."

Then, if something comes up later that requires some pipe to be laid in Orzammar, you go back and put it in there.  Otherwise, carry on to the interesting stuff.

Substitute cat for dog and Random Goth Band for Beyoncee and our writing styles are remarkably similar.  Except I prefer vodka. (also, tvtropes is the DEVIL ITSELF)

Wow!  Sub the dog for a cat and gin for rum and you have got me to a T!  Oh and I tend not to go to bed, I instead opt for the ritual molestation of my internet's refresh button for next 5 hours or so...give or take....:pinched:

Oh I know!  FF is driving me absolutely bonkers with the delay in alerts and such.  I also noticed that my stats will stay at one number for hours and then in the course of five minutes jump anywhere from 25 to 50...I wish they would get their poo in a group and get that all straightened out!:pinched:
