@Shadow what Tam said. I thought my last chapter would never get written. But it wasn't all the muses fault. Real life got to be a pain in the arse in stopping me from writing. UGH!

Why on earth does it take an agonising week to write 1,000 words, then a mere hour to write another 1,000? For the same story?

Stupid muse...

We should put both our muses in a room and let them beat up on each other. Mine's doing the same thing.

Oooooh, can we make it a cage match?  TO THE DEATH!  That'd totally rock.

Pfft I have Teagan chapters to write and who is my muse messing around with? NATE! Not that I'm complaining but its Teagan I'm supposed to be writing about.... So yeah a to the death Cage match sounds good to me...

Hahaha!  That's really, really funny, because I'm supposed to be writing about Nate and I keep coming up with Teagan ideas.  Wanna switch muses for a week?  :D

EDIT:  Wait, now that I think about it ... Maybe we should put Teagan and Nate in a cage and add mud.  Hmmm....
Yeah, I would help clean that up.

My muse is having entirely inappropriate thoughts about Teyrn Loghain and I would like it to stop now, please.

Just go with it, Lupus.  (Don't forget to write it down somewhere).  The more you fight it, the more inappropriate it gets.

I had that happen when I was writing out a conversation between him and my main character. It just kept going...flirty and hot. And that was not ok at all, for her or for me. I ended up just going with it then burning the evidence shooting it straight to the waste bin.

Oooh, doesn't he, after you've recruited him, wonder what your plans are for him and asks, sarcastically, if you intend on dragging him around on a leash to show off? Yeah, let that little nugget wander down the path of complete inappropriateness... Posted Image

Has anyone ever suffered from the curse of the great first part? You right a first part that you think is really 'fit' and then you get in a tizz because nothing you do in the second seems to live up to it...

I need a beta & reassurance, I think.

Yikes! LOL. My muse has many entirely inappropriate thoughts but fortunately not about Loghain. I hope this doesn't mean that I jinxed myself LOL

Yup. All the time. And the opposite - excellent twist at the end, no build up. If only I could get the two to gel.

I am having so much trouble writing Duncan right now. Most of the other charachters are very well established but I cant seem to pin down Duncan's personality. He is supposed to be looking for a recruit, yet I have another charachter mind read him almost and suggest it.

I cant seem to write the scene without Duncan being very forthright, or with Sigvard's father not sounding like an real old style chief, which he isint. I had to scrap 1500 words and start again. Also I got my fic on fanfiction finally so take a read if you are over their.

Yay, Giggles!  Congrats on finally being able to publish on ffnet!

I dunno, I haven't written Duncan.  My take on him, if it helps at all, is that he's trying to be the 'face of the Grey Wardens' so he tries to be all representative of what the public should think of for Grey Wardens, and he's genuinely a nice guy.  But he's a rogue at heart, so he's absolutely going to be fine with using subterfuge if he has to in order to get his way.

So he's practical before honorable, although he likes the idea of honor?  And he gets along with people well, very personable guy.

Just my take on it without really thinking it over a lot, except for my warden's internal dialogue "what would duncan do?"  Hope it's useful to you.

IMO, Duncan's easier to get a handle on if you read The Calling. The first times I played the game I hadn't read it and he came across as fairly serious. In later plays I could see the hints of the sarcastic street-rat lurking just under his surface.

Also, try stealing in Ostagar, and get caught. It's awesome.

Thanks Jen, you just gave me an idea.

Since Duncan needs a recruit, and there is some trouble back at home, Duncan can propose an tourney that can solve two problems. Now to try and write my first fight scene.

You do!

Duncan: I need to say something to you.

D: You are a worthy and skilled recruit, and I know of your talent with sleight of hand.  That is a good thing.  Grey Wardens use a diverse range of skills and tools to accomplish their missions.
D: But the law is very hard on thieves.  Ferelden still bears mistrust towards our order, so practice these skills with caution.
D: Your standing as a Warden will not always help you.
PC: But I need to practice to get better.
D: Certainly.  Just don't get caught.

:D:D:D

D: Let us chance the
subject, shall we?
