"Bann Landra" does sound a little... off. The N-L sound doesn't want to work right. If it were me, I might ask people to call me "lady" too.

I was thinking that, but Alfstanna is a Bann, not a Banna or whatever. But I'm actually looking at the other side. Like, say Alfstanna (not really her, but works for argument sake) got married. What would her husband's title be, assuming he didn't have one of his own already?
Well, according to the wiki: "All nobility may be referred to as 'lordship/ladyship' or 'my lord/lady' when not using their title. This is also the correct term for their spouse." So questioned answered?
That doesn't explain why Eleanor Cousland is Teryna and Isolde is called Arlessa, but it's something concrete, at least.

Perfect, thank you!
And now back to writing smut...
Hahaha! So, any particular reason you wanted to know about the female version of Bann while writing smut?
"Oh Teagan, your bann-ana is so firm and ripe!"
"Let me make you my banna - you can call me 'my lord' anytime, baby!"

EDIT: (Just to clarify, I'm not saying anybody's smut actually READS like this. Please don't get offended. I'm, uh, in a mood today.)

Great. Now I want to write completely inappropriate flashback smut between Brand and Teagan that uses every single one of your ideas.

No, it was for post-smut. I swear. And not Teagan, although now I'm THINKING about him which makes writing my usual magic-kink!Anders smut difficult.

Umm, sorry bout that. Although if it makes you feel better, I did it to myself too. I'm trying to write intrigue and drama and now all I can do is think about noble title puns. Somehow I don't think I can work those in here.

Also confused since, somehow, a fairly religious teenager has started reading my fic. Even though every other reader is screaming "Yes, give us filth!" I'm now like "wow, this kid sighs his reviews and emails 'god bless.' I'm going to introduce him to things he probably doesn't even know existed."
I feel kind of bad for corrupting him. But it is rated M. And it's not like I haven't had dirty bits before, and fairly explicit ones at that. This is just the longest (and dirtiest) so far.

You corrupt no-one it is his choice to read. And just because someone shows religious convictions does not mean they are a puritan.
Stop feeling bad, your writing is great.

Speaking as a person with religious convictions, what she said.
Edit: As for the young thing...I suppose even the age restrictions on M material won't stop the curious. I'd be concerned if a young person was reading a dark story with sharp edges and full on trauma, but smut not so much.

And yeah, being religious doesn't *have* to mean being sheltered. If he was super-duper "I can't do or see anything that is outside religious beliefs" he wouldn't be playing dragon age in the first place, so.
His choice to click. Not your job to police him. And you write wonderfully - I'd hate to see you feel limited because of worrying about a teenager.

So...the saving Connor ritual...I know he doesn't have to be in the room for it but once it starts, would he still be conscious during it?
I can't figure out how aware he is during the actual possession, let alone the ritual. He seems to have flashes of consciousness during the game, fighting the demon back for a few seconds, yet after he's 'saved' we're told he apparently remembers nothing.
I think Connor could be aware, fully or partially, or not at all for the ritual, and it won't matter. If he gets localised amnesia or blocks everything to do with the demon out, the situation is open to creative liberty.

That reminds me of a scene from John Irving's the Hotel New Hampshire. In a Vienna Hotel, a prostitute nicknamed "Screaming Annie" is uh...performing, and this American couple and their daughter bring the Hotel Manager to the door, insisting that someone must be being murdered. The owner tells them, it's not a murder, it's only an orgasm....which leads to the mother clapping her hands over the daugher's ears. One of the characters remarks later "Typical Americans--they'd bring their daughter to see a murder but wouldn't even let her hear an orgasm"
I feel like the hypersensitivity we often see about exposing young people to sexual content is silly--although I don't tend to write very explicit scenes or especially violent ones myself.
