I think you just figured it out. Both those stories are, none of mine are, I just checked the first five DA pages and and none of them have a story that is rated M, and then I did the same thing with Harry Potter and the results are the same.Raonar wrote...

I really don't know. It used to, then somewhere around Chapter Six it disappeared. Soignee's DDW is the same way (or was the last time i checked) though none of my stories have ever had that problem. What causes it? I have no idea.Raonar wrote...
I just deigned to make a browse search on FF.net and it's TRUE!!! My fanfics don't show up when I choose Aeducan as character, even though it is so OBVIOUSLY set up as Aeducan & Brosca. why? WHY???
The horror....
Ah well (eats cookies while Sten isn't looking)
Hmm.... maybe it has something to do with the fact that I changed the rating to M.
EDIT
Greak Oki, take your time. It's long (really long) and some chapers are also long, so don't start on it unless you're sure you have the time and disposition.

I get that mostly with Arsinoe de Blassenville's stories. I love her Warden Maude's theory that she were dead when Flemeth found her and she was brought back to life (which I don't even know if it hactually appened in the story as it was just a fear she confided to Loghain while drunk) and when someone in her other DA fic mentioned that phylacteries really sounded like a form of blood magic then in my story Morrigan made sure to imply that they were when she said that Irving could have the Templars use Jowan's blood and magic to hunt him down after he escaped. Of A Kind made me realize the difficulty a dwarf would have finding armor at first since there are no dwarves at Ostagar so Duncan got her some (it would be irresponsible to expect her to fight without it) while he was in Denerim trying to recruit.Shadow of Light Dragon wrote...

It wouldn't be hard to read more than me, sadly.I barely read anything I'm not already following while I'm writing...I've probably given my reasons before, but again, it's mostly to avoid nagging feelings that I might be stealing other peoples' ideas. Only the other night I flicked on the TV and there was a program on that had ducklings. I automatically wanted to put ducklings into a chapter. That is how pathetic I can be.
(In their defence, they were really, really cute.)
It isn't always a bad thing, I don't think, being inspired by other stories but you have to be careful you're not ripping them off.

This reminds me.......WHY AM I NOT WRITING FIC
One reviewer said the origins surviving was done in "a decently logical way".
The protagonist directly intervenes in the DC and DE origins. The mage is already a recruit when the tale begins. As for the HNF and CEF, they are already at Ostagar, waiting for the others, since Duncan had already passed through there previously.
It was really more difficult to make them all survive the Joining.

But what is the romantic appeal of Ser Gilmore?! o_O
Example: in the chapter I was writing earlier today (and should have up some time tomorrow) she's still holding a grudge that Wynne said 'I find it very interesting how you refuse to answer a simple question. I think that that says more than you ever could' when Aunn realized that she wasn't sure whether she failed Trian and so, not wanting to admit it, said her answer was her own. This was several weeks ago but she dislikes her based mostly on this and now when Wynne tried to do her 'I'm wise and am going to be your mentor now' routine, she blew up at her and even though Wynne's really pissed and now dislikes her, she has no intention of fixing it as she doesn't want to put up with Wynne. I was going 'bad idea, bad idea!' while I was writing it but, well, she really doesn't like Wynne. Sign of a well-developed character or mental instability on the part of the author? I'm not sure I want to find out...

Sarah: for sure! I think I speak to you more than anyone else here. YOU ARE MY FRIENDY. You know you write so well I forget about the battles...but that's why my stuff has so much detail. Fight scenes GALORE...
That is so interesting and I find it to be a good thing you can separate your desires and thoughts from Aunn's. For real, that's actually an impressive non self insertion trait more people should take after!
Pfft, I know if I was in Dragon Age I'd want to pimp smack everyone by the end of the game, especially Odelia's best friend, and well. Everyone. I get mad at the whole camp at least one a dialogue tree. Odelia just shrugs it off. I think I'd win Sten over easier than her though, everyone says I make the best cookies

Instead of having my characters think like me I try to think like them - except making them make more sense - and I'm sometimes a little too good at getting into their heads but we all must make sacrifices for our art, right? If mine's a little identity confusion then it really could be worse.
If I were in DA I'd probably consider going to Orlais after Ostagar, realize their accents drive me crazy, and then ditch Ferelden for a country with less annoying accents. If, for some reason, that weren't an option I'd probably be more keen on helping with little matters because I'd feel bad if I didn't and not because I overidentify with them for whatever reason or for PR purposes like Aunn does.
I should probably take this time to mention that she's still not that horrible of a person?

When I was in 8th grade I don't think ff existed (I am old...) the internet was just being birthed, and I only joined ff.net this year. This is the first time I've written fiction of any discernible length. Interestingly I think ff has a great future ahead of it especially since we now seem to be moving towards electronic media and away from print.
I like dialogue, description not so much...

@ Sarah - I was completely unaware of FF until I started to run across some in the old forums before DA:O was released. I didn't pay much attention to it until the Community Creations forum was created on the social network, so I guess I was kind of late to the party. I'm glad I found it though, I'm having a lot of fun writing again and I had almost given it up entirely after my first child was born.
She has more here.
I do, however, admit that that one is the only story I read by her, and I did it on being prompted to do so by intuition.

The internet was in it's fetal stages when I was in the 8th grade, too. I think my dad had the kind of modem you put the phone reciever on. I didn't even know fanfiction existed until a couple years ago. I'd gotten inspired by KOTOR, once, but it went nowhere because I had nowhere to put it. ME1 didn't get me to write, just make up a dozen Shepards. And then.... DA:O and a certain elf assassin (and Surana/Alistair) put a plot bug in my brain. And then ME2 with a certain pushy Vanguard of mine cemented it. The only good thing is that writing this stuff has improved my own intellectual property work.
Shadow: Zevran does have a tendancy to just... take over, doesn't he?
Tanith: I'm glad you like all three of my massive fics. I thoroughly enjoy yours, too. To date, The Rescue is the longest thing I've ever written, and the closest to being finished. That's the one I was lamenting last night. It doesn't seem as if the characters want it to end.

@Sia - It is frustrating when a fic takes on a life of its own, but as a fan, I can say I don't really want "The Rescue" to end.

I'm very glad y'all love The Rescue. It took on a life of its own and I had no idea it was going to become a novel-length monster when I started it. I've talked Moira and her boys into at least letting me finish this and I'll give them at least one sequel. Maybe more.
(And I got my BA in creative writing in 1996, so I join the ranks of the "mature in body, if not in spirit.")
Also... would one of you dwarven experts like to peek at my DNF fic? Something's not right and I can't identify it.
