If you end up posting it, I hope you get a few readers.There are people who will read and review if you ask really nicely, but yes, it's daunting. If you don't get a great response, don't let it discourage you. And always remember that less than 10% of your readers are likely to write a review, whether they like it or not.

That's actually a limit of most programming languages and database programs, not ffnet. 255 is usually the max string length, (that's why it's the same max for, say, a single box in a spreadsheet).Sarah1281 wrote...

It seems arbitrary, but in this case it's not ffnet being strange, it's the limitations of whatever they use on the backend. There are ways around it, but since they can barely seem to keep things running as-is I don't think they have anyone on hand who could manage to impliment it. Without, you know, breaking everything horribly.

A lot of people like the 'all origins' idea. Partly, I think, as they're fond of multiple origins themselves and like to see, say, a Tabris and a Cousland spared their fate, partly because they want to see how Wardens as different as an Aeducan and a Brosca would interact, and partly because while it has been done before it does almost require there to be substantial differences in the story than just 'allow me to narrate the game you just played' which people doing a retelling always have to be careful to avoid.Raonar wrote...
Well, I had something dramatic like "Aeducan renounces his life so that his brothers can keep their, for more than a week at least" but then I decided to just put in the main idea and mention that all origins characters are in the tale.
So, basically, right now it's this :
"Bhelen had all bases covered, but didn't consider that his older brother would get himself framed on purpose just to fake the death of a certain someone. AU Fanfiction including all Origins as characters. Different outcome for House Aeducan and Orzammar."
Needless to say, a lot of people flocked to the "All Origins" idea immediately.
Granted, at first, I decided not to mention the thing about framing on purpose because that only happens in Chapter 6. So it's the same thing in the end... ah well.
In the end, I guess my male intuition IS what I should follow, since it usually works out quite spectacularly actually.

Personally, I'm not particularly fond of all origin stories because the more character added the less you can focus on them and even just companions not central to the romance/plot don't often get vey much written about them (like Sten and Shale). In your story, for instance, we've gotten extremely little about the CE and the HN and not as much about the DE as the mage and two dwarves but since they've literally just finished the Joining I'm sure that'll end up changing.
