Rags. Literal. Freaking. Rags. *shudder*

Thank you, modern society.

And I hadn't even thought of that. Ugh. Can I make it my head cannon that female grey wardens are subject to very, very, very irregular and infrequent periods? Since really, aren't their lives bad enough?

Yep, I can confirm this.  Viva tampons! No I am not that old... But I remember my dad saying (born 1928) that every few weeks or so the rag man would come to visit his mother and his elder sister and he didn't understand why... Guess this was the late 1930s early 1940s in Spain.

The baby Fiona had with Maric wasn't tainted, and for some reason, neither was she, anymore. No explanation on that has been offered yet. Even the Wardens of Orlais were going "WTFBBQ!?"

I think what you are talking about is when the wardens were in the deep roads and Fiona and the other grey wardens had started to progress further due to the mass amount of taint surrounding them. If I remember correctly the advanced effects faded, not that she was nolonger tainted by darkspawn blood. At least that's how a remember it :) Maybe I'm remembering wrong though.

No, wasn't it due to the effects of the amulets that they were provided with by the treacherous Raspail, the orlesian Head of the Circle of Mages at the time, these prevented them being detected by the darkspawn but also accelerated the effects of the taint...  Fiona and Duncan reverted once they removed the amulets.

Lovely. I wonder if Thedas has some enchanted alternatives...

And now I'm imagining Sandal saying 'Enchantment?' to my fem PC. My brain.

Don't think so. My number of hits went over 1,000 in the last half hour.

And the charts seem fine...

I think....

Something strange is definitely going on. My normal non-update day hits seem fine, but my update-day hits are at only about 50% of what they would usually be, while my reviews and emailed comments are about average.

A few of the fics I've been following have been having chapter hiccups as well. Obviously there are buggy bugbits happening.

Duncan's knack for stealing stuff actually kept him from experiencing any of this.  Amazing what you can find in a First Enchanter's office, especially one that has been planning to use something but also wants to ensure they can counteract it.

Anything Duncan does in the Calling is pure gold. Too bad it technically dooms him in the end...

Ok, humble request here....

I am on the verge of beginning the Ostagar battle and am at a loss for inspiration.

Have you lords and ladies any suggestions for a good, inspirational soundtrack? Something that starts with building tension and then slowly escalates, until all hell breaks loose, and all that bardic nonsense.

Or maybe an all-purpose song?

Well the obvious suggestion seems to be "Mars" by Gustav Holst...

"The Battle" from the original "Gladiator" soundtrack. I seem to recall "The End Of All Things" from the "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" soundtrack also fitting the description, as well as "A Knife in the Dark" (great building tension at the start) from the "Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring" soundtrack.. Also, while not identical in the rhythm you're looking for, "Duel of the Fates" from "Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace" is pretty good as well.

But honestly, "The Battle" gets all my fighting scenes done. I just loop it on repeat...

Hmmm, lemme think of some songs that could go with it...

Dawn of Battle by Manowar

Power of Thy Sword by Manowar

Through the Fire and The Flames by DragonForce

Battle Metal by Turisas

Guardians of Asgard by Amon Amarth

The Return by Omnium Gatherum

Ehehe, I guess you can see where my musical tastes lie. That, and my wish the game did have a metal soundtrack like the ads. >.>

"O Fortuna" would also be... very appropos.

As far as metal/rock goes, "Whisper" by Evanescence comes to mind.

I don't know how cromulent it is to post fanart that has been drawn by your internet girlfriend, but my hits are down and I need a pick-me-up.

Mel_Redux did this sketch of the main character of my story, Undertow, for me. It's entitled "Awkward":

I could go on for a while about songs, but I'll just add one more to the list for it's thematic humor.
Wooden Pints by Korpi Klaani
Why? For this lyric "There is men underground/ Who have never seen the sun/ but they really know how to party/"
:D

Edit: Specifically, for when you get to Orzammar. :)
