I actually think Oghren is much maligned. He's a real softy really, and you can understand why he turns to drink - he's had a hell of a time! There should be an option to romance him - even if you're not a dwarf.

I think David Gaider has promised that we will get a dwarf romance option in the next game. I'll have to dig up the thread where he said that. It would be hilarious to be a female human PC romancing a dwarf I think. And cute.

Oh that would be fun! I mean if you play a dwarf and are a guy you can romance Morrigan and Leli. I would guess if you are a female dwarf you could romance Leli, I haven't played dwarf origins yet.

@Miri1984 - I do see the appeal of Oghren as entertainment but I'm trying for a little escapism here. My other half, much as I love him, is not a renaissance man, and I have to put up with belching, farts, smelly feet, silly rude jokes and general average British male behaviour most of the time. It's actually another reason why I don't really trust Alistair. Smelly socks? Silly jokes? Sounds suspiciously like 'average British male' in the making to me. Zevran knows where the soap is, probably values the importance of clean towels as much as I do and only makes lewd jokes when they're saucy and designed to get me into the sack.

ROFL! Tara, I had no idea the British male was like Ali. I am with you, Zev would know where the soap is. And he would charm you into the sack with innuendo, which he would then put into practice. ^ _ ^

I think you just summed it up nicely for me.

I hasten to add - some of my very favouritest people in the whole world are 'average British male' and I have, and do fancy the pants of many of them, *peers over at other half to make sure he isn't reading this!* - not that I would 'go there', of course. But many of them are just a little bit... rough around the edges, shall we say.

ROFL, well so are American males too somewhat. Depends. My husband can't stand to be dirty and loves to know where the soap is. Charming not so much. He sucks at it. So like a combo of Alistair and Zev. : D

Actually, about the dwarven sex-appeal thing - the chappie that guides you about when you are being Ms Aeducan Origin - he's quite tasty, with his naughty suggestive comments and growly voice. He turns up in Denerim in the end doesn't he?

Oh, good lord...and I thought last the other night's conversation thread was scaring the men away. Keep this up and no man will venture near this thread...

@EtteStarz - well yes, and I wasn't really going to elaborate further on that particularly subject - just wanted to explain why I don't find Oghren a suitable 'target'. :) The other dwarf IS nice though.

You could invoke a ton of Gorim angst right there.  Oh yes, you can quite get involved with Gorim.  He tells you he loves you forever.  Yet somehow he moves on quickly, gets married and knocks up his wife.

I can't go by him now and not hear in my head: Fine dwarven crap

Gorim! That's the bunny. He knocks up a wife?! That was pretty fast work, although I suppose he thinks you're dead, doesn't he? And yes, he needs a new adverstising campaign.

Hehe. Australian males are generally worse than both American and English ones, although there are the odd gems here and there - my hubby being one of them. Definitely knows where the soap is.

  Darn...I'm with you about Oghren though.  Drinking mate, nothing more.  Though, Steve Blum (the voice actor) has voiced some "suitable" characters in other series.  :)

Yes, you are dead.  It's more how fast he gets on that...  Way to mourn, dude!

@Tasmen, well you know these are hard times and maybe being on the surface is a bit of trial so having the soft cuddly arms and ample bosom of a good dwarven lass to fall into, is just what the doctor ordered. And y'know, one must move on.

[edit - I added 'to fall into' because it sounded as though I was suggesting Gorim might go for a bit of gender re-assignment, which wouldn't bother me of course but it wasn't what I meant.]

Indeed!  Nothing heals the soul faster than magi-boobs o' ample love :D

Alrighty, I’m done resting my eyes and drooling on my pillow.  Got caffeine in front of me and ready to tackle this chapter…so, anyone else have trouble writing at work?  Never seems to fail that the days you need to get important thing done (like a fan fiction chapter, hello!), people (phish, like your boss) want to talk to you.

I’m a “need blocks of time” writer (cause mostly it’s just staring at the screen) – how do other people work/write?   Sorry if we’ve already had this discussion…still a bit hazy in the brain. :P

I can only write at work in spurts and only in a notebook which I have to transpose. At home, I do best with long blocks of time. I tend to visualize what I am writing like a movie or a tv show. If that makes any sense. I only hope it translates to others. So far I seem to be doing okay in that regard.

:wizard: Of course - the secret notebook, the madness and method behind your writing prowess, Gil.  I keep a notebook too, several in fact but most of them are there to look pretty, it sucks that sometimes I can't read my own writing.

LOL, I am not so sure about my writing either. And if you were to read my notebook, you would recognize parts of chapters, but that is probably it. It wouldn't make sense to anyone else. In fact, it would look like the notebook of an insane person. It has notes in the margins too. ROFL!

Well, you know that there's a very fine line between insanity and creative genius - so I'd view your notebook as a promising start in a good direction.  ^_^

Don't cut any of your ears off. That's bad and where genius crosses firmly over into insanity.

Yeah, I like my body parts where they are thanks. So no pulling a Van Gogh for me. What is sad, is that I write and paint. So I could pull a Van Gogh or and Poe. ^ _ ^
