Yup, I found yours Lupus after I started writing my one-shots. I didn't really get into writing Anders until after that - he's addictive. And I'm always a bit worried that I take a bit from you when I'm writing Fractures - Neria isn't as... feisty? as Maggie and the relationships are different but when we did the Fiona reveal in the same week I was biting my nails a bit.
Fractures is nearly finished in any case, but there's no way I'm giving up reading AOA, I love it too much.
I thought that was a riot that we dd that at the same time. I'd already had most of my next few chapters outlined out when you did your reveal. I know we both plan everything pretty far in advance so it was just some kind of crazy Anders-driven moment of synchronicity.
I think it's interesting how different our characters and stories are given that we're both working with the same basic building blocks. Neria is far more logical and rational than Maggie. Your game characters come across very differently, too, but never out of character. I suppose it's just that different aspects of their personalities are accentuated.
(Also, New Vegas... I almost always do my first play of any RPG as a total goody-two-shoes but I think I'm going to have to side with the Legion. I took four years of Latin and still have a minor obsession with ancient Roman culture. The simple fact that they pronounce things correctly is enough to win me over. Despite their other, far more horrid, qualities. Also, my current quest- to find someone named Anders who went missing. No kidding. If he's got a blonde ponytail and an earring I think my head will seriously explode.)

I was really grateful to see that other
people's fanfic had food mentioned on and off as issues for the Wardens
in their stories. At first I thought it was something I was exaggerating
in my head.
And I do still read other people's fanfics even as I
write mine, but Marlana is so firmly entrenched in my brain, I know
she'll start going stabbity if I confuse her with someone else.
I find that odd, too.
What really surprises me is how few stories deal with weather. Maybe it's because I live in a cold climate, but there are a good several months where sleeping in a tent in my area would be fatal. The mortality rate among the homeless here from about November through March is really horrifying. Hell, there's usually at least one or two people in my city every winter who die in their homes because their power was turned off for one reason or another. If Ferelden is even half as cold as everyone seems to think it is camping out probably wouldn't be feasible even with all the ice salve in the world.
