SNORT! I think FF.net does know when we talk smack about it! I am glad I waited to post.

Yeah, stats are still down. I wonder if the old stats work.

Old stats are accessible, but hits aren't increasing at all. Community numbers and review numbers are working though, because two of my stories got added to a new community, and I can see when I get new reviews.

Usually when one goes down they both do.

I really prefer the old page, personally. I like seeing how many reviews each chapter gets comparatively, and which stories have been added to communities, are being followed, have been favorite-d, etc. It really seems to have a lot more info than a bar graph.

While I normally wouldn't advise depriving a free site of ad revenue they need, I really wouldn't go NEAR ffnet without adblock running.

Apparently adblock is only for Firefox, does anyone know of a comparable program for Internet Explorer?  I do like ff.net, but I'm getting REALLY tired of having to reboot my system every time it offers me a "free iPad" that it won't let me decline.

*scoffs* Free iPad, my lily white heinie....

It's REALLY REALLY easy to archive on deviantart once you've posted to ffnet. Like, we're talking maybe sixty to ninety seconds of work easy. I put all of AOA on there in an afternoon. Easiest thing is to open the ffnet editor for that specific chapter from your document section, hit the HTML button, and paste it into the text box on DA. Done with all formatting preserved. Seriously easy.

Oooh, thanks for the tip!  I saw that you had uploaded nearly all of AOA at once and was wondering how on earth you did it.  Not that I have nearly that much to add, but trying to insert HTML tags was soooo tedious.  Yay!

I don't know of an adblock for Internet Explorer. And I know what you mean...I hate that free iPad ad. *stabs free iPad ad*

Wow, I've never really seen these ads. I've always had on ad-blockers and been using camino, firefox, or chrome whenever I've gone to ff.net. I less than three Chrome and highly recommend it.

Chrome seems to work very well. I know I've never seen an ad at ff.net.

I've never seen the ads either (Firefox). You can't close the ad, though? o_O Ouch.

Shoot, I'm wondering about my own dirty mind now. My last three chapters have had either overt acts of, or references to and jokes about,, um... going down.

Looks like they clicked on late last night. I've got maybe an hours' worth of views from yesterday, too.

Now it's funny because it says I have no hits the past couple of days, but I DID get 7 reviews in that time span, for my last chapter. At least THAT service worked.

Seems to be at least somewhat retroactive. My stats from yesterday have gone up substantially. Nothing from earlier, though.

Oghren's joke and Alistair's (lack of) reaction? Hilarious.

Thank you! I admit, I spent WAAAYYY too long thinking of an appropriately dirty joke for Oghren that would still be subtle enough Alistair might not get it.

(Job interview tomorrow- wish me luck!)

It was funny and dirty enough where I had to repeat it to my husband because of the giggles.

Does anyone else feel like they get spoiled by reviews? Like, I posted a chapter only 2 hours ago, and have gotten X reviews. And while part of me is like "hey, that's not bad for 2 hours!" another part of me is like, "OMG, I've only gotten X reviews! Why? Why? Send me more! Now! This is far less than my usual, even if I know that it's only been 2 hours!!!!"

This is why I should not post during the middle of the day, on slow days at work...

@Lupus good luck, love!!!!

Mahkara, yeah I am totally spoiled by them, but I have noticed the number I get dropped off a lot. But then I will get one that is just amazing and strokes my ego. So, it kinda makes up for it. And my stats (now that FF.net is working again) are high. I have almost 600 for today. So I guess people are still enjoying it and reading. I sometimes wish I would get more reviews...heheh.

I have a different review expectation for each fandom. For instance, in Naruto or Harry Potter if a one-shot gets less than twenty reviews, I'll get concerned whereas for Dragon Age I'm happy with three. And with chapter stories, after so many chapters I'll have a certain expectation of reviews per chapter and so long as the average falls within that range (like if it were six per chapter and one chapter only got four but another got eight it would be fine) then it's all good.

That sounds mildly neurotic. Posted Image
