I was thinking AOA would hit half a million words, but I only have a few chapters left so I'm starting to think I probably won't. It'll be close, though.

I'll probably reach 400,000 words with chapter 36... which means my entire tale will likely reach 1000,000 by the time I'm done with it (O.o).

So like as a birthday present to myself I've decided to do a rewrite of my book one about Aonghas. haha it has nothing to do with the fact that I have decided I want to replay the whole thing again. I got really pissy about not being able to edit my end game for a face morph because the file was too large and when I discovered I would have to go back to 50 hours in order to modify the game file (the finish was 106 hours; under 9 vs over 14 for the save file) I decided I might as well start from scratch LOL. It will probably take me more than 106 hours this time. LOL. I always felt I rushed the first playthrough.

So, Dragon age 2 has Rock Wraiths, them being the souls of evil dwarves that weren't allowed to 'return to the stone', or so says the official dragon age 2 page. They're like floating stone golems really, with a glow in the middle. I am SO using this, or at least alluding to it, in my fanfiction

Trust me, I am amazed I reached that number too. I actually have six different files for the story, Part 1 through six, already (Word documents I mean). To be fair, however, I DO have to write about SIX main characters and I am also subtly weaving in a lot of things and sprouts for a sequel I may or may not write  And it all just comes completely naturaly...

And I still like how my readers react to all the suspense I create *Looks at Sarah1281 but is just too stealthy to be noticed*

My fic is really dialogue-heavy, which bulks up the word count substantially. That, and it spans nearly a decade, so... *shrug*



My fic isn't about one event, though. It's about one person and her life, so it spans several of what would be considered different independent plots.

Like Lupus and Raonar, I am amazed I am at 300k and not even close to being done yet. I have dialogue heavy like Lupus, and I do have chapters that are descriptive too. ROFL, lets just call it what it is, I am wordy! *snickers at self* My story spans probably a decade then will fast forward and do a few years at the end of my character's life.

I doubt I'll ever get a fic that long. I tend to lose interest at 100K so I'm still amazed I managed a story that was 2.79K.

And I have literally NEVER WRITTEN MORE THAN TWO PAGES OF ANY STORY before March 2010...

I honestly with my original fiction writing would flow this... easily. I suppose it has something to do with not having to create the entire world myself and so requires less background work, in a way. I'm not sure. I started with 30 Dragon to work on the concept of believably writing from the POV of a young man, and then it kind of went off on its own. IPWL is now helping me with another dynamic (said young man totally trying not to love what he thought was just a best friend), though I didn't see it that way at first.



It's just strange, as the original novel just went past 100k, while the fanfic and its sequel together are clocking in at over 450k and still going strong. I mean, wtf, brain?

Let me just say to you all that I don't get to review like I want, or read, all of your stories. But you all are so good. I enjoy each and everyone of your styles. And there is a LOT of talent on this forum. Shadow, Sarah, Maria, Inquartata, Raonar, Lupus...you all rock.

Same here.

I'm in at 180k words in my blight story atm and are still at the (end of the) first treaty. So I'd be not surprised if I'd hit the 300k mark when I'm finished with it. I have crapload of dialogue and added scenes, so the extent of this story is not exactly a surprise either. I never manage a chapter under 6k words, so this classifies me as wordy, I guess.

Then again I really need to get back to my FF or I will never finish it. I haven't written on it for weeks now  and slowly I'm running out of chapters to post.

I dunno the reason for it, it seems I have a little blockade preventing me from writing. Although I know exactly what I want to include in the actual chapter I'm (not) writing on.

@Merilsell, that happens to me from time to time too! It will pass, but don't force it. My only advice is to relax and let it unblock on its own. Glad I am not the only wordy person here. : D

I'm fighting apathy due to disappointment over DA2, which puts a damper on my enthusiasm for the franchise and tempts me to turn to other interests/ fandoms.
