Happens to me all the time.  I'm in one of those 'funks' atm.

Yes.  I've written something like 75 pages in a handful of days b/c it was just there.  And then this week, I didn't manage to get my chapter finished by Wednesday, scrapped the whole thing, and had to start fresh.  It comes and it goes.

Oh Maker yes... At least two of the chapters on my ff have had to be re-written and I nearly gave up on the last one!!! Its just one of those times of the year. And I heard that today about Mercury being in retrograde hmm...

As for the undead thread, we have darkspawn so why not?

Definitely. When I find a part that's dragging so much I want to tear my hair out, I start over. A change of direction is all it usually takes for me, though it's painful 'letting go' of the stuff that took so much time to write.

I am trying to write another fanfic too, I go to it when I am stuck. And playing the game.

When I stop being able to write I go to sleep, or go for a drive, or change to writing on paper rather than writing on the computer - it's amazing how the feel of a pen can make things flow.



BUT there are some chapters that just won't be written. I have a hell of a time with in-game stuff, which is why I try very hard not to do them any more. And I find Zevran really, really, really hard to write. He just doesn't like me - which is why even when he's in one of my fics I tend not to use him much, even though I looooove him.

I write lines for him and then realise they are ALL WRONG and have to go and have a little cry and then I go back to the story and cut him out and I can FEEL him looking at me and saying "It's just because you love Alistair..."



I'm romancing him in my current playthrough because I think that will help. Also because I want to .

God, no kidding.  I find some in game stuff incredibly easy, and some incredibly hard.  I'm at that point with my in-game story.  Oddly enough, I don't find Zevran tricky, as long as I keep the layers of his personality all in their proper places.  Of course, maybe I suck at writing him.  That's for others to judge.  I find Wynne and Leliana the trickiest, honestly.  I'm never quite sure what's going on in Wynne's mind, and Leliana can descend in characature if I'm not careful.

I think you write Zev wonderfully Lady D. I am with you. I have trouble with Wynne and Leli the most. And for the same reasons. UGH!

Thanks! I guess the problem for Leliana is that underneath the whole 'maker dream vision' thing, I don't really know what drives her. I think I'm going to circumvent the problem by just not writing from their perspective very much. :x
