Well then AU it is! ROFL. Though lately I have been having a crisis of self doubt and have thought of just quitting writing. Thought leaving Soulmates dangling isn't appealing.

Aww I know you have a busy life, but don't give up on finishing Soulmates. I know how you feel though about quitting but I just take a little time off and then get right back to it.

As to regular reviewers disappearing, that's life, they're not married to us and there's only so much you can say once you've reviewed five chaps on the trot. I tend to be optimistic about it and think that they're still reading... I think most of them are, they've just exhausted what they have to say.

PS One of my old regulars just got back to me to say that she likes where the story is currently heading, qed?

I think Gaider's next book is about Wynne's son, actually. When asked what it would be about he said

What? You now need everything stated so obviously? No.

(read just the first letters of each word)

So if you're not entirely pleased about AU that may be something to keep in mind.

Speaking of FIrst letters, this reminds me of somethin I used in my FF.

Operation BROTHERHOOD Raised to Minus One. BROTHERHOOD stands for Bootless Roaming Of The Exquisitely Rustic Homeland Of Oversized Dogs, the implication of raising it to minus one (which is the same as inverting the meaning altogether) being that this is not such a hopeless (bootless) endeavor at all.

How's THAT for mind screw?

Ah, but you have to remember to Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally; exponents before multiplication, so raise ALL the terms to the -1, making it the Hopeful Standing-Still of the Awfully Sophisticated Foreign-place of Undersized Invert-dogs.

Hmm, and yet, when an operation inside a paranthesis is raised to any power, one needs to get the result FIRST, no? Unless it's an equation with as yet unknown variables that requires weird algebra. So, the result being bootless roaming of whatever, has its sense inverted.

Or whatever :P

NOOOOO math! When I was a little girl, I played with the magnetic letters, and threw the numbers in the bottom of the toy box. *shudders* math..bleh.

And thanks all for the support, I was just having a moment of self doubt. But really I am so addicted to writing, I don't think I could stop. And you all make it so worth it.

@Maria13...Yeah the stats bars are high so I usually stay optimistic about them reading. *Gil stops whining*

That is what I love about this thread...I can come here, and have sense smacked into me. Thanks guys!

Yes, exactly - *all* of the terms are inverted, when really all you want to do is invert the 'bootless' part... so the (B-to-the-minus-one)ROTHERHOOD.

Sorry... you *asked* if my mind was blown...

I'll chalk it up to saying it's a DIFFERENT kind of raising to whatever power (like the one that came up with the term used a different sort of operation that the one commoners use, something like the path to the secrets of the universe or something).

So it's all good.

Okay anyone else but (silly old) me get moments of crippling self doubt where you need people to kick you in the ass? Or was my moment of stupidity yesterday just my own personal doofery?

So after getting the Demo out of my system, I went back and started up my new Aonghas game and am currently writing the next section slowly as I think about the emotions and feelings behind the words. Right now I'm stopped at "I don't think we've actually met." Gotta decide how I'll change the dialog to suit my changes. "Duh, we have too met before, you daffy King." Would be pushing it right? hahaha. I'm starting to crack myself up again. Hehe. I won't say that for sure! haha.

@gilgamesh1138 self doubt is just that, your own doubt attempting to interfer with your successful completion of a projects. Let's say you complete your project and find youself dissatisfied with the overall results. You can always modify the existing or do it differently on you next. I think you'll find that pretty much every fanfiction writer, even the most popular have their moments of doubt, but they move forward and carry on. You can do it!

A certain amount of self-doubt is good; It can lead to improvement. But it must never be allowed to cripple you, that is pointless. Just repeat to yourself in those dark moments: "I am a writer and I will finish my ****."

Think about it Gilga, very soon you and I will be able to say we've written a novel. How many people can say that?

Aw, thanks again! And yeah, I am chugging away at 98. I just needed your kicks in my hind end. Or as Inquartata likes to do...*stab*. Thanks guys, I am moving along now. UGH writer's block and self doubt...bleh.
