I have to admit, the only fic I'll post here are prompt fills in the Anders thread since the formatting is such a nightmare. So... It changes nothing for me.
When I can upload to ffnet, dreamwidth, deviantart and sometimes even ao3 in less time than it takes to get one chapter here, well... Links work just as well.

'Tis true.  Just checked it myself plus there is nothing that says the Fics etc have to be specifically about DAII:

"This forum is for owners of Dragon Age II to discuss their fan creations
(links to artwork, music, fan fiction, etc) as well as fan created mods
and modding discussion. We do not allow fan fiction posted on these
forums, but links to fan fiction are allowed. Reading fan fiction,
viewing art and using fan mods is done at your own risk. These are fan
creations, not officially supported BioWare products."

So potentially we can all post links there.

[/quote

That is true.  That said, I'd 100% sympathize with the mods if they destroyed any links to non-cross over Pokemon ffic that was posted there.  ;)

Sounds like you can only post links to ANY fan creation. Wonder how long that'll last...there's so much DA2 art and fic out there already in general discussion alone...

You know, I only now found out that Ser Pounce-a-Lot can revive all party members during a battle.

*facepalm*

"This item has a unique power" indeed.

My thoughts exactly SoLD. I would have tightened up the wording a tad... :kissing:

I have an important lore question that may involve DA2 spoilers. Other than Leorah, are there any elven mages shown in either game or even mentioned in either game as having any positions of responsibility within a Circle? I'm only asking about Circle mages. Can anyone answer this? I'm not very deep in DA2 and I have a story I very much want to write that depends upon the answer to the question.

Thank you.

There's, um, whatzerface, the Ambassador (Cera?) the Circle sends to Vigil's Keep. I'm not clear on whether she's a mage or a Tranquil, though. I *think* she's a mage, but she does enchantments, and her voice is just level enough that maybe she is Tranquil.

Cera is just one of the many things that bug me about Awakening. You are right.

If she is tranquil, I can still do what I want.

...aaand apparently Fiona was a Circle mage for a while? But I have no idea what she got up to there. (According to the wiki, she begs to join the Wardens, so I'm guessing she was having less than a good time.)

My guess is that having been a pleasure slave Fiona was pretty cued up on the different forms slavery/servitude can adopt and recognised this in the circle so once she'd learnt what she needed to learn she wanted out and became a GW. Limited life span but some autonomy.

Ok, if/when my fic gets to DA2, I'm incredibly sad I'm following my first/blind run...

My eventual travel/awakening sequel will include some time in Kirkwall. I'm excited for a reason to learn some Force Mage spells hehehe

My Warden will live on and I shall eviscerate some of the DA2 characters in Fiction.

Fortunately I haven't written very much fanfiction past DAO. And the only issue I could see with anybodies is if the have Anders with them. (I haven't finished DA2). The other appearance happen years after and are just short visits so easily explainable. I'll have to see what happens to Anders. But so what if a fanfict becomes AU because of DA2? It still makes a good read :).

Yes, one of my characters is already on her way to Kirkwall and the King Alistair in DA2 pretty much fits in with mine... So I'm quite happy. And I had a character named 'Pryce' with a 'y' earlier on and I've just met one with the same name in DA2... I recall what SoLD said about Fenris...

Funny thing is that I stumbled upon loads of things in Dragon Age 2 that I was already going to include in my story (control over the fade, Flemeth's amulet being a phylactery-this I had guessed at months ago, like so many others).

What is interesting is that we are getting more information on the dwarves as a race, and the deep roads. Awesome, huh?

EDIT

Another thing. We get the codex about magic and how it's impossible to teleport in both DAO and DA2... and yet practically everyy enemy mage worth taking note that I encountered (human or abomination alike) have been teleporting about constantly. What is up with THAT?

Varric is the ultimate handwave.

"Wait, wait... a year after the Blight, we know that the Warden Anders was still at Vigil's Keep!"

"A year, eighteen months... it was ages ago, Cassie!  Look, he ends up traveling with the Champion and the story just *works* better if we meet  him here.  Does it really matter if I nail it to the day and hour?  Come on!"

"And some of these others...  You said you know the tale of the Hero of Ferelden?  Are you just... putting these appearances in to cater to your audience, or did these people actually show up as you describe?"

"Seeker, would I lie?"

I haven't finished the game, but I found that little note that says Seeker might have mind reading and mind erasing abilities. Just how weird would it be for Varric to tell this story and then get mind-wiped? LoL.

Using Varric to make DA2 a framed story was a brilliant idea on the part of the writers. Makes any retcon attributable to Varric's storytelling. Fantastic, easy handwave.

hehe. I rethought the whole timeline thing and we don't meet Anders until after working for a year in Kirkwell (probably longer since it isn't the first quest) and the sea voyage took a long time. So maybe Anders being there isn't a huge stretch and I definately think that a good while passes while you are getting the money for the deeps road thing so it isn't way out there. We fanfiction writers will just keep having to wiggle the timelines a bit until they work for us :)

Okay...I know this forum is pretty vacant these days...DA2 and so...but I really hope one can answer my little question here.

I need an equivalent term to "Rot in hell" The DA-lore version, so to speak. No mention of the Maker please because my Dalish wouldn't approve/ nor say that. :P

I think an appropriate slur/swearing for Dalish is "May the dread wolf sink his fangs into your throat!" or practically anything mentioning fen'Harel. (Dread wolf find you! or something....)

EDIT

Also, I got an incentive to keep up with my writing in the form of my video card getting fried

And it happened just when I started the Dragon Age 2 clymax too. Ah well.
